Our visit to the Creekside Lodge was perfect and incredibly relaxing. Todd went above & beyond to connect with us and make sure every aspect of our stay was delightful. He is a fountain of knowledge about Markleeville. The rooms were sparkling clean and cute, and the bed was super comfortable - we had our best sleep in ages. We enjoyed our morning coffee outside our room, looking out over the beautiful Carson River. We had bagels across the street at the Upcountry Cafe while listening to the best ever R&B collection (put together by the chef). Saletti's Stonefly restaurant across the road was a lively and a delicious experience in fine dining: definitely reserve ahead. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Creekside and in Markleeville, as we continue to celebrate our yearlong 50-year anniversary. We will definitely return.
Nothing! The room was a little small, but it had everything we needed. And the location, cleanliness, charm, and our hosts made up for it.

Beautiful room, comfortable bed, very clean. The owners are absolutely delightful and I love the accessible coffee room
The location is in the heart of tiny Markleeville which is convenient but the sidewalk was right by my window and I could hear everyone walking by as well as car traffic. The room was a little stuffy ( no A/C) which was fine as long as I had the window open but I couldn't sleep with it open because of the street front location.

We had a big double suite, two rooms with a kitchenette between them, so our grown kids had their own space. Our two big dogs could move freely between rooms. Kitchenette had a rice cooker and air fryer as well as microwave, sink and fridge. There was a second mini-fridge in the king bedroom. Cabinets were stocked with dishes, coffee, some cooking supplies. Check in was super easy. Beds were genuinely comfortable. Plenty of pillows and big fluffy towels. The staff was just lovely. Markleeville is tiny but has two good restaurants for dinner and one for breakfast, plus a well stocked general store, post office and library, all within a few steps from the Creekside Lodge. Would gladly stay there for several days next time.
The town is way up in the mountains, so of course cell phone coverage was spotty and Wi-Fi was slow. This in no way reflects on the lodge, just a thing to take into account when traveling there.

The room was updated like a boutique hotel, very pleasant and comfortable, though small. Exterior has a rustic charm. (Warning: Rooms were off a walkway that required us to lug our bags from the street.) Excellent location: Inn is located next to a brew pub and across from an upscale restaurant (advance reservations recommended -- we ended up at the brew pub because wait was going to be an hour).
The Booking.com listing advertised a "deluxe king studio" with hot tub & kitchen. For all that, the rate of $170 seemed reasonable. Instead, we had a queen room (quite lovely in and of itself) and not even a refrigerator. The manager wasn't around when we checked in, but the next morning all he said was, "Yeah, we've been trying to get the listing changed." It may be that $170 is the going rate in that area, because it's a very small town without many other options, I think.

Super friendly and helpful service. We stopped here while bike-packing (cyclist friendly) and they were happy to let us store our bikes while we explored the town and had lunch at the brewery (right next door), until our room was ready (which they got finished early for us even though we didn't ask for this). Rooms were spacious and thoughtfully appointed, smelled great. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Todd also gave us a tip to call the restaurant across the road for a reservation as it was super popular (food was amazing).
That we couldn't stay longer.

Innkeeper was very friendly and checked to make sure we were all comfortable, had what we needed. Room was very clean with all the necessities including a mini-fridge. So wonderfully quiet at night and peaceful Markleeville Creek runs next to the inn where you can catch the sunset and hear the water flowing.
Only down side was we came mid-week so no restaurants were open. Thankfully there was hot water and a few drink options like tea, instant coffee. We planned for this and brought breakfast.

This location is very remote but conveniently located only 25 min away from my favorite Kirkwood ski destination. On top of it, it is only 3 miles away from Grove National State Park with lots of hiking trails and amazing Hotsprings opened to the public ( there are only 4 times you can use it though, just check in advance)! The town is very small and only has two places to eat and tiny convenience store. But if you like outdoor adventures and to be away from hustle and bustle of busy South lake Tahoe, this place is the best!!! The staff on duty is only 9-5pm. But they leave you a very thorough voice message on the phone in advance with instructions if you arrive after business hours. It s very convenient so you do not have to deal with reception etc. Check out is super easy! Just leave the keys inside the room and open the blinds so they see you left. I also love that there is separate little room with coffee, hot chocolate, hot/cold water filter and condiments. So you can have little something in the morning and warm your soul with sweet hot chocolate during the day. I love it!!!

Clean, convenience to restaurants next door. The innkeeper was really nice.
After we paid (and left), they wanted to add a fee for our dog they had not disclosed before we arrived. Then they said thy needed to do a ‘deep cleaning’ because of our dog who has arthritis and was unable to move around the room on their wood floor. We kept her on a carpet we brought from home. She never even roamed around the room. Except for not making the bed, we left the room as we found it.

Great spot! Travel with the pup was so easy…it was great! Markleeville isn’t the biggest town and Creekside is right in the middle :) It was definitely a hot night…but we are having a heatwave in CA.
It’s definitely a cooler weather spot…but there are ceiling fans which is fabulous and access to fresh filtered water. The windows have screens that are intact and the windows open super wide…so it was all good in the end :) I would definitely come back!

I liked the location and the service. Staff was really nice. Across the street is a fantastic restaurant and cafe. Markleeville is also super cute.
My complaints are not major. I wish the heating was a little bit more even. The room would heat up, but the bathroom was cold. I wish there was a comforter instead of blankets. However;, I would stay here again.
