Location was excellent. Easy on, easy off the 101 but not so close that you could hear the traffic. The room was stylish with good A/C, and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated having a hot water pot that hadn't been used to make coffee, which meant my tea didn't taste like coffee grounds. The bar had a great vibe and the food was excellent. I enjoyed the outdoor space, thought I was disappointed that the AirStream wasn't opened. I appreciated having free WiFi without having to pay a ridiculous resort fee.

The upsell for late checkout was a bit much (just offer it for free if it's available), and $20 for parking seemed excessive.

This is a beautiful, new, modern hotel of exceptional style. Who is the talented designer? Great thoughtfulness was put into every amenity. Bespoke coffee, tea and electric kettle in the room. Extraordinarily comfortable beds with luxurious linens. Brunch was so good that our friends who live in the area said they would return regularly. Every modern convenience, in fact there are even robots in the restaurant to help with the busing. Shout out to Ru, the GM, who when he saw me struggling with a knee scooter for my post-surgery husband came to our aid. I can’t say enough about the all around excellence of the Ameswell!!

I didn’t like paying for parking ($20/nt).

This seems to be a new hotel with an aesthetically pleasing decor. I really like the neon art at the elevator. The outside space is inviting and playful. Law games and tacos were available in the late afternoon and evening, creating a family, and pet friendly environment.

This hotel is 4 or 5 stars, but it lacks somethings I would consider standard at a 4-5 star hotel. Room service for one, and no bellman, plus the shower only had an overhead shower head. Upscale facilities always have an additional hand held shower head. The last thing is to be green house keeping is only every 3rd day unless you call and ask for daily service. For me, part of the experience of being in a luxury hotel is leaving the room and then returning and it's all made up. It's like magic, you don't tell them when you leave, or when you plan to return, but the room is always done. It just seems most hotels are providing less services, however the rates do not reflect the reduction of services.

This hotel is immaculate, modern, and welcoming. There is tasteful decor throughout the lounge and common areas, which include a fireplace, as well as other secluded nooks and seating areas. Our room was quiet, fresh and boasted a large TV. Great use of colors and space. The beds were plush and simultaneously supportive. The mounted, adjustable nightlights at the bedside with dimmers were a nice touch. Great water pressure noted in the rainwater shower. Staff were pleasant, professional, and readily accommodated a late check-out. Of the hotels my family stayed at during our week-long vacation in California, this was easily our favorite. We will definitely be coming back.

The $20 fee for parking.

Loved the fresh fruit at the downstairs little market. Loved the look of the place. Loved the pool. Loved the room decor. Loved the kettle. Absolutely loved all the hooks/places to hang things in the room! Loved the sparkling water downstairs. Loved the text from the hotel.

We could hear what our neighbors were doing, their T.V., etc. I would have expected better sound protection in a hotel that charges you to park on site. Also, it seems like a cheap quick fix for housekeeping to leave the huge black containers with towels in the hallway. It was right outside our door so we would hear people banging it. On day 2 of our stay, we were gone from 10-5 & did not have the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. Housekeeping never came…seemed to come later, like 5-6pm, which was too late for us. I see why the black towel towers are left out, but it just felt very sketchy. Especially because it appears that some people shoved old towels in the towel tower, so it was hard to tell if the towels or carrier were actually clean.

Had such a great stay at this hotel! Stayed overnight after a concert with some friends and we had such a great experience. Friendly staff and beautiful rooms. Loved the decor throughout the hotel and the outside lounge areas. Super cute photo op area right by the Airstream out front. Wish we were able to stay longer to enjoy more of the cute outdoor area and the hotel restaurant. Great location, super short drive to the Shoreline Amphitheater. Parking was reasonably priced as well. The parking garage is a very short walk to the hotel entrance. Would absolutely stay here again!!

Nothing! Everything exceeded our expectations. :)

This was our first time staying at the Ameswell. I would most definitely stay there again. It's right off the freeway but it was very quiet (no freeway noise). Also, very close to Shoreline Amphitheatre. The entire facility was very clean and staff was very helpful and had excellent customer service skills. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. My husband said this was the best nights rest he's had in a long time! Beautiful pool/entertainment area. Also dog friendly if you bring your four-legged fur baby. Overall, it was an excellent experience!

The only downside was you have to pay $20 to park your car in their parking garage. The parking structure is right next to the hotel and very secure but it seems strange to have to pay for parking at place when you are staying in their facility.

I love the staff and team here at the hotel, they are always friendly and accommodating. The food in the ROGER restaurant is excellent, but don't expect the typical options on the menu, there is a nice mix of California/Continental cuisine on the menu. The wine list is excellent. The hamburgers are great, the green salads, delicious and the cheese board in the bar is also substantial. I also love the ALWAYS OPEN coffee bar in the lobby, with early breakfast treats and the best croissant around, just as good as Paris. Highly recommended.

There was one day when the cleaning team simply missed my room, but it was quickly handled the next day. That explains the slightly lower rating, as I was on the 5th floor, near the elevator, and could not fathom how my room was missed.

The breakfast sandwich was excellent. It tasted very gourmet and came with a hearty side of potatoes. I also ordered the monkey bread, which was delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall a great experience.

The Roger restaurant was closed and roped off at breakfast time. There was a lot of lounge seating and although the visual aesthetic of all of these seating niches was pleasant, I’m a tall person and would have preferred a higher table, which would have made it more comfortable to eat my breakfast.
