Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedroom was quiet, clean and comfortable and offered exceptional value for money considering reasonably central location. Heated indoor pool, small sauna and gym included in price were welcome additions.
Hit breakfast on a busy Monday morning when service probably busiest. Breakfast choice and quality okay rather than great, but based on overall hotel offer and price would still recommend.

We arrived with the duty manager, (Kenu?) booking us in; who was very welcoming and directed me for the parking. Our room wasn't quite ready; before long the housemaid corrected this and separated the bed into two singles. I personally loved our Welcome to The Rydges on the Television! Our stay was convenient for us and we were lucky to use the pool/spa and had breakfast delivered to the room; which was beyond our expectations. I will be returning to The Rydges Central in Surry Hills.
Just minor... The room wasn't ready, and I felt uncomfortable with the housemaid doing the room while we were in the room. The maid was polite and quick as possible. To my understanding booking in after 2pm the room would be ready.

Great location, right in the heart of Surry Hills, minutes to Central station, buses/trams. Plenty of bars, cafes and shops nearby. Check-in and out was quick and effortless. I stayed during Christmas for a few days, and came back again in January as I'd enjoyed it the first time. Hotel is bright and welcoming. Rooms are good, beds SO comfortable, and everything spotlessly clean. Air-con is ok, a bit noisy but did the job well during some very high temperature days and nights. Rooms contain a fridge, which was useful during the hot weather to store a cold drink, however like any hotel with a mini-bar, those prices are expensive and to be avoided. The hotel has a swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, which I used most days, it was usually quiet. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, great selection of food, with the usual eggs/bacon/sausages on offer, and also cold cuts/cheeses and vegetarian options, and also steamed dumplings and rice, nice for a change. There is a juicer so you can make your own juices, which I loved, I haven't seen that anywhere else that I've stayed. The Sydney Brewery bar attached to the hotel is good, with great food specials and happy hour twice daily. Check-out is 11am which is great so you're not in a rush after breakfast. Overall I was very happy with my stay here, it was a super convenient location.

The location was great, right next to Central Station, close to trains and trams. The buffet breakfast was also really good with a lot of variety and choices. Rooms were also quite big.
The photos of the pool are a little deceiving, it's an indoor pool but in the pictures it looks a lot lighter and brighter. Becomes a bit stuffy inside. There are also signs that state if you don't want your room cleaned you'll receive $10 off your food/drinks bill so we did this but then upon check out the staff told us we could have something from the bar or restaurant to the value of $10. We were checking out already so was a bit pointless. Needs to be clearer otherwise we would have just opted for our rooms to be cleaned.

Nice hotel near to Central Station, but in reasonable walking distance to the rest of the city. Rooms are like most of the Rydges brand and provide everything you need. We were a bit early but the room was ready; this is always a bonus. Great range of restaurants very close, we were impressed.
We stay here every now and then, but the housekeeping this time was really below par. There was rubbish outside our door on arrival, gone by morning. But the room was only partly serviced - fresh towels (which we DIDN'T need) BUT no tea bag replenishment, no beds made - the room looked exactly as we had left it early that morning. Not good enough, and quite odd.....

The staff were very friendly and helpful in both the hotel and the Sydney Brewery attached. There was something for everyone at this hotel and a real mixed group of people to reflect this. Pool, gym, four scheduled movies in a theatre by day, terrace and food and drink at Happy hour, special prices. You did not have to leave this hotel which was good because the weather was certainly not. The happy hour drinks twice a day were eagerly awaited. as staff made great cocktails. Breakfast was good with a varied selection.
The bed was a bit uneven (one side higher that the other).

Great location and value for money. I actually found it better than a 5 star hotel in the city that I stayed at a few weeks prior. The room was huge, the staff were great and I really enjoyed the pool too. Great water pressure in the shower. My room was not ready on arrival (2.30pm) but to apologise for the inconvenience I was given a drink voucher to use at the bar next door. I do appreciate the gesture and by the time I came back my room was ready, so thank you to the staff for that.
Minor issues: cleanliness could be improved, there was some mould in the shower and some makeup on the bathroom wall from a previous visitor. The bed was also not made up that well as the sheets were not properly tucked in.

The location was perfect, it's right in front of a bus stop and only a 5-minute walk to Central Station. There is also a 7-Eleven store around the corner and a Woolies Metro 5 minutes away to get small groceries. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The check-in/check-out process was efficient. The pool, spa and sauna were excellent for post-marathon recovery.
Wifi was a little slow at times. Room service is convenient however, the food could be better. It was inconvenient to have to go down to reception to get a towel for the pool, rather than having towels more easily accessible near the pool. The rooms are a little worn down but that is not a huge problem.

- facilities were perfect - nice rooms, with a bed, and a nice bathroom - the rooms are well equipped with all the necessities (soaps etc) - easy to navigate around the building - breakfast was a very affordable price and all of the food was a very good standard, I really enjoyed this each morning - the location is perfect right next to the Central train station - staff were very helpful to me and friendly when having breakfast etc - my room was tidied when I was gone, was a nice surprise when I came back in - pool was good, sauna was perfect. - the gym has all you need when you are on vacation. I enjoyed using this. - my early check in request was also accepted which was very convenient and I appreciated that.

Rydges Sydney Central is a very good option if you want to be at the southern end of town. The room was very spacious, and everything worked very well. Comfortable bed, slightly too soft for us. Lights and air-con are intuitive, always a bonus! Breakfast has improved a lot since we last had it here ... great options.
We've stayed in many Rydges, and this is the only one really showing its age. Rough repaint touch ups around doors, but they still looked quite battered. The lifts are always way too slow and crowded. ... and although breakfast was great I'd really appreciate the option to have a saucer for my coffee cup - nowhere to be seen.
