All I have to say is - upgraded bathroom! My room had a huge, modern, and beautifully tiled (not one of those plastic shells hotels often place over an old tub), walk-in shower that was bigger than the shower at my house! I appreciated the mini kitchenette, which helped with preparing my dog's food. The mini fridge was also large and spacious to hold all of my road trip snacks and drinks. And I love the dark bedding, was very comfortable. Ice machine was very close to my room. Dog potty area was convenient.

When I arrived (after the check-in time), my room was not available, despite the front desk staff giving me a key. This resulted in an awkward encounter with the cleaning crew. Not a huge deal, but a minor inconvenience after driving a LONG way. They also seem to put all of the people with dogs in a certain section, right next to each other. The walls are thin, and we could hear barking from a neighboring dog.

Comfortable bed; great amenities (microwave/mini refrigerator with seperate freezer); pool. Easy check-in/out. The continental breakfast includes hard boiled eggs, yogurt, mini-waffle maker, fruit, pastries, coffee, juices....Staff were all friendly and welcoming. We asked for a restaurant recommendation and couldn't have been happier to have dinner at the local HIDEAWAY, just 1 mile away in the small downtown. Would absolutely stay here again.

This was wonderful! The lobby was adorable, the staff was friendly, helpful and on point with giving us a disabled unit. Our room was lavish; high beds, soft mattresses, incredible linen and a real comforter. The television had good menu options and was easily maneuvered through. The kitchenette was super convenient with a separate sink, glass top stove, tall mini fridge, microwave and a coffee/tea maker with plenty of fixings. Their shower was outstanding with dual shower heads, including a handheld. Our unit had a permanent disability seat and small rubber lip to keep water from over flowing. The place was immaculate, and they clearly take pride in offering a cut above everyone else. I like the location because you're actually in the town, not right by the freeway.

Can't really think of any negatives here. Maybe more continental breakfast options. They have a waffle maker and cereal, I believe, and some Sarah Lee style pastries. Coffee was the best part.

We had a big family group with 4 children. Our rooms were next to each other, which was important. We were close to the office where we could get pool towels so we could swim and paper plates when we needed them for our pizza. We had fun in the pool. It was nice and clean. Everything was great! The beds were really comfy. The bathrooms were so clean. My family really enjoyed the breakfast. The food was fresh and delicious. Thank you so much!! :)

This is the few times I have written an actual review of a hotel because I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Drove to the location and first thing I saw was the train tracks across the street and wasn't sure I wanted to go in. But as in several reviews I read; the hotel rooms have been completely redone and are nice. Checkin was pleasant and efficient. Room is one of the few that actually had a table where you could sit and eat a meal at. The bed was comfortable. And this place was clean! The train doesn't run during the night so there was no disturbance there. If you're looking for a place to stay in this area I would highly recommend this one. The breakfast was nice. They had several choices including cereal, various pastries, english muffins, and waffles. Two kinds of juice and coffee and tea. All around a good experience.

Toilet was very low, like for a child. Little harder when you're older to get up.

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the bed and linens to start. Next, walking into the continental breakfast...it was better than most brand hotels. Waffles with a topping buffet, breads, cereals, fruit and breakfast treats. The owners have done a wonderful job with this establishment. A must if looking for a place to stay in Battle Mtn!

Great accomadation. I wish that all the doors to outside had something other than concrete parking lot immeadiately adjacent. For pet comfort not that great. The absolute best thing about our stay at the Chief was without a doubt : STEFANIE!!! She is fantastic! Helpful, thoughtful and friendly!!

Concrete, I also would like dimmer exterior lights outside the rooms at night. Not blaring

My husband and I travel for business often, the first time we stayed here, we were pleasantly surprised how nice and clean the room was. The staff is very friendly and informative. Now we stop there and stay in the Big Chief Motel every time we travel to Battle Mountain.

There is only one complaint, in room 127, which we've stayed in twice, the power shuts off when you have the TV and microwave at the same time. I hope they fix the wiring before our next visit.

We stayed here for 1 night whilst on a 7 week touring holiday from Australia. A nice older, smaller, homely motel with a lovely friendly host. Lots of attention to detail here which we really appreciated. Our room was super clean. There was a BBQ on-sight which we spotted and then jumped at the chance to actually cook a decent home style meal on after living out of a suitcase for weeks. We went out and bought some pork steaks and veg and came back to cook on the BBQ. Soon the owner came over and gave us some proper plates, cutlery to use instead of our usual traveling plastic ware. A nice touch-we really enjoyed our dinner that night! We even did some washing during our stay - using the onsite guest laundry - $2.25 a wash and $2.25 to dry. The location was very quite, we were never disturbed by any traffic noise. The bed very comfortable for a restful nights sleep. Breakfast next morning was a good continental breakfast, with waffles too and they even supplied whole milk. A very pleasant stay here in Battle Mountain.

The room was comfortable and had a real table and chairs and desk too. The motel was easy to find and access. For a continental breakfast, this was one of the better ones with more options - not a full breakfast, but good assortment of items.

I didn't realize a train track ran parallel to the street across the street from the motel, but I only heard the train a couple of times, and my husband didn't hear it at all. The tile floor in the bathroom was very cold to bare feet.
