Love the nearby river. Very easy to go to sleep with that wonderful sound. Enjoyed walking through the western themed town, very well done. Every business along the Main Street has gone along with the theme.

This comment has nothing to do with the hotel, since it does not serve food. There is nowhere in the town to get breakfast in a restaurant. There is a bakery, but is not suitable for a diabetic to be eating pastries or cinnamon buns for breakfast. There are some good places to eat lunch and dinner, just not breakfast.

We’ve stayed here many times — love the convenient location walking distance to restaurants and bakeries, every room with a wonderful view of the river, and close to the walking trail and bridge. Easy parking right out front. Always friendly and competent staff, always clean and comfy rooms.

The only reason we stayed just one night was poor air quality in the region due to a forest fire over the ridge — otherwise everything was great.

No breakfast included, but near some local options a short walk away in the town. Fairly basic but with good views of the river and a good parking space out front. The hot tub was nice for a short while.

Not super relaxing somehow - more utilitarian and low cost, so good for a relatively budget travel option.

Initially it seems like one of the better options in this tiny area. But the moment that we walked in I knew that this was a bonus spot! Not only was it roomy and spic and span clean, no dust anywhere :-) but the sliding door and big windows opened up to one of the most magnificent morning scenes I've had :-). On the balcony we drank our coffee from the cafe/bakery next door and watched the sun come up. There were deer, bald eagles, water fowl and the singing river. The air is clean and the coffee was strong...I feel rejuvenated. Definitely coming back and will book a space on the hot tub.

of all the hotels ive stayed in, hotel rio vista probably has the most comfortable bed. my partner and i arrived a lot later than what we anticipated and the receptionist gave clear instructions so that we were able to check in regardless of the time of the morning. we had some difficulty with our electric vehicle and the owner was kind enough to let us charge our vehicle in their facility for a small fee, which we highly appreciated. unfortunately we had to move elsewhere since we miscalculated the distance to the parks we wanted to visit in the area and we preferred to be closer to a supercharger. while we agreed to no promises of getting refunded for the nights we werent staying for, management still refunded the money back. if i happen to come back, i'll definitely look into this hotel again. it's very conveniently located in the small town proper and everyone was kind and helpful.

there were a few bugs in the room during our first night but it might just be because its right next to a river

Lovely room on street level. Spacious and clean. Conveniently located, and at the end of town to reduce noise and traffic.

A/C turned itself off. No elevator. Parking lot is confusing, needs restriping, and major blind spot when turning left out of hotel.

The view was amazing. We arrived a little early and were able to get checked right in. Staff was really friendly and able to make suggestions on restaurants near by. We went to the suggested restaurant and got our dinner to go so that we could go back to our room and eat on the balcony overlooking the river. It was beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rio Vista and loved Winthrop. Everything was within walking distance. We rode our motorcycle on the Cascades Highway and loved the entire trip. We will be back to visit your town again soon! thank you.

the price was a little more than we usually pay for a queen bed room.

The Rio Vista is a clean, quiet spot by the confluence of the Methow and Chewguch (something like that) rivers. The pillows & bed were comfy, the AC cranked (it was 40C/104F that day, the deck off the room & the provided soft rocking chairs down below along the grassy riverbank were enjoyable. The proximity to town for restaurants, etc., made it barely a coupla minute walk. The staff were friendly & helpful. The room was tidy & well appointed, the bathroom spotless, the shower hot with good pressure & the tub nicely tiled instead of cheap vinyl, the wash basin is not in the bathroom but in the main room. There's a coffee pot & a small assortment of tea. The microwave & fridge were useful. I didn't watch the flatscreen tele but it's right there. There's ample parking. The wifi was reliable & included. Overall a good place to stop.

Not the Rio Vista's fault but the frequent log truck drivers driving past just outside on the only road through town, using their irritatingly noisy jake brakes to slow down, might possibly need a reminder STFU slap upside their illegal heads.

The location at the south end of the downtown section means it isa short, easy walk into the downtown area. But the main thing is that the facility sits right on the edge of the confluence of two rivers. Literally, the closest of the two rivers is about 20 to 25' in front of your room. And all rooms have spacious balconies with a sweeping vista. Also, the rooms are spacious and very clean. We have stayed here several times before and won't hesitate to stay there again. A very private hot tub room sits with an in your face view of the river and surrounding countryside.

It would be nice to have some kind of breakfast included, even just a continental one.

The location perfect, balcony overlooking the river, room was clean, bed was comfortable, staff was very friendly, would definitely add highly recommend staying there.
