I like historic hotels. This one had its heyday, then the hotel boom in the area probably took it out. The property has a lot of potential and I it looks like the current owners are trying to bring it back to life. Maybe they will, maybe not. It looks like the low prices have attracted a few long term people. The hotel doesn't appear to have enough revenue to keep the resort style pool open and vibrant. It might be a really nice small convention or wedding/party venue if you had enough people to take it over. For business travel, it is cheap, central, quiet, and I had the entire executive atrium to myself, so that would be an interesting place to have a meeting if your guests appreciated such a location.

It was a bit of a ghost town. The pool and restaurants are not open.

the grand Texan has been a favorite of our family for a long time. while it had experienced a steady decline in recent years, it seems there’s a new owner or at least new management. everywhere there are signs of improvement and new items. while the pool is closed for much needed overhaul, there is a fresh hot breakfast with eggs beans and excellent potatoes made to order. the video games are functioning as well, even the classic claw machine. The atrium is still a little rowdy late into the night, but the good thick walls and numerous soft pillows ensured us a sound comfortable sleep. all in all, it seems the grand Texan is on its way back up and will be a very nice stay in the coming months.

Left early in the morning to go to airport to catch early flight. It was close enough to the airport so we chose it and it was reasonable

While clean and reasonable it’s an old property in need of repairs which makes it appear somewhat sketchy

I always stay here at the Gran Texan the property sits in a location the is fitting and easily accessible to many places here in midland the staff is great and the rooms are roomy and comfortable

Staff was great. The room was great.

They are under renovation so inside facilities like the pool were not available. it was not a problem because we already knew about the renovation.

The staff was exceptionally helpful & informative. The breakfast was very good. The people made this a wonderful experience. I will stay here again.

Maybe more towels.

The hotel itself is so big and has a 1920s feel to it I can't wait for renovations to end to go back

Breakfast could have been a little longer

Everyone took the time to help at the last minute. My card was locked and I booked another hotel in error. They took the time and there was coffee and breakfast in the morning.

We loved your hotel the room was excellent, beautiful, big ,now i want a apt just like this and breakfast was very delicious the lady was very friendly happy smile I give her a 10. And front desk a 10 and your house keeper 10 I would let everyone know about your hotel . Do you have some hotels in another towns we may need one in Nov in San Antonio would love to stay in this any time we go out town the price is good for us.

Everything was excellent no complaints.

it was clean and quiet no loud people slamming of doors etc.

it could use a little polish . the key cards had daily issue of needing to be reprogrammed. locked out of room for 45 minutes. waiting for someone who could fix issue. also breakfast was subpar
