The room was great - very large, very quiet, in pristine condition and with all amenities. The complimentary mini bar was very much appreciated. We enjoyed our G&Ts and pretzels on the terrace before dinner and beers with chocolates when we came home. Breakfast offering was extensive and tasty, (although limited regarding cereal and fruit). The Atrium breakfast room was light and comfortable and visually appealing. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Finding the entrance to the hotel was a challenge. Signage is poor and from the street the main sign is for the spa. We entered through the front of the old hotel where the sign says Main Entry. Not a good idea as we had to wend our way through restaurants and bars and take a lift in order to reach reception. We had trouble with the Nespresso machine (we own three but they are all different from this model) and needed a staff member to assist. I would recommend instructions be provided. Lighting in the bathroom was very poor for applying make-up. Disappointingly the "medium" poached eggs I ordered for breakfast were as soft as my husband's order of "very runny". THE CONSTANT DOOF DOOF MUSIC AT BREAKFAST WAS EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT AND DESTROYED THE AMENITY!

The professionalism by staff and as you walked down the corridors the smell of lemongrass fragrance. Everything clean as you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Unfortunately there was plenty of bad things. The lights were hard to figure out. ( Touch sensors). We couldn’t find the remote for the TV. Not enough hooks in the room to hang clothes on. The room was very tiny ( 30m2). Even to turn the bedroom lights on was difficult. The cost for a very simple breakfast was $35 each. There was a menu instead of helping yourself and we felt hungry when we left. This needs to improve. You pay an extra $20 per/night to store your car in the undercover car park. This should be included in the price. So not a cheap stay being in Sorrento.

Location….in the middle of Sorrento, with walking access to everything. Very nice design of hotel and bedrooms with a high quality finish. Bedroom is small…but perfectly formed! Food was excellent too. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner…all very good.

One minor issue was that we had to pay $35 in the car park for a one night stay

March 2023

The breakfast is excellent however the dining in the Atrium far exceeded my expectations.

OK its not in your control but a cricket was hiding under my cupboard in room 2303 on the night of the 7th March chirping its heart out and after a sleepless night discovered this a around 6am. After squashing him ruthlessly I was able to get back to sleep. On Saturday evening the 8th March while comfortably lying in bed watching netflix, it was around 930pm, the emergency evacuation alarm went off. Once again, not under your control. I thought "what now". Thankfully a false alarm. This is my second stay in a month. I love it. The spa facility which I tried on Friday was amazing and worth every penny.

The Intercontinental is a beautiful hotel, with amazing helpful staff, located on the best spaces in Sorrento. Dinners and lunches have great menu's and delicious food.

Breakfast is still not quite right. The buffet has plenty of food, but maybe not the diversity. Muesli, porridge, non-sourdough bread could be other choices. Bacon, and eggs every day will kill me.

We stayed in the new wing of the hotel, room was super clean and comfortable. staff at reception very nice and welcoming. Decor was very arty and upscale, full of holiday vibe. hotel pool was super clean and warm in a winter day, with fabulous views towards the sea; we were able to go in for a morning swim. No other guests were using the swimming pool so it was all ours!

If there was any drawback, it will be the breakfast. Staff was not enough, there wasn't many guests anyway but it took a very long time for our breakfast to be served. Food was just standard cafe level. Heaps room for improvement.

The location and the facilities within the venue were excellent. We stayed for two nights, having arrived by car the next time we actually used our car was when leaving Sorrento. Everything that we wanted for a couple of days was walkable, which was great!

The stay overall was great. When checking out after having used the Hotel guest parking there was in fact a fee for that. It was no deal breaker. We didn't notice it when making the booking, and it wasn't mentioned when we checked in, having confirmed we would be using the parking. As mentioned, it was not a deal breaker just not expected after a great couple of nights stay.

I liked how well thought out the property was. Everything was convenient and comfortable. Bathrobes provided, really beautiful body wash and moisturising cream, mini bar was well stocked and free, the breakfast was beautiful. Everything was so lovely.

I only had one problem occur and that was the cup I was given for my cup of tea in the morning had a lipstick mark on it from the previous person who used it which made me feel a bit uncomfortable but the waitress quickly replaced it.

Amazing Pool and Spa area. King Terrace room was very spacious and great decor and balcony which we luckily upgraded to. Complimentary Mini Bar was excellent with Gin and Tonics and great coffee machine, complimenary bottled water etc.

Buffet breakfast was average and cold. A la carte was much better. Cosy King Rooms are tiny, no ventilation and terrible view out of the window you can't open. Definitely happy we upgraded to better room.

Very well maintained property and modern in its own way. The gren and white color combination was so tranquil. Could not use the pool due to a rainy day but it was looking good. Parking on the property is a big plus and well managed.

Carpet in bits and pieces in the corridor, annoying to pull strollers, good to leave it as tiled floors or run a full carpeted floor.
