The staff was polite, informed, accommodating, and helpful. The room was spacious enough for two queen beds, a full table for four with chairs (which we used for a couple of meals and playing games), and a twin sized rollaway bed, and we did not feel cramped at all. We took the history of the hotel tour as a time filler because one of the four of us was interested; it was engaging enough that the youngest stayed around for the whole 45 minutes instead of bowing out and going back to the room. The location was right in the middle of the historic part of town, we walked to parks and restaurants.
The beds were a little soft for the oldest of us, enjoyable when we laid down, but we felt the creaks in the morning. Fine for a couple of nights. Also, the tabletop was somehow wobbly, not enough that anything was spilling, but enough that it was noticeable and annoying.

This was a wonderful location to stop on a cross country journey. The hotel is spectacular. The interior is grand. The autumn light through the windows made the rooms super pleasant to spend time in. The rooms were spacious. The bed was comfortable. Excellent water flow in the shower. Stepping into the hotel is a bit of time travel, back to an imagined time perhaps, of a gold rush. If you can afford the hotel, you can imagine yourself cashing in your new strike. Both dinner and breakfast were beautiful and tasty. Again, elegance is the theme for both meals. The chef was enthusiastic, sharing with us the fresh ingredients.
The downtown is a little tired, and the Baker city weekend seems to be Monday – Tuesday, so almost nothing was open.

Loved the grand old lady-ness of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room overlooked the main street and had a view of the mountains. We loved the high ceilings and the spaciousness of the room, which was full of light. The center area with the marvelous stained glass ceiling that overlooked the dining area downstairs was beautiful. It was the right place to stay in keeping with the historic atmosphere of the city. The hotel is definitely dated, but was clean and engaging and very comfortable. You can stay in a Best Western anywhere and it's always the same. This place had character! Note: We did not eat at the hotel. The dining area is just off the lobby -- it might be fun full of people, but it was deserted and not tempting. We had a good meal at a bustling Latitude 45 Grille in town.
Everything was fine.

We loved the overall ambiance of the place. The staff were awesome (especially Lief, Mary, and Jasen). The food in the main dining area was very good, and we loved the Violinist. The tour was informative and interesting!
The availability of parking is not good, and paying $12 a day for Valet because there was no available parking was a little over the top. The phone in my room did not work. There was no available breakfast restaurants for early mornings and also none in the immediate areas surrounding the hotel.

Beautifully restored historic building in downtown Baker City with lots of charm in the guest rooms as well. We also enjoyed a lovely dessert and cocktail in the dining room after dinner elsewhere and had the sweetest server.
I alerted the front desk staff to a potential safety risk with the treadmill in the fitness center as it was wobbling while I used it. The rest of the room could use a refresh as well. Limited equipment and small space which makes sense given the building

Beautiful historic hotel! Love the grand design of this hotel. Rooms are beautiful, large, unique, high ceilings and very comfortable. Enjoyed the hotel restaurant also. I always enjoy staying in memorable places and enjoyed this hotel as it was a rather a surprise to find it in little Baker City. Well worth stopping for a night, or two here. Also really appreciate that this hotel welcomes pets/ small dogs. My pup enjoyed it and all the attention he got!

The interior and exterior of the hotel are magnificent. Immaculately maintained. High ceilings. Ample rooms. A library. Most importantly, there was always someone available at the front desk and the staff there were knowledgeable about the hotel and surroundings. The staff was helpful and courteous. The staff was efficient. Truly one of the best stays we’ve had in our 30 years of traveling worldwide at a very reasonable cost. Exceptional!
We liked everything!

The location is wonderful - right downtown and close to shops and cafes. The building is historic and the decor is old-world elegance (high ceilings, tall windows, chandeliers). Internet access is provided and is easy to access.
The hotel needs to rethink the impression it makes as people enter the lobby. It is not welcoming, it appears pretentious. The hotel obviously wants to deter non-guests from casually walking around, using the restrooms or visiting the cute gift shop. The entry way is a small, cramped space with a sign that says stop here for staff that is separate from the nearby reception desk. It detracts from the sense of elegance found on the second floor and throughout the hotel.

Great location in the center of town, easy walking distance to galleries, shops, and events. Beautifully restored historic building oozing old time charm with all of the modern conveniences. Gorgeous Palm Court restaurant with full stained glass ceiling plus a cafe and bar, all on site. Easy check in and out. A "don't miss" spot when visiting Baker City.
Like everything about this gorgeous hotel. Have stayed here more than once and it's always top on my list of places to stay or recommend to friends.

The views looking out onto the street with the snow-capped mountains in the background, the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, the ambiance, and the location downtown. The woodwork, tall ceilings, yummy food, old time elegance, courteous staff, the staircase--all so great. Again, the scenery and downtown ambience were so special.
I prefer a parking area vs street parking or valet parking. In summer, I know I'd miss not having a pool.
