Our host, the lovely Sophia, is gracious, friendly & knowledgeable of the area…oh and also a damn fine cook! Breakfasts & coffee were beautiful. The room & common guest areas were very tastefully decorated in keeping with the deco era of the house, but with a fresh modern twist. Bed was very comfy, there were thoughtful touches (port, chokkies, Apple TV…) the bathroom was clean … you may find it a bit squeezie, but remember this is a heritage style BnB so it’s had to be modified over time to include an ensuite in the generous sized room… loved it & the hosts, note: it’s located opposite vineyards on edge of town, (great for a sunset over the vines drink on verandah), so a car is handy, however there are taxis available. We’ll be back should we visit Barossa again. ❤️

Cute and cozy room in a beautiful historic house. All the charm of its era but with modern facilities to make it comfortable. Plunger coffee in the room so you can start your day with a caffeine hit if you can't function without one like me. The hosts are just lovely and very knowledgeable about the area if you need tips or advice on where to go or what to try. Home cooked breakfast was delicious. Private bathrooms also great to have in a BnB. Centrally located between Noori, Anguston and Tanunda.

The 'private bathroom' is basically a toilet and shower stuffed in cupboard so is quite cramped. The entrance hall and guest lounge room has a lingering smell of cigarette smoke (not unexpected in such an old house). The location is a bit of a double edged sword... being between towns it's not really walking distance to anything.

The breakfast was lovely - selection of items including freshly plunged coffee, mango and oat yogurt, bacon and eggs, pumpkin frittata, and banana/raisin toast. The parking was a little cramped but it was more because the other people staying didnt park straight and we had a somewhat bigger car. Location was close to things but not comfortably walking distance.

There were a few spider webs behind the bed. There was a sewerage smell coming from behind the building - we closed the door and couldnt smell a thing so that was fine. Bathroom was a bit cramped but had all the essentials. I forgot to mention whilst there that the left showerhead falls when you turn it on.

The entire few days were amazing! It all started with a welcoming smile by the hostess Sophia. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and generous and we were surprised with a glass of bubbly with our breakfast too. Sitting out on the front porch, admiring the garden and listening to the birds was very relaxing and enjoyable.

The one thing that we missed was having a view from our room but we must say that having access to the beautiful garden made up for that.

The property was easy to find, access was simple, and the location was a short distance to most other places we wished to visit. The rooms were beautifully appointed. But what we loved most were the hosts and staff. Very personable, made you feel very welcome, and were clearly great at what they do. The food was excellent, home cooking at it’s best.

Could not fault one single thing.

The breakfast was absolutely lovely and Sophia was so welcoming. We loved the charm of the house and our room had lots of beautiful personal touches like the chocolate and port, and tea and coffee facilities in the room were a bonus. Super comfortable bed and the heater already being on when we got there was much appreciated with the freezing weather! I would have loved to sit outside and have a coffee in the morning, such a beautiful garden and outlook but unfortunately weather did not permit. Next time!

The only thing I struggled with was the lock on our door, but that may have been me! You could hear other people's doors as they went in and out but couldn't actually hear anyone in their rooms which was great.

Like so many other reviews of Barossa House, the highlight was the owner's enthusiasm, friendliness and desire to ensure our stay and the visit to the Barossa was as good as possible. Sophia went beyond anything I have seen before at a B&B-type accommodation. In addition to looking after us and providing guidance on the region, each breakfast was specially catered for, depending on people's tastes and dietary needs and was always tasty. The atmosphere was wonderful. We stayed in the upstairs room which was large and very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

This stay was like walking into your own home, being so warmly welcomed by Sophia and her family. Sophia is so full of lovely recommendations for the Barossa with places to eat and wineries to visit, make sure you ask about all the beautiful small boutique wineries in the region. The house itself is a beautiful older style home, that feels so cozy and homely. The rooms and beds are so comfortable, you will definitely get a good night sleep here. I can’t finish this review without mentioning the amazing cooking and hospitality of Sophia! Her beautiful breakfasts are just divine!! We feel so lucky to have stayed here and feel very much a part of the family. Thank you so much Sophia 😊

It feels like being home when staying at Barossa House. Sophia is a wonderful, warm and cheerful host. She always has great recommendations on what to do, visit or just lounge at the house. Breakfast is hearty and wonderful to be able to mingle with other travellers staying at her place. Nadia is also wonderful and helpful that made it a wonderful stay at Barossa House.

We couldn’t stay on longer and have to return to work 😄

Barossa House is perfectly located in the center of the valley. You can walk to several wineries and plenty of restaurants are just a couple of minutes away. Sophia is an incredible host. Every recommendation she made was outstanding. Her breakfasts are delicious and are a lovely way to start the day. Our room was extremely comfortable and spacious. We can’t wait to go back.
