The location, in UCLA campus Plateia’s food is good & tasty, but a bit expensive

Cleaning of the room was disappointing. If there were dust or dirt in the room or bathroom, it would stay.. I saw the lady take out the garbage with her hands, and directly put the clean towel and sheets without changing her gloves first ! Housekeeping taps on the door, if we don’t hear and answer right away, they just come in the room ! It happened to me every day, even when I was in shower …. I asked for a scale to weigh my luggage, there wasn’t any.

The Luskin Conference Center and Hotel is an exceptional place to stay when in Los Angeles. The staff bends over backwards to be helpful and they all provide exceptional and very cheery service. The Luskin is also tip free which is quite astonishing and appreciated. Its location is right on the middle of the UCLA campus and is convenient to everything on the west side of L.A. the hotel is spotless and quiet and the food at Plateia, the restaurant, is as outstanding as it is unique. We were dining with a friend who is 101+ and rather hard of hearing. Graham, the restaurant manager, spontaneously moved us into a private dining room so conversations would be easier to hear without the hub BTB and noise of a busy dining room. The courtyard, right outside the lobby and adjacent to the dining room, is fabulous and a great place to eat in nice weather.

While I was there, the hotel changed its previous lobby complimentary coffee bar to a ticketed only one-cup-a-day cup of coffee. I think this smacks of chintzy cheapness and should be eliminated. They provide two different complimentary newspapers daily: the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times. I would prefer that the Luskin eliminate the free newspapers because I can get them on my computer (and also not have ink on my hands), and return to providing complimentary coffee instead! Many hotels offer complimentary hot coffee and tea through the day. The Luskin should as well. A minor but critical detail … the restaurant only offered one flavor of jam/jelly — strawberry. I am allergic to strawberries and would have liked an alternative jam/jelly for my toast.

Location : Right at the front entrance of UCLA. Walking distance (10 min) to the main street, where the shops and restaurants are. The neighborhood feels safe and vibrant. Its proximity to The Getty Center (10 min drive) is an added bonus. Service : Staff are always helpful (no gratuity needed at the restaurant) Deco & Amenities : Very modern, clean and comes with everything you need. Breakfast : There is an a-la-carte restaurant on the 1st floor. Price is very reasonable and food is nice.

Excellent location and rooms are very well appointed. It’s our favorite place to stay when visiting our daughter at UCLA. And the food at Plateia is very good

Wish we had a fridge in our room as we travelled by car and had some food items that we had to throw away.

Beautiful center. The setting, decor, facilities and amenities were all top-notch. The bed was quite comfortable and I slept well. I had a meal at the restaurant that was outstanding, as was the room service meal that I also enjoyed. The bathroom was lovely and had a very good collection of quality guest toiletries. I was attending a graduation on campus at UCLA and was easily able to walk to the location from the hotel. It was quite pricey but I felt that the quality of the experience was worth the price.

A better quality of coffee in the room itself would have been more enjoyable than the one that was available. If I recall correctly, it was Paul Neuman’s coffee. Peet’s, Starbucks or Nespresso all would be much better choices. The coffee just was incongruous with the rest of the thoughtful attention to detail.

This is a hidden gem of a hotel and very good value. A very nice building in a great location in the middle of the UCLA campus. The staff are great. The restaurant is REALLY great - and they refuse to take tips (which I love). The rooms are very nicely appointed and there is very nice artwork throughout the hotel, with an especially impressive lobby. The parking is also very convenient and reasonably priced.

Two things could be improved: one, the pillows are oddly very small; two, there is no refrigerator in the rooms. The rooms are slightly on the small side for a modern hotel, but certainly sufficient.

We stayed at the Luskin for 3 nights and we found it exceptional. The room was very comfortable with a large bed, very nice bathroom, coffee maker, and stylish decor. The restaurant, Plateia, was excellent - we ate there several times and the food and service were fantastic. We really loved the location as a “different” place to stay in LA - we took the opportunity to explore the beautiful UCLA campus including the sculpture garden and the Mathias Botanical Garden, both well worth a visit. We also explored Westwood Village including visiting Hammer Museum, as well as visiting the amazing Getty Center, an absolute must. The Luskin itself is a comfortable, lovely oasis and the staff were just wonderful, and note they are paid a fair wage and it is a gratuity free zone, so their hospitality was genuine. Highly recommend this hotel!

The Moroccan inspired breakfast was exceptional and the service warm and very professional. Really enjoyed al-fresco eating outside in the beautiful olive tree garden.

When we arrived (after a long drive from Las Vegas) the hotel had metal barriers all around the entrance. The staff treated us with a very unfriendly manner asking for our details from the street and talking on the radio as if we were wanted criminals. No word of 'sorry' or 'excuse there's excess security due to x' or anything such like. Left us now wanting to return ever again.

it's a perfect location to drive to all of West LAs' hot spots within 15 minutes. This is a zero gratuity hotel ! Tipping is not allowed anywhere, including at the restaurants! The rooms are beautiful, as are the lobby and patio. The on-site restaurant food is reasonably priced and delicious. Also, big dog friendly! Ralph's grocery store with an inside Starbucks is located 10 minutes walk away (just turn right from the hotel front). The Ralph/Starbucks is a godsend for early risers since it's open at 6 AM.

The staff was amazing (special thanks to Sonia at the front desk). They genuinely tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I’ll certainly book again. The rooms were decently sized. The windows had impeccable sound insulation. A/C was quiet and powerful.

The rooms didn’t have microwave which could be okay if there was a communal microwave somewhere for us to heat up our sandwiches. Self parking spots in the garage ($37 for overnight parking) are limited. We check in late and it was full by then. We were redirected to a parking structure next to the building which was a very short walk away from the hotel thanks to the bridge between the two buildings. It cost us $16 to park there all day.
