Cute and clean. Good use of the space. Liked the bigger than usual frig and the table and chairs, and the chairs and table in near the unit door. Also the vintage vibe. Convenient location.

No out let in the bathroom was a bit inconvenient. The door was a little difficult to get into place to lock, but figured it out. Overall, enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

I have stayed here before over the past 15 years. Love the small quaint cabin feeling of this hotel. The owners wether past or present seem to carry the same ethos.

We tried to call directly to the hotel and could not speak with anyone. This is the first time booking a small hotel with bookings and was not sure if the room was available or what the number was. The room number was obscure on the Bookings email and didn’t specify the door would be open with the key inside.

The staff was very helpful. The location was close to our ironman race, restaurants, and other amenities. Also, the wiki worked well for us.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like. The only thing that I would improve is that parking. It was a little tight, but manageable. Outside of that, I wouldn't change anything.

We arrived after the front office closed. Thankfully, they had called in advance to let us know the after hours protocol. We also appreciated the quiet location and quaint details, like the outdoor set for each room. The room itself was clean and comfortable. We spent most of our time at Sleeping Bear, but ate breakfast in town. The lodge was so close to main street and all the shops!

The shower was a small shower stall, so we both were banging our elbows on the sides. Also, we thought the price was high for what we got.

This is a very quaint, clean and comfortable 1950's motel. The price was reasonable. Reminded me of traveling with my parents when I was a kid. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

This is not a dislike, but something prospective guests should know. As stated in my above review this is a 1950;s motel. It was built long before any ADA regulations and so it's design is grandfathered in. Therefore if you are a larger than average person or have some physical challenges the rooms may not accomidate you.

Hotel was dated. However, staff very friendly. Room was exceptionally clean! Beds were old but very comfortable. Within walking distance of the water and shopping . Would definitely stay there again.

No hair dryer. Windows air conditioner was noisy.

Everything was great! I’d reccomend to anyone looking for a clean safe place to stay.

There was nothing I disliked, however I recommend smart tv’s in the future. We would have liked to log into some of our streaming accounts.

Nice little place in a decent location for getting around the area. We stayed in one bedroom cottage. It was clean and had everything we needed. Would stay again. Only issue is noted in other section of review.

We stayed in the cottage. The sofa bed was terrible. Basically a frame with springs. Had to just sleep on the couch which was ok since only one person. If needed to accommodate two people it would have been a problem. I would not stay there if needed accommodations for 3-4.

Location, location, location - close in to city - easy walk through city to Lake Michigan. Small block and half walk to beautiful Lake Betsie with park and benches and then along water into delightful city. The hotel manager, Melissa, was very friendly and welcoming. She has worked there over fifteen years and gave us helpful suggestions about touring in the area. Head of Housekeeping was also friendly. Very good wi-fi. We were in a recently renovated room and the bed was comfortable. Although a renovated 50's style motel, the description and photos on Booking were accurate and we knew what to expect about limitations on such a structure. The location on the edge of residential neighborhood was safe and large grocery store is located very close by. Ample parking.

We knew what to expect based upon the Booking description. As an old motel, the rooms are not as big as even newer economy chain hotels but serve the purpose of a clean, safe place to sleep and tour the beautiful surrounding area.
