A very clean and welcoming hotel with a view of the water. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It was located right by the shopping and restaurants in this town. We had a nice walk during the afternoon through the nearby park towards the lighthouse. The restaurant downstairs had an Asian menu and my dinner was delicious. The staff of both the hotel and restaurant were all great.

We were traveling without a car and It would have been nice to have a shuttle to and from the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry terminal. The ferry dock looks so close to the hotel, but it is across the Mersey River, so you had to drive around via the Bass Highway. We needed to hire an Uber to get to the hotel.

Near on unbeatable location in Devonport. Nearby eateries, waterfront walking trails, watch the spirit of tas and other boats coming and going, centrally located. Having a partnered offsite parking garage for only $10 per 24hrs with unlimited entry/exit was also excellent value! The hotel was ultra clean in our room, none of those odd little dust spots or such like can be found in some hotels. Check in staff were lovely, Belle checked us in and did a couple of admin bits and pieces for us during our stay and she was great and very friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This is being pretty picky because it was still decent value at $25 per head. But the buffet breakfast is pretty generic, the usual scrambled eggs, bacon, sauces and thendifferent fruits, yoghurt and then cereals and breads. Especially given how I felt the staff put in a great amount of effort and attentiveness with their service and clean up at breakfast time it would be good to have a bit better breakfast For how good the hotel is I think a couple little alterations/additions to the breakfast setup would just elevate the hotel to its full potential.

We had lovely ocean view room, the room was spacious, the bathroom was clean, compact sized but functional, and the bed was large, firm and comfortable. We arrived on Christmas Eve so we booked our dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. My husband ordered a beef curry, and he really enjoyed it. I was craving for Phad Thai so I ordered one and really enjoyed as well. Breakfast was continental, there were good varieties of hot and cold food selections, pretty happy with what we had for $25 each person. The hotel is very close to spirit of Tasmania, which it was an easy 10-12 min drive.

We enjoyed the view from the 3rd floor. Bed was comfortable. Loved the big shower head in the bathroom. That was about it.

As a coffee drinker, it was disappointing there was only enough coffee for 2 half mugs.. I felt that part of my stay was let down as most people would relax in their room with a coffee before bed and upon waking up. No extra pillows or blankets in the cupboard, and the toiletries were on the empty side and couldn’t get enough moisturiser out to even do a leg. Came prepared to pay cash but had my card charged as soon as I checked in and wasn’t asked about how I was paying.. I’ve stayed in a lot of fancy hotels and sadly this one isn’t up to my standard.

The bed and pillow were actually comfortable, it was very clean. They have a rain shower head shower as well as a normal shower, you can use one or the other, amazing. Also the blackout curtains were fitted very well which ment no light coming in so we could sleep. My husband and I travel a fair bit and this was by far the best Novotel we stayed at. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. Gave us a few tips on places to visit. If we ever go back to Devenport, Tasmania we will stay at Novotel again. We highly recommend.

Mini bar wasn't stocked fully so we got charged for items we didn't eat and drink, however when we mentioned this they refunded the money without any drama.

The range of products for the breakfast was good and the environment and decor enjoyable. There was adequate seating space. I had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant and the staff were pleasant.

The valet service was good, but it was clear that the staffing of the front desk was inadequate at peak times. Although I was advised to contact the front desk at least 10 minutes before needing my car, the phone was unanswered. This occurred a couple of times. When I sent down to the desk, they said they were busy. On the last morning, I arrived at breakfast to find that the bacon, eggs and other hot food containers were empty. On asking, I was told that they were preparing more and while some items came out, the full range of produce was not available before I left.

Pretty much everything. But the standout were the front of house staff . All were friendly, smiley, welcoming and the exceptional Stephanie, in the evening. Absolutely delightful personality. Remembered us from the previous year. Checked on how we were going. What an asset to the Novotel. Plus the girl who made the best coffee in the dining room- was her name Mandy?- she was great. Having staff who can easily rapport with the guests, joke around while retaining professionalism, makes the stay experience so much better.

Nothing but having a coffee machine in the room would have topped off a great stay.

what I liked is the location. it's central.

I sense the business vibe and not customer comfort vibe and it makes me very uncomfortable. While they were no actual bad experiences it was more of the absence of exciting experience. They weren't a lot of varieties with the hot food. All my 3 year old wanted for two days were pancakes and eggs, we couldn't oblige them to get pancakes. They watch you struggle with your luggage, smile but offer no help. I thought that was strange. But staff were polite which was great to see.

I had been staying at my parents holiday home, but with very little heating and I had been so cold, especially as an amputee, so I decided to spend the last night somewhere warm, comfortable and with an accessible bathroom. I was not disappointed. The room was a perfect temperature - I did not change the heating setting, the bed was very comfortable and I was warm all night. The bar was not busy, but the restaurant was (it was Jazz Festival weekend after all), so I simply had a bar snack (chicken satay sticks which were really nice, especially the peanut satay sauce) and several house white wines which at $10 each were very good value for its taste. A very pleasant evening and nights sleep. Breakfast was also very nice as I have come to expect from Novotel over the years.

Price was a little bit up there, especially for Devonport in Tassie.

Spend the money and get an Ocean View room, it is so worth it! Buffet breakfast was really good. Bacon, eggs, toast, mushrooms, baked beans, cereal, juice, tea, coffee, fruit, yogurt. Great location near the shopping mall. Great view of the Spirit of Tasmania arriving/departing. Walking track by the river very close and picturesque. Rather than valet parking ($25 a night) we opted to park up the road in the local car park (info provided by Novotel). After 6pm it's $2 until 8:30am the next morning so very economical.

The bedside table was oval and didn't have enough room for glasses, phone etc. It would have been nice to have some drawers and a bedside table. Really minor issue though.
