A restaurant with rooms, so convenience for lunch when we arrived, and breakfast next day was delicious. Room comfortable and had all we needed.
Our bathroom had a problem with the shower heat so we couldn't use it. Because the staff are restaurant staff who book people in, we didn't bother them about this until leaving, because they were so busy with people eating. Also, discovered it just as we were getting ready, so frustrating, but had to get on with it. I'm sure they fixed it when mentioned - but seemed as if it needed a plumber. Parking is tricky when the restaurant is full. We juggled the car around until we squeezed into a spot.

All of the staff we met during our stay were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good value and priced according to what you ate, not a flat rate included with the room, which we preferred. Good quality fluffy towels in the bathroom, large TV, tea/coffee in the room and pleasant decor throughout.
Whilst in general the room appeared clean and was serviced every day, there was a lot of dust around the edges of the carpet, under the bed, in the lampshades and on the textured wallpaper. This resulted in a strong smell of dust in the room which was not very pleasant. Our guest experience would have been improved had this not been the case. The shower control was loose and leaked and the flow of hot water was somewhat temperamental, especially on the sunday morning.

The hotel was start to finish was simply perfect. From booking in to checking out, everything was great. The room was well laid out, clean, with beautiful décor and very dog friendly. The room was spacious and really ticked all our boxes. The food was fabulous. Breakfasts and evening meals were perfect in every way. Your tastebuds woke up with all the different tastes and flavours, the food was well presented and really cooked to perfection in every way. Staff were warm, attentive and very professional with impeccable courtesy and politeness. I think my only criticism would be that the hotel missed a lounge area, were you can relax and chill with a drink before eating. The hotel would really benefit from such area and would really add value to the overall experiences. The surrounding area is perfect for dog walking and the canal is so quiet and relaxing. Whatever you do these days, it can be pricy, but I thought the prices to stay and eat where really reasonable and not out of the way. You get what you pay for without a doubt! It’s certainly worth a stay and to eat here. So would we go again? Yes, without a doubt as its so comfortable to stay here and the food is so divine and so dog friendly!

Staff and room, excellent… food was absolutely superb..
Pillows, could do with feathers instead of the foamy type filling… blanket would be useful, as I was a little cold. Shower was awful. Water was only warm, and water pressure was low… but I do understand this can be a problem in some areas. I was disappointed with the apparent change of price. It was originally advertised at £101, and then whilst I was booking it, not 1 min later, it had gone up to £110.

Location was perfect for us visiting family nearby Room was clean and bright. Bed very comfortable. Liked mugs on refreshment tray Smart cheerful dining room room and well cooked breakfast Allowed to check-in early Staff friendly
Room was too warm and not easy to turn radiator down Bathroom rain-shower, prefer “mother-and-daughter” type. Nowhere to put own bathroom necessities e.g toothbrushes, toiletries etc No choice of teas on refreshment tray

The hotel had a clean fresh feel. Everything was spotless and all our needs met. I've worked in Customer Service for some years and have a high regard for venues that have well trained staff with clear expectations about standards of service. The Rufford Arms staff were all highly professional, courteous and helpful. The food was also excellent and a reasonable price.
Small complaint that the WiFi code was not available in our room and we weren't given it at check-in.

Have stayed a few times and must say the food is spectacular as always and amongst the best anywhere we have stayed. Liver pate was fabulous and the rest just as good. the total cost including wine was very reasonable indeed. I can highly recommend having dinner there.
I would have given a 10 score but the shower was not up to standerd with slow pressure and not modern. If that was sorted it would be a 10 every time. The room was very small but was ok.

The greeting at reception was very good - friendly and efficient. The overall look of the hotel was nice - well decorated and clean. Evening meal was very good. Nice walk down to the canal towpath to the Hesketh Arms for a pre dinner pint. Rufford Old Hall on the doorstep but was closed on the day we stayed.
Bedroom walls transmitted discussions in the next room which caused some disturbance but it was not late so no real issue - just a bit annoying.

The room was comfy and clean, and I loved the decor. It was easy to find the hotel and there was plenty of parking on-site. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, which was excellent - the food was delicious, varied menu, good veggie and vegan options, and good service. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good - cooked fresh to order, plenty of toast and coffee alongside. Overall, a really lovely stay. The location of the hotel, next to a Tudor National Trust hall and close to a wetlands nature reserve, gave us plenty to visit nearby.

The room was very well appointed. Exceptionally clean. Amazing towels, decent sized coffee mugs that you can actually hold! Good supply of tea, coffee, biscuits. Comfy bed. Clean and functional bathroom. Nice staff.
The breakfast. I mistakenly thought breakfast was included in the £100 a night cost, but it wasn’t. We found when we went for breakfast the continental breakfast was £7pp & cooked breakfast was £12pp. Thought the cost of the continental was far too high, and the cost of the cooked breakfast was too much especially as we would probably of only had scrambled egg on toast! Decided not to have any at all. The Continental breakfast should be included in the price of the room booking, with different rates for cooked choices. If they insist on £12 for full cooked, then maybe £7 ish for other hot choices.
