Great food, wonderful beaches and perfect place to stay.

The hostess in Mermaid restaurant was not v nice. We had a reservation for a dinner on Tuesday night, it was made a few days in advance. She offerred us the worst table in the back of the restaurant, next to the entrace to the kitchen, no air flow. People with no reservation were seated in the prime locatoins. She made a big deal, when we asked to be seated in a better place with the view outside.

The rooms in the main house, the view, the property. Food and beverage manager and one waiter were attentive. On-property transportation was great, especially drivers. Golf course was good, despite dry conditions and consistent winds.

Many of the staff need basic service training. Food and beverage usually took 30 or more minutes to arrive and there was almost no followup. The GM seemed lost and not in control. Usually tough to get a cocktail. Food was 5-star price and 3-star quality.

The resort and location is breath taking!!! The staff are all so friendly and accomadating!! They make you feel like family from the start. The resort is perfectly located, not too far from town, yet far enough. There is so much to do right there you don't even have to leave. It is literally heaven on earth. We didn't want to leave!!!

If I had to say anything bad, is that for the price it would have been nice to have at least a microwave in the room. A small W/D would have been amazing with a 1 week stay and 4 kids.

The ambiance was exceptional. The hotel staff and restaurant staff were outstanding.

The only issue we had was the vanity in the bathroom was not draining properly. The maintenance staff was not able to resolve this issue during our visit.

Breakfast buffet was superb, daily! Great way to start every day.

More music at the beach in conjunction with the Mermaid beach side bar.

The beaches are gorgeous, the grotto pool is very nice. The food was decent and the staff was fairly friendly. it wasn’t overcrowded either.

They were under staffed so things like food/drinks took longer than usual and some locations (Grotto) weren’t open at all. We were also given the wrong category of room.

The 3 beaches were amazing, some of the best on the island. We loved walking to Whistle Beach, we had the whole beach to ourselves. The snorkeling at Grotto Beach and Mermaid Beach was better than some of the other beaches we went to in Fredrickstead. I really enjoyed the view of Grotto Beach from our room and the convenience of our room's location. The breakfast buffet was great, we enjoyed it everyday, Delma and Pat were great servers. The service at Beauregards Bar was great from Ken the bartender. And we enjoyed going to get drinks from Patrice at the Terrace Bar at night. The overall vibe of the resort was peaceful and quiet, perfect for what we were looking for.

The pillows on the bed were very thin and uncomfortable and our toilet leaked onto the floor the first few days. The food at the restaurants (Beauregards and Mermaid) was very overpriced and took forever, I recommend eating elsewhere on the island. Everything at the hotel closes too early, the restaurants stop serving at 8 and the live music on the Terrace was over by 9pm every night.

The location was beautiful, private and quiet. It was our first trip without our deceased son. We honored his birthday while in St. Croix. The staff and accommodations at The Buccaneer were amazing.

I didn’t like that we had to go home and couldn’t stay longer.

We loved the ambiance of the resort and the ability to relax. The added bonus is that this place is in paradise. The staff was more than hospitable and friendly.

We have zero complaints other than it would be nice for the resort to be all inclusive.

The location was excellent. It has a beautiful view of the sea. The beaches were very clean. and well kept.

I didn't like the the bars and restaurants were not open because of covid. The Mermaid was open and we just got a small meal to share and it was good. I heard that the service was very slow if you had supper at night.
