My husband and I just traveled there for our honeymoon and we were extremely pleased with the experience. We got in town early and was accommodated asap to check in early. I loved having the full kitchen and the bathroom was spacious. We also definitely appreciated a real coffee pot! However in our opinion the best part about it was the black bear we saw hanging out in the tree outside our room. We’r from indiana so that was AMAZING for us! 😃Thank you for making our stay comfy and cozy.

I do wish they kept a swifter or broom in the closet. As we were there for hiking and outdoor activities not to mention all the rain. There wasn’t much room at the entry to take off shoes leading to a dirty grimy floor. Also the coffee cabin on the property that I was excited to see was never open when we tried to go. 🥲

This was a beautiful chalet. It was in the back of the property, and it felt like you were in a forest. It's a 5-7 minute drive to downtown Seward. Down the road from Exit Glacier, and Turning Heads Dog sledding. Across the street from Salmon Bake. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and dishes. The master bathroom had a steam shower, and the downstairs bathroom had a jetted tub. Washer and dryer were a bonus. Big deck in the front with grill and in the yard around the chalet was a fire pit. Really couldn't have asked for more.

It was all more than we expected, so I would say nothing. However, if you are in town without a car, I imagine this place would not be as convenient, because it's not really walkable to downtown.

This is a wonderful place to stay!!! The house was spotless & had all the convenience of home. The owner, John, was very helpful, he took us everywhere we needed or wanted to go, even held our luggage and brought it to the train station when we had to leave..we had a full day between checking out of the house and the train. It is surrounded by woods Yat close enough to walk to a good restaurant across the street. John informed us of a couple of black bears that had been visiting area... we encountered one that was being followed by her cub. We admired them from afar.

We liked everything about Spruce Lodge.

I want to being by saying that I stayed in the "off-season" for tourism in Seward (After Sep 30). I was one of few guests in the lodge. I received my room number and door access code through text before arriving at the lodge. The kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans, plates, bowls, glasses, silverware, and towels. The full size refrigerator, stove/range, and microwave added a ton of value to this room. The television was paired with AppleTV that had Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, and other streaming services. The bed, pillows and linens were very comfortable.

The parking area is a bit rough, some smoother gravel paving would be nice. There is no doormat to wipe your feet off on. If you don't have your own means of conveyance it may be a challenge to get to downtown Seward or the port in the off-season.

Very easy to access to my room. It was extremely clean and the space was perfect. The bed was really comfortable and included a small couch in the room. The diffuser was a lovely touch and smelled amazing. Was pleasantly surprised at the level of cleanliness and how spacious the room was.

There could be better signage in order to find the place. The self-check in and checkout left me wishing for someone to have welcomed me. The grounds are all on gravel so a paved parking area would be appreciated.

Our room was just as shown in the pictures. Newer and very clean! Nice having full size appliances (particularly a stove). We had plenty of room in the Queen studio for 2 people. Added bonus having a nice size closet and the bathroom was very spacious and CLEAN! Good location in Seward on the road to Exit Glacier and a short drive to the harbor and stores and restaurants in town.

A small nightstand on at least one side of the bed would have been helpful but not a big deal. We used our cooler as a nightstand for my husband.

A wonderful fully equipped suite. We appreciated having a comfortable place to sit for a moment as none of the other rooms in Alaska that we rented had a nice couch. (Post-hike recovery furniture...LOL) Fixtures and furnishings were wonderful, clean and new. The property was nice, too, and the proximity to Exit Glacier and Harding Icefield, and Seward downtown, was all great. You do need transportation to get to these places, but we had a car. I highly recommend Spruce Lodge for a stay in Seward.

Our room was very clean and spacious. We are more accustomed to a firmer mattress, but it was comfortable. The breakfast sandwiches for sale and coffee are very good. Although the office staff was not seen, someone was always available via telephone to help and answer questions. Getting into our room on arrival could not have been easier. We would definitely stay here again.

The window curtain was thin and see-through.

We loved our stay at Spruce Lodge! The room was extremely clean. The oven, microwave and refrigerator were so nice to have in the room. There were pots, pans, dishes, glasses and kitchen towels. The bathroom towels were very soft and plush. There was a high top table with 2 bar stools and a leather love seat for sitting. The bed and pillows were fabulous. The smart TV was great! If you are looking for a place to stay near Seward, I would highly recommend this lodge. Location is great. Right next to Exit Glacier and nearby dining. We had a nice conversation with the owner, John. Thank you John for providing such a great home away from home!

Paper towels for the room would be nice. As with any location, you can hear others coming and going from their rooms. Perhaps a sound machine would help rather than the small light/mist machine.

Great place, had almost everything we needed.

The sliding door (without latch!) to the bathroom door is a poor design. I hope you provide locks for these doors. When we slide the door open we often bumped our toes trying to enter the walk-in wardrobe. The door essentially blocked access to either the bathroom or the wardrobe. Please also provide paper towels (bounty) for kitchen.
