We loved the way we were greeted and taken to our room and explained everything. We loved our balcony as you could look out the main streets and see everything. The location was exceptional, although we walked around the shops and food places, we had tea both nights at the hotel which we enjoyed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was clean, secure (Which is important) and tidy.

Great place to stay and central to all that you want to do in and around Daylesford. The room was great and maybe not what you might expect to find above a pub. It was modern, clean and comfortable and had all that we needed for our short stay.

The only dislike was getting bags and suitcases up and down the stairs. Not a big deal really and probably all part of the experience staying in a room above a beautiful old hotel.

Bistro closes 9pm NOT as advertised 9.30pm No operating instructions for the built- in electric blankets. No seating to watch the TV. Very poor check-in procedure with little or no signage and no dedicated staff Check-out even worse. Has to be done in the Bistro, which opens @9pm. Great location. Walk to everything. On the main street. Rooms were nicely furnished and some nice touches in them like a breakfast box. Very clean. Balcony was great to view the street from.

Floors a little squeaky. Our room wasn't made up over night which I felt should have been for the money we paid.

When we opened the door we were blown away with how lovely the rooms and bathroom was. It far exceeded my expectations. The breakfast boxes are an outstanding addition. The sheets and bedding - all excellent. Whoever designed the renovation should be congratulated. The exposed brick walls and leadlight glass are gorgeous. The access to the balcony was great. The blinds, lighting and TV worked beautifully. The view overlooking the leafy green tree was beautiful. Parking was easy and we were pleased that it was available. The staff are so helpful. We had a kettle that needed to be replaced and they brought it up within minutes. The spa bath was amazing. We were blown away with how beautiful room 8 + 8a are - amazing value and we are planning to come back.

Very noisy at night. Not the hotel's fault, and the noise wasn't overly obnoxious, but it was VERY loud. It finished right on 11:30. Putting on the airconditioner drowned it out somewhat.

Centrally located, spacious room and the large ensuite had double shower. Kickstart breakfast provided everyday included cereals, Juice, muesli bar, milk and biccies. Interior looks to be recently renovated while retaining the original features. Overall, it exceeded my expectations and I would definitely be staying here again.

Most things - except for comments below.

We had no warning of the 9:00 PM to 10:00 AM lockdown, with no access or re-entry possible during these hours and, apparently, no staff on site during this time. We don't understand why beds are provided with so many pillows, and with nowhere to store the ones one doesn't want on the bed.

Location was great, accessible to almost everything by foot. Loved the wide shared balcony overlooking main street, great for a drink or a meal. For us the balcony and design were the x-factors that swayed us to choose this accomm and we weren't disappointed. Design of the room, decor and fittings were superb. I suspect they used sustainable materials too (eg bathroom tiles?) which, if true, gets a double bonus from us. Appreciated the efficient and easy check-in when we arrived and even easier check-out. Kitchenette facilities in the room were great; cleverly packed in a lot in the small space while keeping it all very easy on the eye. Ah the joy of thoughtful design! Simple but neat contintental breakfast. All facilities, incl. aircon and overhead fan worked well.

Daylesford is busy with tourists on winter weekends so a little too much road traffic for the balcony to be super relaxed and peaceful. Room is compact so despite great design u still need to be neat and organised. We wished for a few hooks somewhere. No coffee plunger provided so glad we brought our own.

The two-person shower was very convenient, bedding was comfortable and access to a large balcony (shared) was nice. Meals were of a good standard and reasonably priced.

Having a private balcony would have been preferable - even if just separated by a dividing screen.

gorgeous big comfortable room , lovely bed. So hospitable with generous freebies for visitors. Right in the heart of daylesford. Plenty of freash air. loved the access to the balcony, big windows.

Only flaw was the lights in main street, so not super dark in my balcony room, but worth it to have access to the balcony.
