We loved the facilities - the pools and spa were lovely, well maintained and always clean. Very resort style. The hotel is connected to Wests which was so convenient for when we didn’t want to venture out for food. Lots of options and variety when it came to food which meant something for even the fussiest of our 6 adults and 4 kids group. The rooms were also nice. We had 2 x 1 bedroom queen and sofa rooms which was great as mum and dad got a comfy room and the kids loved nights on the comfy sofa in the living room. We also had a studio balcony room overlooking the pools with King bed. This was more modern than the queen/sofa rooms as they’ve been recently been renovated. Both styles of room were great in terms of layout and space depending on your needs. The location of the hotel is perfect. Close to lots of beaches, the city, Blackbutt reserve, Westfield Kotara etc … we were spoilt for choice anytime we wanted to explore Newcastle and venture away from the hotel.

Our only issue was the cleanliness of the rooms. We had 3 rooms booked between 3 couples/families and each of us found ourselves having to complain about the cleanliness of the rooms, cleaning things ourselves, having to remind staff to refresh amenities such as tea, coffee, bath stuff etc. Housekeeping staff were lovely though and always graciously addressed our concerns but it was just frustrating to have to repeatedly request parts of our rooms be redone or done at all. We tried to be understanding as it was peak period and we were told housekeeping was quite short staffed but expected a little more in terms of cleanliness considering the price we paid and the calibre of the hotel.

I took my partner there to be able to go to the football and watch the Newcastle Knights play. The location was perfect for this purpose and we were able to walk to the stadium without any problem. Our room was clean and the food was good.

I didn't like the toilet in the room as it didn't feel private with the frosted glass doors. No one needs to share toilet experiences, it was lucky I was with my partner and not just a friend or work colleague. I was greatly disappointed to see when I got there that the restaurants upstairs were not open the night we stayed but the bistro food was nice, just not what I had planned.

The foyer of the hotel is neat, clean and very well decorated. The ambience is fantastic and the staff were useful and friendly. The space in front of the hotel was clean and welcoming. It has a great professional look. The room was fantastic and well maintained.

1. I dislike the glass panel in front of the toilet. It's a hazard for me as I kept bumping my head when sitting down. I was in 124. It doesn't leave sufficient room to get in. 2. I dislike the room door which requires a bit of maintenance, it was peeling pretty badly. 3. When we checked in Saturday at 02:00, next door left out their food tray and food scrap just outside of their room/door and when we checked out on Sunday at 09:00, it was still there.

We did not have breakfast there. The bistro and restaurants were great for lunch and dinner. The location was perfect and the actual location of my room was great, too. The staff were all very lovely and helpful :) clean bathroom with great water temperature and water pressure in the shower. Mini bar was very reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again but would love the rooms to be a bit brighter and airier. We really enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of the staff contributed to that :)

The room was a little gloomy and older but still nice and comfortable. The carpet in the hallway outside the rooms was old and in some places stuck together with duct tape (which didnt look nice and was also a safety concern i presume).. There was only one small lift from the reception to the rooms with lots of people having to queue and wait.

The room was recently renovated but, due to no full internal walls, there is no privacy between bathroom/toilet and the rest of the room. Shower and toilet have frosted glass walls. Dinner was excellent at the inhouse Empress Gardens Restaurant and Beijing Express [2 nights]. We self-catered for breakfast.

Staff were pleasant. Nice quiet stay. The only thing we didn't like was the configuration of the room ie lack of privacy for anyone using the bathroom/toilet due to frosted glass walls and no dividing walls.

The Executive Inn is a great family getaway. The room was great; however, the sofa bed could only fit a teenager, which wasn't too good for us as I had a teenager (5'10) and a 10-year-old, and no other bedding could be arranged, which wasn't ideal. We stayed in the double deluxe room. The balcony hadn't been cleaned, and there were smoke butts all over the floor; we received a note stating it was a smoke-free room..... this mess wasn't ours! Breakfast was nice; however, they offered the same buffet daily, so more variety would be good.

More variety at the breakfast buffet and towels for the pool area were very limited - need to keep up with providing these.

The bedroom was OK and the staff was very nice. Nice continental breakfast.

There was no parking available at the hotel when I returned at 9 pm. The receptionist told me to park on the street or at the hotel around the corner. I would say is misleading information that you book the hotel with parking facilities. The receptionist's comment was" well the parking is free" when I actually paid $400 for one night. BOOKING.COM should NOT allow the hotel to advertise parking as part of the deal. Certainly, I will not return due to this lack of parking. The TV was not working. After being "fixed" you could not turn the volume down and you could not turn the TV off. I had to turn off the PowerPoint.

Room size was good, clean and comfortable. It was next to the club which had great bars and facilities. The hotel was within walking distance of other pubs and cafes and where we saw a show.

Check in with 6 people took ages - everyone had to give ID and sign in. We were not happy with an additional charge imposed after much debate - not told of extra person charge upon booking but hotel would not waive or give any compensation eg: club vouchers even though we were given wrong information.

We loved the pool, the cleanliness of the room was good.

Wasn’t clearly stated how much movies were $40 for 3 half watched movies didn’t no until the next day. Not sure why my balcony didn’t have a chair or table like all the other balcony’s. I thought the pool would shut earlier than 9pm. Was quite noisy right up until 9pm. I called and asked to book another night was told it’s fully booked but on every site I went on including the executive inn website I could still book. I didn’t bother price increase of $50 from a Sunday night to a Monday online was too much.

Their service is great, staff are amazing. They’ve got direct access to restaurants which was nice as we did not have to spend time on travelling to a restaurant for dinner and lunch. We walked to a cafe next morning for breakfast which was about 5 mins walk but only because we wanted to stroll outside. Otherwise they have b/f buffet option too for about 27$pp which is not that exp. Pool area is nice, looks amazing on the pictures. For anyone looking for a day or two to relax, this is a perfect place.
