Old-school Miami-flavor hotel. The double-queen suite was very good size, lots of room. Great location, fair price, solid overall value.
So, one of the major downsides of an older hotel (this one was 1950's, if I recall correctly) is the constant and perpetual maintenance. It felt like (based on a single night stay) that the ownership is overly profit-oriented. The signs of this are - very short staffed (underpaid and overworked employees), some key maintenance items poorly done or not done (hiring cheap contractors who cut corners), and incomplete selection of amenities and services. Honestly, ownership should increase prices 20% and put 100% of that revenue into maintenance, staffing, and advertising - the property really is a gem in the rough, and with a bit of TLC, could be extremely successful. The idea of milking it for every penny while shortcutting everything is just short-sighted and, frankly, heartbreaking.

chill very relaxed we got a room in the corner next/close to the street. private and what we wanted
if I had to pick something maybe the nearby parking? not sure, we liked everything for the type of trip we had. a quick one where we were barely at the hotel. just went to sleep and maybe hangout very small amount of time. it’s not a hotel to stay and have a week long stay (unless you plan to barely be there) it’s one of those passing by very cute and comfortable hotels. if you wanna use the pool good too it seemed very nice.

excellent value, we mislaid my wife’s watch and contacted the hotel from aboard our cruise ship to see if we had mislaid it at the hotel,Billy the manager immediately replied he had found it at the bottom of the safe, we arranged to return to the hotel to pick it up, we can’t thank Billy enough for the hotels help. The hotel itself has all the facilities you require for a relaxing stay, variety of accommodations, palm tree covered pool area with sun lounges, seating area’s etc.Billy & staff are exceptional, room was kept very clean as was the hotel & outside areas. We would highly recommend this hotel, the area around the hotel has some excellent restaurants, local shops for essentials, 5 min walk to a cvs store,15 min.walk to the Galleria shopping mall,& large Publix super market. We would return to this hotel when in Fort Lauderdale again. Thank you Billy & staff. Alan & Gwen Moran UK.

The hotel is close to the main central area of Fort Lauderdale and the Bonnet House, water taxi and beach are easy to access by foot. Parking is plentiful and free around the hotel and there is a very good Italian restaurant 5 minutes away by foot along the main road into Fort Lauderdale. The room was spacious and quiet with a terrace area in front with a table chairs and lounger. There was a swimming pool but we did not use it.
The lack of reception staff after 1800 is poor and means one's is almost forced to arrive by that time. The former cafe/bar is closed so one has to go elsewhere for breakfast or a drink. The hotel is old and whilst in reasonable condition is in parts a bit rundown i.e. the laundry area

We arrived after closing hours but were given clear instructions on how to get in & find our room key. The kitchenette was cute and functional, the bed not bad, the A/C good, the shower good too. There is a hot pool outside for guests but we were too tired to check it out. If you get there by dinner time, check out Serafina's Italian restaurant down the street - DELICIOUS! They were able to get us in immediately despite it being a popular spot. The trick is to agree to sit inside since the waterside patio is in high demand.
We stayed one night on our way back from the Caribbean to our home city. Only one day before our arrival, we received a msg from the hotel saying that their front desk hours had changed & we would be arriving after closing time. We had to pay online in advance in order to receive instructions on how to get in after hours, which we had no way of printing out. The combination of being in a foreign country and in transit to Ft. Lauderdale made this very stressful - we were frantically trying to finish the process in a tropical airport lounge with very spotty internet access.

The hotel was lovely, we had everything we needed and the room was clean. We also had a mini kitchen with fridge and coffee mashine. Washing and drying mashine were also available which helped us a lot. The beach is either a good walk or you can take a bus which stops close to the hotel. There is free parking near the hotel for your car (but it is expensive to park near the beach). Our host, who welcomed us at the reception was extremely helpful. He told us all about the neighboorhood, the restaurants nearby, the boat show happening in the area, parking options etc. I would highly recommend this hotel.

unique place. not your norm hotel. staff was great. only down fall is there is no nightly staff. needed some sheets for extra bed and no one answered the after hours number. not a huge deal. would stay again.
parking. limited parking on the street was only issue.

We had everything that we needed in a nice clean spacious room. Despite there being no car park there was always room on the street. The hotel is also into the area covered by Circuit, the free golf buggy style transport.
We chose this hotel against others because it did breakfast, but it doesn’t ☹️ The building is old, by their own admission, built in the 50s, so there’s no sound proofing. We could hear everything around us including the decking repair men who started at 8am everyday!! Complete with power tools and radio!!

Delightful place. Very quaint and comfortable. Initially, we were concerned about the area. Turned out to be great with wonderful eating places within walking distance. The host was great and very accomodating. We stayed 2 nights before boarding our Princess Cruise ship. Priced right, very close to port and enjoyed it much more than the bigger name brand hotels. We will definitely choose this location again.
Can't think of anything!

Centrally located motel like accommodations. Excellent staff that obviously take pride in their property and go above and beyond to meet or exceed your expectations. Room is gigantic and all the furniture is updated and new. Had a kitchenette we didn't use but looked awesome. Shower was nice with a strong steady flow. Bathroom didn't have privacy with louver doors so be prepared. Overall, a nice stay for an older property.
I'm personally not a fan of doors that open to the outside. Not sure if there is an elevator for anyone with accessible issues although we were on the second floor up one flight of stairs. Plastic chairs outside the room and our next door neighbors were hanging out there during most of our stay, leaving their room door open. I thought that was odd.
