The room was really lovely with a great coastal feel to it. Included a table and chairs, nice basic kitchen, good size bathroom and comfortable bed. The staff, especially Deb, were very accommodating and helpful with knowledge of local areas. I especially liked that they were able to shift my original booking to the ground floor (during busy school holiday period) and asked every morning if I needed anything like clean towels, etc.

This motel is on the Pacific Highway which I thought might be noisy, but I didn’t hear any traffic noises from inside the room. Like a lot of motels, the parks are a little narrow which made getting in my car somewhat difficult.

Value for money is definitely the go to with this place! Travelling for work, it has all the essentials. Powerpoints next to the bed, cutlery, plates, bowls, a sink to wash up in and even dishwashing soap. Netflix on the tv, comfy bed and pillows, extra blanket, free wifi, bench with under storage to put your bag, and a small table to sit at to work or eat. Anyone who travels for work regularly I'm sure can appreciate these little things. The room is neat and tidy, modern, kinda on the small side, but for the price - honestly I'd stay here time and time again for work, and will put our workers up in these rooms no problems. Noise on the street wasn't an issue - we did however stay towards the back. Nice and quiet motel, due to high volume of workers staying there.

Ok, so they are lacking in the condiments side of things with bathroom supplies (shampoo/conditioner etc) but if you travel regularly for work, you bring these things with you anyway. They did have 2 sachets, so it wasn't as if there was none, but it's a budget accommodation, I don't expect it. They don't make the room up each day unless you ask, but I would prefer to pay around $40 less per day than the other motels around the area, and just ask when needed, or get some refreshed towels.

Help with how to use air-conditioning I couldnt put on heating. Please put slide down on remote somewhere in motel room.. I desperately need a comfy chair just a small club chair my back hurts, sitting in a bed I was there 3 nights so. I'd love a chair please not a hard one like at dinning table. Staff lovely. Check-in was made super easy via a text message, which meant everything was ready prior to our arrival. A small error in the text message was verified, and it was wonderful to have a personalised reply from a sincere staff member assuring me that the error had been resolved. This was not a generic reply. The unit was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with toiletries, towels, extra blankets, tea and coffee facilities. Very comfortable king-size bed, with comfortable pillows, slightly lumpy from being laundered, but still very comfortable. The motel is situated a short walk from the main centre of town and Charlestown Square, so we were able to walk to get dinner, then walk back, and the proximity to arterial roads to access many of Newcastle's best areas is excellent. Check-out was similarly as simple as check-in. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I needed accommodation in Newcastle.

It was so clean and nice. The check in process was seamless. I didn't see staff at either check in or out but was sent a text with easy instructions. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave and fridge. The shower products were really nice 👌 it was such a pleasant and comfortable stay after a really long drive. The bed was comfortable. The room was light and bright and the air conditioning was welcome coming in on a hot day. Definitely recommend. Amazing price also.

Just being picky but there is only a really small space between the bed and table so getting up during the night was a close call to banging in to the table. Not a big issue.

We spent 5 days at Surf Beach Motel and found it to meet most of our needs and great value for money. Newly refurbished rooms were clean and mostly well equipped. The bus stop was directly outside the motel which is perfect if you’re without a car. Shops and restaurants were close by. Self check in was communicated well and very easy.

The previous guest’s rubbish was left in the bin which was a bit off putting on arrival. The body wash dispenser in the shower had been removed and we needed to purchase our own as there was no staff available when we arrived. We had booked for 5 days and there was a single toilet roll provided. Requesting coffee, milk and toilet paper is fine but frustrating if you are out & about early and see no staff to make requests. It’s a pity that the housekeeping issues let an otherwise great motel down.

The room is looking pretty new, feels like it has been recently renovated. We love the king size bed and it has a lot of power plugs where we can charge all our devices. A perfect size room for 3 of adults as it even has a table with 2 chairs. Perfect kitchen area comes with a sink, microwave, fridge and fancy cutlery sets. Very near to Charlestown Square.

As the motel is located on the Pacific Highway, need to slow down closer to the entrance of the motel as it can be easily missed especially when we first arrived. After that we just have to remember to slow down once we can see the big sign in orange of Sixt (Car Rental Company) which happens to be beside the motel :)

room was very quiet at night as I thought I would most probably be hearing noises through walls. Indoor temperature was perfect without using the aircon. We only switched it on when we first checked in the afternoon as it was a hot summer day. The curtains and blinds were nice and new and working well to allow light control. We liked the television and tv options. It is of very good quality and good range of programs to choose from. I asked for a new kitchen sponge and the host was very helpful and cheerfully gave me one.

You can't sit on the dining chairs to watch the television while eating at the table because it's too close to the wall but this is a minor detail. The chairs themselves were comfortable except were stained due to the white coloured fabric. I wouldn't change the design of chairs as it adds style to the decor, maybe they should consider choosing a darker colour to keep light stains from being too obvious

Great cleaners,parking,close to a great selection of restaurants in the area,but access for a disabled person in not the best. Convenient kitchenette,excellent wi-fi,brilliant staff who were very helpful addressing our needs to the best of their ability.

Not enough drawers for storage especially bedside compartments. Really needs rails in shower and shower head needs lower options for people of short stature and using shower chair or stool. The main door is very hard for even an able bodied person. The vanity mirror needs to be lower and the power points need to be lower. The floor surface is slippery for a person using walking sticks.

We've stayed before and love this accomodation - bed super comfy, kitchen and bathroom simple. It has everything we need as home base while visiting family in Newcastle ... spending most of our day away from the motel.

Bathroom drain has a bit of a smell ... had to leave the on fan while we were away so the whole living/bedroom didn't smell when we got back in the evening after being out all day. Also - for the first time - we just felt like the floor wasn't very clean. Overall still super clean ... just two small bits of feedback that might help owners mange property and keep the high standard we've enjoyed in the past.
