Check-in was a breeze by a lovely receptionist, room was exceptionally neat, clean and tidy. Nice feel and good amenities, close to everything and river - walking distance to everything. Huge rooms, aircon, lovely clean bathroom and comfy pillows.

If I REALLY had to choose something, the bed was harder than Im used to - but - my wife had a great and restful sleep. Maybe a body wash in those little tubes too :)

upon arrival the cleaner was managing the property as the owners were away for a few days. (this is peak summer holiday period) she couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating on a difficult day for me. The room was more than large enough and very clean. Had lots of ammenities and resources available to make our stay comfortable. The beds were comfortable and we were able to block out the last of daylight saving light with blockout curtains. The location was excellent and we could walk to everything we needed especially a lovely afternoon by the river.

There was a nice amount of seating in the room. Plenty of power points - free wifi. Very clean bathroom with numerous hooks to hang towels on. Good tea/coffee facilities. The beds were a tad on the soft side but bedding & furnishings were good. Easy access to pubs & shops.

Scrupulously clean, very quiet, welcomingly warm motel. And the weather was very cold and wet during my stay. Generously sized rooms. I was in room 1, closest to the road, but there was no traffic noise because the owner's residence is between the street and the 10 units. Short stroll to the main street. Best thing about this motel, and I've stayed in a lot of motels up and down the east coast, is that this one is an almost perfectly preserved time capsule of a 1970s small family run country motel, right down to the exposed brick walls, nouveau federation bathroom tiles and light fittings and [most importantly] the breakfast serving hatch is still there - but now sadly disabled. Original laminates, Caroma tap fittings and the tongue and groove pine feature wall complete the time warp. It's wonderful! If anyone from the National Trust is looking to preserve some Aussie heritage this is the place. If you remember the great days of country motels from 50 years ago and want to share this authentic experience with your (grand)children, then you must stay here. Tumut town is large enough to have a choice of several good hotels for meals and a few good coffee shops also. And a unique broom factory. You need to stay more than one night to soak up the ambience. And yes, the town has elm trees, too. Very big elm trees.

The commercial buildings both sides are vacant at the moment. But don't be put off. It means no noise for the motel.

The location was great. Close to town and club. Clean, good facilities. Microwave in room handy. 3 liquid dispensers in the shower. Bed comfy. Parking right outside room. I definitely recommend and will stay again after a snow trip.

Everything was great. I can't think of any faults.

Our room was very clean. Our bed was very comfortable with extra pillows. We couldn’t rate staff because we never saw anyone except the person who gave us our room key.The motel was well located. A bit difficult to find because of street appeal.

Elms Motor Inn provided excellent accommodation in Tumut with every need well provided. Little touches like light switches and electrical sockets by the bedside made this motel exceptional, especially at a very reasonable price compared with many others. Eating nearby is very good in the Oriental Hotel. I tried and left elsewhere, but here I had friendly service and nice meals, and it's very close to the motel.

*Located walking distance to main street, cafes & places to eat. *Comfortable beds & the best, hottest shower. *Providing a kettle, toaster & microwave was very appreciated.

*Some of the other guests warming their car up for 5-10 minutes at 5-6am right outside the bedroom window. Many were very considerate and immediately moved their car to the street to warm up but we still had a couple inconsiderate guests. Not the fault of the owner or manager though.

Perfect location walking distance to main street with restaurants and cafes. All room facilities were as expected, clean and very comfortable bed. Plenty of power outlets and light switches conveniently located near bed. Bathroom was clean, roomy and well appointed. Easy parking in front of room on ground level.

This was a surprising place. It looked a bit old-school from the road but the room is as comfortable a stay as I've had in a motel. A good mix of old world charm and modern comfort. In a really good location near town too.

An updated bathroom is all I can think of.
