Great find in Crested Butte town. Easy walk to Elk Avenue and all the shops and restaurants. Loved the afternoon freshly baked cookies and wine. Great atmosphere and comfortable space. One of those places that you actually get a room key upon check-in, not a card or your phone. Bikes available to use free of charge for a stroll around town. Great continental breakfast with many choices including fresh-squeezed OJ. This was one of my favorite hotels I have stayed in anywhere over the years.
If the hotel could have slowed down time, that would have been great. Seriously, I can't think of much I didn't like. We had to get on the road early in the AM on day of checkout and missed breakfast so perhaps that could have started an hour earlier but I understand the start time for staffing and preparation and it makes sense for most.

The location of the Guest Haus was great, and I was able to park right out front. I could walk right out and explore the town within a 5 minute walk ~ which included a grocery store and a great sandwich place. The room was clean, and everything was thoughtfully laid out - two chocolates on the bed and plenty of plush towels and toiletries. There was a happy hour from 4 to 5 p.m. with wine and multiple kinds of cookies; quite a few of us joined in this and relaxed in the cozy main lounge area by the fireplace. There was also a beverage station with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, which was really nice.
A few informational pieces were given verbally, and it would have been great to have them written down on a card or handout inside the bedroom. It wasn't quite clear all the spaces to eat breakfast the following morning and it was only later on that I realized an upstairs area provided some larger tables with seating. There were three areas to sit by the fireplace but not necessarily great to do without a table. Everything else was great!

The staff was friendly and courteous. Our room was nice, quiet, comfortable, with a single queen. The bathroom was spotless with nice towels. The bed was super comfortable with very comfortable linens. As a skier, i liked that there was a wax room where I could perp my skis. The common spaces were comfortable and inviting with a large fireplace downstairs and nice sunny seating upstairs. There’s a Keurig coffee maker available all day, with coffee. An excellent continental b’fast. Oh, cookies and wine at 4pm everyday was a nice way to start the evening. The lodge is a short walk to the bus, too.
There isn’t a tv I n the room, but on the other hand, that’s a plus. It lends to a more social atmosphere and keeps the room quiet.

I liked the property because it was not an impersonal lodging experience such as we find often on trips. If you don't know what "European style lodging" is like, make sure you find out and make sure it is in line with your expectations. You won't have microwave or fridge in your room. Was there a TV? I don't actually remember. But were there other wonderful people around while I was having breakfast in the common areas? YES!
Honestly hard to improve on. I mean, in winter you're not at a ski-in/ski-out location, but you are close to downtown with shops and restaurants. In summer, you're certainly very close to everything you want.

This place is cute. The very nice owners are in the process of upgrading, painting, etc. Rooms are small, no TV. Neither bothered us. Comfy beds, nice towels, dark makeup towel - very nice touch! 2 cozy sitting areas, one upstairs with a TV, the other downstairs with a fireplace. Nice sitting area & views outside on 2nd floor. Nice continental breakfast - hardboiled eggs, Danish, breads, cereal, fruit, yogurt with yummy homemade granola. Cookies at 4pm. Worth noting - the new owners have put in all new windows and are in the middle of adding molding. They will be painting too. COVID put a damper on many things, as we all know. Fixing up takes time.
Really nothing. Just know the rooms are small & no TV. Some folks might find issues with that, we were fine. We relaxed by the fireplace or TV area. Not in the room.

The location to the Historic Downtown area and main road were huge assets! Everything I needed for the few days was walkable. It's quaint and charming without being cloying, it felt quiet at nighttime, and it was a great place to stay while being busy all day.
There isn't a lot of noise buffering; you can hear quite a lot outside your room. I imagine folks could also hear me on a business call in my room! If you're traveling alone, the size of room is fine, but I could easily imagine it being a bit cramped for others. WiFi had weak security/privacy when logging in, so if they can change that, it would be greatly appreciated! It's a frequent thing at most places, and it does impact my work.

Location is amazing! It is right at the end of the main street, we walked into town each day. Really close to a bus stop that takes you to the ski area easily. Nice breakfast spread. Outdoor hot tub was very nice after skiing!
Room was very small and somewhat noisy since we were right next to the common area. Bathroom was old and despite being clean it didn’t appear so due to rust and old paint. Booked a queen room but the bed was a full not a queen.

The Cristiana is about as close to home as you can get. There's a central fire place where guests gather and enjoy complimentary cookies and tea/coffee apres-ski. The breakfast (included) was quite nice, and the hotel is very close to the bus stop that goes up to the ski area (which is only about 5 minutes away). I was traveling by myself, and every afternoon after skiing I chatted with other guests at the fire and met quite a few travelers from all over the country. Upstairs and overlooking the fireplace below is a room where you work, watch TV or read. Again, this is a common area that's very warm and comfortable. This is a very cozy, European-style hotel. If you're looking for the comforts of a down to earth experience, this is the place for you. I enjoyed staying here and I would definitely come back.
The doors and walls are somewhat thin, so sound comes through into the room. If you have a room close to the great room you may have to contend with the noise of people coming in late. However, the town of Crested Butte doesn't have a major nightlife scene, so people are generally in by 11:00, at least that was my experience for the time I was there in January. There was a fan in the room though, so I turned that on for the white noise and slept fine.

Wonderfully cozy! Tiny room but absolutely clean and adequate. We were on second floor so we just stepped out our door into the upstairs living area with couches and tables and lamps - like having a condo instead of a hotel room! The huge fireplace downstairs was also wonderful. Staff? She was GREAT! So pleasant. Yes, this stay was very European: spare rooms, wonderful lodge-like feel, very good breakfast, very convivial atmosphere with staff and other guests! My only advice: please do not "modernize" this gem!
Hot tub was down a walkway that was pretty much covered in ice . . . couldn't even think of making the trek! No big deal as I wasn't staying there to go to a hot tub. Really, nothing else to not like.

Very thoughtful amenities like free city bikes, cookies and wine on arrival. Breakfast by the fire in the morning was quite nice. Fresh squeezed orange juice, yogurt parfait and croissants. Rooftop deck with view of Mt crested Butte good place to enjoy glass of wine. Walking distance to everything in town.
Room very European in size, but that's why they say a European style lodge I guess. Windows have been replaced but missing the trim so foam insulation and cut edges of wall still visible.
