Very nice staff. Pool and Jacuzzi were nice.

The weird floor plan. Our room was on the 2nd floor but once you take the elevator to the 2nd floor with the cart full of your suitcases you had to unload the cart carry your stuff down stairs to use another cart to get to your room. when staying on the 2nd floor you have to take four flights of stairs to get to the pool and game room. Then go back up those four flights to get back to your room. No elevator available unless you take the long way around and go out the lobby then walk outside to the other side of the building to the pool.

The hotel itself feels charming. The beds were comfortable, and we had a cute fireplace, nice shower, plenty of soft towels and hot water, and a decent sized fridge. The hot buffet breakfast in the morning was really nice, it was a good way to start the day.

The connecting door between our room and the one next to us allowed sound to travel very easily. I could hear our neighbor moving around, his alarm going off in the morning, and every word of his phone conversation, he must have been able to ours as well. We could hear his TV, and at 12:30 at night I had to knock on the door and ask him to turn his TV down because very time dramatic background music came on, it woke us up. I don't think he actually had the volume up that high it was just the soundproofing of the room.

Breakfast was a nice bonus. Rooms were comfortable and really clean. Staff was friendly.

A shorter route to our room would have been nice. Electricity went out for a few hours on our last morning.

Beautiful old world decor in lobby, Dinning areas. The feel is upscale for Big Bear yet very welcoming and comfortable. The buffet breakfast which is included with your stay was good, nice variety, well staffed in their lovely chandelier laden dining room. The beds were comfortable, plenty of pillows with a variety of densities. Plenty of towels.

The toiletries are tiny and only 1 thumb size set for a 4 person room. Bring your own or just ask for more when you check in. No daily room cleaning. Not Chateau-like 😁. This seems to be the trend now everywhere but not what I expect for a $300. a night stay (holiday weekend rate, not the average cost). The microwave sitting right on top of the mini fridge didn't fit in with the quaint decor. Seemed out of place like a last minute thought.

This property sits in a beautifully wooded location on far from Big Bear Lake and many restaurants. The hotel was very nice and impressive and had somewhat of an old-world quality with some of the furnishings and style. The breakfast had one of the best breakfast burritos I've had and several other items as well. My family was very pleased.

The only negative comment is that the hotel was under a remodeling so there was a lot of construction equipment on the exterior. We never heard or were effected by the work, so they did a nice job keeping their guests isolated from it as best they could.

food at restaurant was horrendous and grossly over priced. $100 for a watery and terribly over-cooked spaghetti bolognese, undercooked cheesy doughy pizza, salad greens were fresh but unfortunately the chicken was dry. free breakfast was literally thee lowest possible quality food ever.

Breakfast variety is great some places we have stay have premade omelets which is great but otherwise great! Room only thing that needs to be improved furniture is nice but being wood drawers difficult to slide need to do some work on improving furniture! Bed very comfortable

Very nice location. The rooms are very spacious and have a gas fireplace. Beds are very comfortable. toiletries are upgraded, which is a plus. Rooms have coffee and tea, microwave and small refrigerator. Dining table in the room with with 2 chairs. Their full on breakfast is outstanding, actually they have a menu to choose how the eggs are served. Fantastic accommodations , that we always go to when visiting Big Bear.

Nothing to not like.

Room was very clean with interesting traditional decor. Linens and bed were good. It was a real bathroom and not the divided style with the sink in an alcove so there was a bit more floor space in the room itself. For 3 of us it was a bit tight. BUT were were out much of the time. Breakfast was Great! Lots of variety. We ate in the bar area at night and really enjoyed the service and the food. It is a huge facility so it was some distance to the exit.

The heat thermostat! We could not get the heater off at all! We left the window open much of the time. Reported the problem the desk in am, but they could not check it out until the next weekday.
