Location and staff

The new menu at the bar. Very disappointing. Caesar salad had way too many croutons. The burger had two very thin patties rather than one larger one. No flavor or texture. Cauliflower soup was very greasy and not heated through making it inedible. The server, America, became argumentative and defensive when we expressed our dissatisfaction. A simple “I’m sorry you were unhappy.” Would have been fine. Instead she went into long explanations and justifications. The rest of your staff at the front desk, Janeen, Tiffany, and Carl, were, as always, superb in their attitude and performance as well as just plain nice! We always look forward to seeing them. They are the real heroes of your staff!

Location was convenient to shops and restaurants. Room was clean, functional, and fairly quiet. There was ample car parking for hotel guests.

As other reviewers have commented, despite the recent remodel the room furnishings provide zero drawer space for unpacking. There was a small closet for hanging clothes, but the lack of drawers meant living out of a suitcase for the duration. Similarly, there is no storage in the bathroom so toiletries need to be stored on the small counter surrounding the sink. The parking garage provides direct access to each hotel floor, but the layout of the property means it can be a longish walk from the garage to room. Therefore it's worth requesting a room closer to the garage entrance if that's a preference.

Stayed 2 years ago and was quite dated. Major improvement after renovations carried out. Great location! Staff friendly and courteous.

A few simple things. Instead a polystyrene cups, China mugs would be better. Probably a kettle instead of a very cheap looking coffee dripalator. Spoons to stir milk and sugar. Also was there for 5 nights and only had 2 tea bags. Housekeeping only replaced towels and emptied bins. As I said - simple things. These make a difference.

Buffet breakfast is excellent. The room bed is very comfortable, and the room is very carefully cleaned. Parking can be accessed directly from the room floor. The staff is nice and attentive. The hotel is in a nice area in Pasadena old town, and also close to the freeway.

Unfortunately the room is made only once every other day. The A/C in the room is quite noisy even in the lowest setting, I had to turn it off during the night.

I liked everything and everyone on the staff that I encountered.

Booking.com Made a reservation. Paid with credit card. never got confirmation of payment. Went to hotel and staff worked with me to find it. My experience with booking.com was very disappointing. At least it was consistent. I have always been let down by booking.com. I am mad at myself for using booking.com

The room was big, confortable, with a small refrigerator (which we did not use). The beds and pillows were very confortable. The hotel is well located quite near the old town with restaurants and bars nearby. It has a smoking place by the pool. The staff was very friendly.

At the beginning they did not "refresh" the room for two (2) days, but after I complained they did it every day.

Loved how it’s right in the downtown area, and it was so convenient to walk just a short distance to restaurants and stores. The lobby and pool area were a pleasant area to hang out in. All the staff were very friendly and professional. We had a noise issue with guests in the room next to us who were partying at 2 am. We called the front desk about it and eventually the guests stopped. The next morning, we came down to the front desk and I was impressed how it was handled by the woman there at the front desk where she expected us to come down to bring up the issue, and we were more than enough compensated for the trouble, providing us late checkout, offering us free breakfast, and refunding us a significant amount from our bill. Overall, we left very satisfied with our stay, and I would certainly stay there again.

Although the lobby area was beautiful, the room itself was a bit dated. The bathroom sink area and toilet shower area especially could use an update.

The best thing about this hotel is its great location in Old Town Pasadena. We had a dinner reservation at Cafe Santorini (excellent!) and our Navigator app showed the distance at just a four minute walk. It's an even a shorter walk to some good local bars we enjoyed, like the Blind Donkey and Speakeasy. Our room was comfortable and quiet and we got a great night's sleep.

We will definitely stay here again next time we're in Old Town but two minor negatives were: 1) There was very little counter space at the bathroom sink for getting ready, especially for two people, and 2) The breakfast was super-average and buffet style, even though you could order eggs any way; I'd definitely try walking to a local breakfast spot next time.

Great welcome, lovely pool area and an almost perfect location for the old town restaurants, shops and bars etc. The room was spacious and the air con/heating was very efficient. Shower was great and the bed was dreamy. A very comfortable hotel and we would definitely stay there again if we’re back in the area.

The pillows were just awful. The bed was fab but the pillows were just not up to the job.

The location is terrific. The beds were very comfortable. But after asking for a quiet room we got a room on the high traffic side of the bldg. Not wanting to get the staff who assigned us the room in tbl we did not mention until morning of check out. The individual at the front desk who we had visited with previously was mortified that happened and adjusted our bill.
