We always stay here when in Bloomington. The property is constantly being updated, so don't let the very affordable price fool you. Our rooms have always been clean and nicely decorated. Our tub had some nicks in it, but it was a metal tub that would be very expensive to replace.

This is the only place that I stay at that requires everyone staying in the room to show an ID when checking in. I forget this every time and have to go back to the car to get my husband's ID. That is annoying! But, I guess this might be standard procedure for a college town so that wild parties don't occur.

Very very clean and room is very comfortable and well done. breakfast was very decent. I had a surprisingly great experience! Despite its rating, the place was impressively clean, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay. What amazed me the most was the affordability of the hotel compared to the excellent service and amenities they provided. I highly recommend this gem for budget travelers looking for a clean, friendly, and cost-effective option.

Cannot think of anything

The staff was super friendly. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. A/C worked well, the room was a little humid but it is summer and the door goes to the outside so it not anything I wouldn’t expect. The breakfast options were a little limited but it was enough for us, they had square donuts which was a super nice surprise, the kids loved it!

The lobby and some other areas were dated, and some cosmetic/appearance items need to be replaced, but I believe they have been renovating. For the price it was not a deal breaker for us as things still seemed cleaned.

Don’t let the outside look of properly dampen your opinion. The inside was clean and rooms have been updated. it’s an older (holiday Inn motel. with outside room entrance). the outside is in need of some brightening and freshening, but they have the rooms looking clean, fresh and updated. People were very nice & welcoming. sleepers bar a good place to have a drink .

The outside needs some clean up and decoration, but I think they are improving rooms and inside of property and that is happening.

We made the reservation hoping for the best recognizing that because this is not a chain hotel we were kinda rolling the dice. We rolled the dice and we won. The value of the room was great. The room was clean and exactly what we needed. We did not spend a lot of time in the room but we got a good nights sleep, a hot shower, and a typical hotel breakfast. The front desk staff contacted us the morning of our reservation to get details from us and let us know as soon as our room was ready. Just an FYI the do ask for everyone’s ID and they do not accept cash payment- a small nuisance but one I am willing to deal with if it keeps the hotel clean and it helps eliminate human trafficking and other seedy activity that might take place in a hotel.

The shower head was too low. I am 5’11 and I had to bend my knees and tilt my head way back to get my head wet.

The location is superb for me. I love the courtyard and the relative quiet after a road trip; I'll be visiting again in spring and summer to fully enjoy it. Staff is delightful, very helpful, and very accommodating to needs and requests. I look forward to seeing the completed improvements that they're undertaking.

I understand that they're going through upgrades and renovations, and that's great, but it can be a little inconvenient at times. The room I was in most recently was a little more worn than others I've had there. I reminded them that as they renovate, they need to adjust their shower heads to accommodate people take than about 5'3", and that the deadbolts need some refits to make sure they work correctly.

The rooms were nice, breakfast was good and the Staff were excellent. It was quiet and peaceful stay. Everyone was super nice and we had an awesome time staying here. Everyone was quiet at quiet time and no one really bothered you at all. They also had a food recommendation paper and we had the best dinner thanks to the staff picks.

We were not talk about anything inside the building so we had no idea there were so many things to see while there. There were molding ceiling tiles throughout the building. The outside walkways on the upper floors were a little nerve wrecking. The pictures on the website were nothing like that actual Inn. The pictures and price made it seem like it would have been a lot nicer then it was.

This was our second time staying at The Cascades and, as usual, it was a great stay. The check-in process is fast and easy and the clerk and all the staff are so very accomidating. They are genuinely concerned with and attentive to the needs of their guest and will go out of their way to ensure a great visit They serve a very tasty, hot breakfast with several other options including Bloomington's famous square donughts. Sleeper's bar is a very nice plae for guest to go and relax, and you just can't find a friendlier, more pleasent bar tender than Sleeper. My girlfriend and I don't even drink alcohol, but we enjoyed our time in Sleeper's. This is an older hotel and bares some signs of aging, They are activly working to restore it and are doing an awesome job, What they may lack in luster for now, is more than made up for in cleanliness, friendliness and their concern and attention to their guest. I would gladly recomend hotel to anyone planning a trip to Bloomington, Indiana,

I wouldn't say anything bad about this place, We felt as though we'd left good friends when we left, and I wouldn't say anything negative about them. The things that could use improvement are being addressed and I'm sure our next stay will show their ongoing efforts as much or more than we seen this time.

The staff is SUPER nice and accomadating! The facility is old and run down, it looks like repairs are ongoing so it may be different when you stay. It really needs an update, that said the value for the price paid would be great if it wasn't IU parents weekend and we paid over $400 a night. BUT every place was super inflated for that weekend. Overall its a good value place. We would stay again.

The facilities are in rough shape. The upper walkways need some help. And our room door did'nt close at the botton.
