Although far removed from restaurants (15-20 minutes), it was exactly what we needed for a 2 family meet up to introduce our 2 dogs and ultimately transfer/adopt our foster dog from one couple to another. The common areas were amazing for hanging out with both couples and dogs. The back of the property had tons of open space and wooded trails to a river for walking the dogs. The rooms were spacious, warm, and although a little dated, very homey, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. Hosts were great.

Check in process was a bit cumbersome, a lot of the details could have been provided ahead of time in order to speed up the process once you arrived. The fridge froze our vegetables overnight so perhaps a note on it receommending the correct settings would be nice!

Black River Lodge is a hidden gem very close to nice hiking and sites to visit along Black River Road and beyond. The room we had was very spacious and had a table, chairs and microwave and refrigerator. The views out the very impressive peaked windows showed off the lovely fall foliage. The family who owns the lodge were very friendly and know the area very well, sharing tips of all types about how to appreciate the area. It was like staying with family!

We didn't stay long enough to appreciate the area and the lodge more. Minimum 2 days would be our recommendation... even longer would be nice.

Very quiet and peaceful. My niece and I shared a room but we both had our own area with our own bathroom. It was great!

It was a little way from town, but really not bad at all.

The black river lodge doesn’t feel like a hotel, it feels like a stay with friends. You can always ask the hosts questions or just have a chat with them. It is also located near beautiful waterfalls and the black river harbor.

Brittney greeted us on our arrival and showed us around the lodge - It was nice having someone take the time to tell us about the area and give us some tips on the best sights. Our room was spacious and had all the necessary amenities.

Great location. Our hosts noticed we brought our bicycles and told us about the Iron Belle Trail, which was a beautiful trail to ride. We took a walk on the property down to the river. This is a beautiful place to stay.

we only stayed for one night but wish we had more time to spend here. the location is beautiful. The waterfalls are close and easy to get to. it was fun exploring to find them. The owners are friendly and very helpful.

It's very close to the Black River. There are a lot of falls and scenic areas.

It's a litter far to towns. If you want to find some restaurants, those are not close.

Family owned, personable, quiet as we were practically the only ones there, good location for our plans
