The location was central to our planned activities. Convenient exit off I-88 then west on frontage road to Galena Ave and you are there. The frontage road name is Bloody Gulch, how about that! May have been a battle site during the Blackhawk War. Everything was clean and comfortable. Truck stop store (Road Ranger) across the street with good coffee. Dixon is a wonderful little town worth exploring. Childhood home of Ronald Reagan nearby. I remember seeing Dutch in the Montgomery Wards downtown maybe in the early '60's (no longer there but noted on map in front of new office building on 2nd St and Galena). Ed Vaile park on the northwest side of town is interesting. The above ground swimming pool is still there but closed to the public. One of three such pools (I think) in the US. Ed Vaile was a great uncle of mine. He was a merchant and a local councilman. If you have time, a 15 mile trip east on Hwy 38 will get you to my childhood home, Ashton. You can't get there from 88. No exit. One block south of the highway is Main Street and my favorite cafe on earth, The Huddle. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dine with the locals and enjoy the charm of this little village of 1000 people. If you have children then Griffith's Park on the northern most side of town is a good bet. Main part of the park is in a stone/gravel quarry but lush green grass carpets the entire park. New playground for the kids. There is a picnic shelter with tables and a stone fireplace. There is a publication listing all the places to see and activities in northwest Illinois. Probably can find on Google search.

I had to go back home in Florida.

Proximity to Interstate and Downtown. Staff was extremely friendly. Needed to check in a day early and the process was simple and cheaper than anticipated. Room was clean, comfotable and what you would expect from Super 8.

The breakfast was poor, and I felt for the location the room was a little high. The people were great and the room was nice.

Because of Covid 19 not seeing the breakfast bar set up is sad. Not Super 8 fault. I just hope we get back to the full normal when you can have breakfast, coffee, swim have a jacuzzi at a hotel the way we use too.
