Location is incredible, staff are amazing and spa has good treatments. Atmosphere is unique being in such thick cloudy jungle, it really does feel like another world and is strange in a great way. The short tour included in the stay is interesting. Classic architecture and feel throughout the facilities sets it apart from cheap new-build hotels.

The story of Ba Vi in the lobby book is really cool but maybe it could be more prominent e.g. make more of a connection between the stories and available tours? More info about the tours in general would be good. I thought there was a missed opportunity for more focus on sustainability, given the location — that could be in-room or the menu (meat from aus and us is weird in my opinion). I guess that depends on what the target market is. The TV system was a bit bizarre and POS systems were a bit old but this was quite charming in a way. None of these things were problems just ideas to maintain a true 5 star experience.

The resort was impeccable! We chose the suite with a mountain view. The room was clean and so comfortable. The bed offered us such a good night of sleep. The location is great. It is so good to disconnect and be amongst nature. (Although I must say that the wifi connectivity is super strong. Even when we left the room and go to other parts of the resort, we always had a strong wifi connection) I love how it is nestled in the lush mountain. It was a bit unnerving for me initially when I heard the loud sound that the cicadas are making since I am a city girl. Haha. The insects were really huge too! But they never caused any issues for us. Instead it showed the amazing biodiversity and richness. The best experience of it all, was actually with the people. Our son had a fever throughout the stay and we were all so well taken care of from. I want to specially mention Mr Linh, Mr Phuong Patrick, Ms. Nhung, Ms Thuy and Ms. Hue. They are really gems that made such a great positive impact during our stay. Needless to say, I really hope we can visit the resort again sooner than later! My son is already asking us when we can go back again!

Everything was great!

The place itself is gorgeous! It is worth visiting once in a lifetime anyway as the nature is amazing, so many beautiful plants, animals, insects. Ba Vi is truly one of the best National Parks in Vietnam. Old French ruins are also something to explore. The whole place feels like hidden paradise.

The lack of clarity. We was sent to the restaurant which was not working. Also, we did not see clear information about coffee machine so expected it is free. It was not and we were charged for coffee capsules at the checkout. The was no clear instruction how to use the coffee machine, it was unplugged without any socket nearby. I suggest guests bring their own snacks too, because food is overpriced and there are no much food choices there.

The Melia compound itself was BEAUTIFUL, QUIET, huge and there was plenty to do for a 2D1N trip- hiking, visiting animals, ruins tour etc. Staff spoke English, were communicative via WhatsApp, flexible with last minute requests and even planned for a birthday cake in our room (it was a birthday trip!)

The massage, specifically the bamboo roller one :( it was very pricey for the treatment we received- unfortunately we got very inexperienced masseuses who ended up hurting our bones instead of kneading our muscles and pressure points. If not for this experience, Melia would have been a 10/10. Will definitely go back to Melia but will skip the massage

I truly enjoy the ambiance: the green environment and woods, cute little ducks crossing the road, and the farm nearby. The guys at the gate are so friendly and the staff is truly welcoming. The location is perfect for families of 3 generations, not too far from Ha Noi and the trip is bearable with kids/eldery.

I guess Kids Club and kid's outdoor facilities could be improved: maybe more updated and possibly toddler-friendly. This is where safety should be encouraged in facilities. We do like kids pool section though.

The breakfast was prepared with very fresh ingredients and the staffs were very friendly. That was an all-you-can-eat breakfast and I asked for a dish of raw veggies since it was very fresh and delicious and the waitress was so happy to bring me a big dishes with all kinds of veggie and fruits. The fresh squeezed carrot juice was the best I ever had.

The height of the chairs in the dinning room could be more comfortable, I think they are not meant for Asian people because I watched around and see people sitting with feet hardly touch the ground.

- Personalized services, really love it a lot! I was sick during my stay there and all the staff there made it a point to check up on me and making me off menu hot drinks to ensure I feel better. I find it very heart warming for them to pay attention to these small details! - Mountain retreat is really large, we got lost on the first day but managed to get a grip after that - Buggy tour of the french ruins was very informative, our guide introduced us to the herbs and plants found along the way too! - Large bathroom, separated toilet, shower area and bathtub - Great view from the room, able to see the sunset from the room - Very friendly staff and excellent food options! - All the benefits were excellent, free flow alcohols and afternoon tea - Excellent place for a retreat! - Cherry Blossoms!!

- Massage service can be better, my partner is having a sore neck after our massage. I think it's the masseur as I am feeling good and relax after mine. - Nothing much not to like about the stay, recommended!!

Breakfast was an eclectic selection of both local produce such as seasonal fruits, pastries and breads, an array of locally produced juices, steaming warm Vietnamese soup and eggs that are made to your liking. Ingredients such as onion, tomato, bacon, capsicum can be made into an omelette. The food was exceptional. Our tour guide and sustainability expert Ms Nhung had a wealth of knowledge when it came to the Ba Vi mountain ranges, with bespoke French Colonial ruins of stone dotting the landscape. Ms Nhung was generous with her knowledge of the plants, fruits and natural flora and fauna of the mountain. We picked and tasted herbs, strawberries, pomelo fruits and searched for ripe figs, albeit unsuccessfully. Well-educated and passionate, I recommend Nhung’s tour for those with business and leisure interests in environmental sustainable design. The facilities were also glorious - a gym with a bespoke rainforest view, an infinity pool, a recreational room with a billiards table, hire bikes, a spa. Every idiosyncrasy - the lemongrass scent of the bedroom, the lemon-infused drink upon arrival, the openness, nearby hikes to a bamboo forest, animal feeding, and the accomodating and smiling staff - just made our trip all the more special and memorable. Mr Antony, the manager, approached my partner and I personally and we welcomed an amicable morning conversation. I would recommend Melia Ba Vi to those seeking a calming retreat from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi and a visionary take on hotel sustainable design and excellent use of the natural surrounding landscape.

I loved the entirety of the experience.

We love the accommodation right in the rain forest, with some walking distance to view point, french ruins. The natutal space is tranquill and fresh. Ideal for recreation, beeing in the nature and friends chat. Part of the story of the area shown in the caffe lounge is interresting. The warm swimming pool was great.

The walk in and around the resort is slope and slippery while beeing wet in rain and mostly no one around. So please take special care while walking. Buggy service is available. But not all the time you would need this, but just to and from the car park.

Stunning location. We cycled up from HN. Great property on historic site. Wonderful staff, super friendly and helpful. Buggy Tour with Ms Nhung explaining the French colonial history of the site and answering all our questions was a highlight. Can highly recommend. Pool excellent too - swam an sunbathed, in mid Nov.

While the breakfast was OK and the evening GnTs in the bar excellent, overall the F&B experience could benefit from being elevated somewhat. Staff were all great though and super helpful and attentive.
