The manager Kevin is the winning recipe for Longliner. He cannot be more welcoming if he tried. Nothing is a problem and nothing is too much. Actually he anticipates your needs and offers to help before you can even ask. He was just truly amazing and gave the best service and kindness we have ever experienced. And off course if that is the attitude of the manager, it trickles down to the rest of the staff. While the decor may not be modern, it was clean and comfortable. We did not have breakfast at Longliner as we generally do not eat breakfast. The room has a fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee maker should we have felt like something while the kitchen is not open and the supermarket was not far. We had a fabulous dinner at the restaurant where we sampled many of the chefs seafood dishes and deserts and rated it as the best meal we had in our 2 weeks in Alaska.

We had the rooms closest to the entrance where the fishing charter people met early in the morning and that could get noisy. However, we were warned and chose not to upgrade and take the better room away from the entrance as we were on a budget.

We missed the part about the restaurant being closed for the off season BUT Kevin was generous with his time to run us to town for breakfast & to the raptor center & Totem National. Park our 1st day because it was raining. When the bus service was interrupted & we couldn't find a taxi that would answer the phone he stepped up to fill that gap too. The room was nice enough & seemed very clean. The location was easily walkable to downtown when it wasn't pouring rain.

It would have been nice if the restaurant had been open because we understand it is quite good.

The Longliner was a great option for our first night in Sitka. The manager/owner, Kevin, contacted us with arrival instructions and was at the airport promptly to shuttle us from our flight from Seattle. Although it was not fancy, the room was warm and comfortable. After checking out the town we went back to The Galley Restaurant (located at The Longliner Lodge) and it was scenic and delicious. Great amenities, refrigerator and morning coffee. We highly recommend The Longliner!

Very clean, kind welcome to the property, bed, towels and sheets in excellent condition, coffee in the room, table for working, electronic lock so no key card to carry.

My room was right across from the office and next to the elevator. Was noisy whenever others were coming and going (especially at 6am). Would definitely recommend a room away from the main passageway.

The views were spectacular! Sea Lions, herons, seals and sea birds right off the deck. Lots of room and well stocked with great cookware. Staff was exceptional. Close 5 minute walk to downtown. Away from crowds and right over the water! Lovely!

All good!

Nice view overlooking the water. Comfortable, clean and friendly staff. It was out of town and had to walk along narrow street which was very quiet.

Didn't feel safe to walk around after dark own own. No breakfast facilities at the hotel. Only dinner is available at this establishment.

It was very pleasant. Clean, friendly.

We laughed at the “ocean” view room on the 1st floor over looked the restaurant patio so everyone eating could see in our window- but past the patio was the ocean- so it was an “ocean” view. lol

The services provided by the hotel staff exceeded our expectations. From picking us up from the airport and dropping us off. He was very accommodating and gave us information we needed. Thank you Jim for everything.

nice big room, right on the water

our room did not have a balcony like the others did. loud when people left at 5am. weird hammering noise all night long related to how a boat was moored at the dock. intermittent TV. it was really expensive but it was Camp drop-off day during the high tourist season, so…?

Very friendly, texted me to pick up from airport. staff helped us get around by driving us when it was raining.

A little further away from the main street, but it had charm by being on the water. Too early in the season for restaurant to be open so we had to walk a distance to get food.
