Couldn't fault the place. It was exactly what we wanted. We actually changed our booking from Austin's Chuckwagon further in town because the pool there was closed. No regrets at all: a great bedroom with a shutter door which opened right out onto the Jacuzzi. Unusual, but lovely. And a balcony too. Breakfast was terrific, and the staff an absolute delight. Highly recommend this place. Great restaurant too. And photogenic wagons. And, of course, the open pool!

There was a bit of renovation going on which meant the outside areas in the accommodation block were not quite finished, including the walkway. But this didn't affect our stay at all.

The stage coaches were above any expectations, almost too well furnished and finished. Was expecting it to be a little more rustic. Even the private bath house was better than most hotels and cleaned and restocked daily. I would prefer to give a negative review to prevent this place from blowing up and becoming impossible to get a reservation in the future, but that wouldn’t be fair to others. The restaurant is excellent and obviously the most convenient place to eat. The included breakfast is also better than the average hotel offering.

If you’re interested in using it at all, ask if they will open the pool house screen doors to let more fresh air in. Felt like an indoor water park, but my kids didn’t mind. Would also prefer real fire pits over the gas stove fire ring, but with the dry summer the gas fireplaces make sense to prevent fires.

Loved this place and the attention to details when it comes to the decor of the rooms. Was true western vibe. The grounds around the motel were nicely groomed and decorated. Some upgrade is currently happening but it wasn't bothersome at all. Pool and hot tub were awesome. Loved to see the wagons at the back. Such a nice touch! We had dinner there and it was adequately priced with a lovely waitress, I think her name was Melissa. Food was good and breakfast very good as well. Overall the best motel we stayed at during our tour of the different Canyons. It was also nice to see they employed students ... it's good they get involved with customer service types job. Well done!!

Everything was great

We reserved two of the Conestoga wagons for our family of six adults. Some of us liked staying in the wagons. Personally, I thought it was great fun! They were roomy and had a little fridge and the bathrooms were close by; they were clean. The bed was very comfortable and large; I think it was a King. I loved having the propane fire. We all enjoyed sitting around the fire talking with a family from Europe. Staying in Torrey was a great location for the hike we were going on the next day. We enjoyed the breakfast. Pancakes were excellent.

Some of our party felt like it was too cold at night; I did not. I thought it was a bit expensive.

The hotel had just finished updating the rooms, and mine was comfortable and inviting in an Ikea sort of way. The real star of the show, besides the beauty of Utah just outside, was the restaurant. The hotel and restaurant are at the end of Highway 12 and probably don't need to be very good, but my meal - I splurged on the night's special of prime rib - met if not exceeded my expectations and I went to my comfortable room happy.

Breakfast. While dinner was quite good, breakfast was awful: a luke-warm-water-table buffet spread. The scrambled eggs were flavorless and rubbery - inedible, in a word; the sausage links were shriveled, greasy fingers; the potato hash was cold and mealy (and missing seasoning). I skipped the pancakes, though they may have survived on the buffet better than the other items. There were some packets of (sugary) oatmeal and boxes of (sugary) cereal and one or two very sad looking fruits. I struggled my way through the sausage links and potatoes and said a prayer for the eggs. Overall, I would have been happier just eating a bag of nuts with a bottle of water.

We stayed in a wagon and they really thought of everything. They had both an air conditioner and space heater. Plenty of warm blankets for the evening when it’s cold, a flashlight on the lanyard that has your key (in case you need to use the bathroom at night), cups, a fridge, a microwave, outlets next to the bed to charge your phones, etc. The bathroom is super clean and nice (and only yours - not shared with anyone else!). I even got to watch the sunrise as I left the bathroom building in the morning.

For us, it was all great! There is the potential for noise from other guests in the wagons adjacent to you. You’re essentially sleeping in tents, so keep that in mind. If you know you can’t make it through the night without getting up to use the bathroom, you might want to choose one of their regular rooms.

A bit shabby but the owners are gradually doing a refurb so well done. Comfy and clean room with good air con and wifi. Fantastic place to stay to explore the Capitol Reef NP and drive the SR12. The evening meal was super - the steak was cooked to perfection.

This is a comment on all 9 hotels we stayed in during our trip (Denver, South Dakota, Yellowstone, Capitol Reef and Las Vegas. The wastage of plastic/cardboard plates and cups and the plastic cutlery now used (after Covid?!) for breakfast is appalling - there appears to be no recycling going on at all. If you want to save the planet, pack your own plates and cutlery and take washing up liquid.

We thoroughly enjoyed our pioneer stay in the covered wagon at this resort. What a cool experience!!! The covered wagon stay was very clean and cozy. The private bathrooms were brand new. We also dined in their restaurant which was a nice experience and very convenient. The server was very kind and hardworking, she was conversational and offered great travel advice for our next stop in Grand Escalante. We scratched our entire plan and did what she recommended. We used the pool and the hot tub, both were kept very nice and clean. You can tell this resort cares about the product and services they offer. I would absolutely stay at the Broken Spur and Inn again!

The breakfast was good and definitely a plus. The wagon was just as pictured and was comfortable. Loved the bathroom it was nicely decorated and well supplied with all the essentials. I would definitely go again.

I would say the restaurant was the only thing I didn't like. The wait was long, which I didn't mind, but once we got seated it took 25 min before someone came over to start our order. We were going to leave, but since there wasn't anything else open we had to stay. The food was just mediocre. So I wouldn't go there again.

Spacious, spotless, newly renovated room with western decor, comfortable beds, pillows, sheets, cozy blanket and nice toiletries in a large sink area. Sink is separate from the toilet/shower and a great night light in bathroom. Blow drryer, microwave, fridge, coffee pot and large bench for luggage with a table and chairss. Great reading lights next to bed. Friendly, helpful, smiling staff and great breakfast! Even though they were working on the exterior it was quiet, tidy, and safe.

Hot tub and pool quite a walk uphill in the wind but it is enclosed. No alcohol in the restaurant which meant more driving!
