Worth the few mile detour from the interstate. Set in a beautiful part of town. Lovely old southern gentile feel. Lots of charm. Built in the early 1900s and attached to the picturesque historic Berea College campus. A delightful change from the modern industrial chain motel. Made to feel welcome. Room was well appointed, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Nicely updated without taking away from original feel. The lobby is grand, very lovely and spacious with separate sitting areas, beautiful furniture, fresh flower arrangements, and a baby grand piano. Each floor has its own beautifully appointed lounge area to read or play table games (available in the lobby). The porch areas have beautiful flowering plants. The coffee shop is a real treat. The staff is kind and thoughtful and attentive. It's the kind of place you just want to stay for a while and relax and forget about the rest of the world. Unfortunately, we had to move on.

Parking was limited and very difficult if you have an oversized vehicle or trailer. The restaurant food is hit or miss. Lots of other food options nearby.

The staff is professional, yet friendly. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was full, but still very quiet. I always love the elegant breakfast. Sitting on the huge veranda at the end of the day is my favorite part of staying here. Walking to the shops for locally made art and craft items is a great way to start the day.

Everything was perfect. If I could change one thing, I would have the dinner service close a little later. I always get there too late. However, there are other places to eat within walking distance if you arrive late like I do.

Historic ambiance. Great location. Most points of interest are within walking distance. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Several nice sitting areas both inside and outside.

Although there was a refrigerator in the room there was no microwave. Due to the heavy traffic, and alot of truck traffic during the day, sitting outside on the lovely porch was a less than enjoyable experience. It was difficult to hold a conversation. It was somewhat quieter later in the evening. The food was not as good as I had anticipated it would be.

The atmosphere of this inn and the quaintness was so unexpected. We were given an old fashion key to unlock our door for our room. The two full size beds were so comfortable. We were given 2 free bottles of water and there was a Keurig in the room for coffee or tea. There was also a functional jet tub to relax those tire muscles from travel. Room service was provided or you could order from the dining room with overhead chandeliers. A separate bar and coffee shop combo was available. There are paintings of Daniel Boone and Lincoln done by Walker. What a treat! We had bypassed this town Berea so often without staying. Now it is definitely on our top list of places to stay off of 75 south of Lexington.

Our dining room experience with wait for our food was a little long. There were only two servers and I believe they also helped in the kitchen. However, they were so pleasant and stayed positive.. The food was served hot and the onion soup was delicious. Worth the wait. The coffee was incredible. They ground and brew as ordered, no stale, bitter coffee served here!

I loved the historic feel of the hotel & the notable pieces of art, pictures, etc. placed throughout the hotel that were educational! My daughter was doing a college visit, so it was wonderful to see how the school is incorporated into the life of the community! We very much enjoyed our visit!

Though I know they were trying to keep the historic feel in the rooms, it made the ambiance of the room stale. They really needed to update carpeting & bedding in the rooms to give it a cleaner, more "new" feel.

This is a beautiful inn with a wonderful history in a quaint college town right off of I 75. We loved that it is staffed by college students as part of its work program to ensure college is accessible to all students. The staff were friendly and professional and the inn was comfortable and clean. We had the misfortune of timing by having to travel the night that Elliot struck so it was 45 and rainy when we went to bed and minus 4 and snowy by morning. Staff assured us of room availability if we needed to extend our stay (we only booked one night as a stop on our drive to Indiana) and they were out early clearing the sidewalks and stairs. You also can’t beat the room rate for the quality of the experience and ambiance. We definitely plan to return, just not during a winter storm. 😊

This was more of an issue for my kids but the on site restaurant caters to a more adult palate. We had no other option for dinner due to weather and paid far more than desired for food no one really enjoyed other than me. I wouldn’t recommend it for kids but it’s great for couples or adults in a family.

I LOVED the Historic Boone Tavern; it was one of the highlights of my three week road trip around some of the (for UK visitors anyway) less visited parts of the US. The place was impeccably clean, staff were very friendly and professional (including some young people for whom working at the hotel is part of their studies), the location (in the centre of town) was great and the hotel has a really nice vibe. I got a bit of a shock to discover that Berea is in a 'dry' county, but fortunately that didn't apply to guests at the hotel. I'd have liked to stay for a second night but (unsurprisingly, I guess) the hotel was full to the rafters so I was compelled to move on.

It was all splendid.

Beautiful, vintage, very unique place! The staff was fantastic, the rooms were very comfortable, our room was just a bit small but very old fashioned and very comfortable and clean. We did not try out the restaurant because we didn't have time, but we heard that the food was good and there were places to eat with in walking distance as well. Nice little location. They issue Keys instead of key cards, which I think was pretty cool and old fashioned. Didn't have to pay extra for parking which is great as well.

For whatever reason it took a very long time for the hot water to come through when I took a shower... I guess the old pipes had to get cranked up!

The Inn is lovely in the style of a southern mansion. From the time I entered I felt the comfort and hospitality you hope to find in any stay away from home. Even traveling with a pet, the staff members were kind and friendly. I was not expecting the property to be located in the village although I knew it was owned by the college. Traffic was not a problem and parking was easy.

The food in the dining room was good, yet the staff was not particularly welcoming. It was a very quiet evening and there was ample opportunity for the server to show interest in providing a good experience.

I loved the gardens late August beautiful weather to sit and bask in the gardens or sun on the front porch at the tables. The gardens were magnificent. I liked the old motel that is in perfect shape. It was the type of historic motel you would like to visit but you want clean. It was. Also the formal dining put on a nice touch!

I can say that I have stayed in hotels and motels for years and this is about the nicest I have ever stayed at for enjoyment and pure beauty. Also it is located in the college district which is an art college and you will find the local shops brimming with artistic endeavors.
