magnificent and very accomodating host

We were three and given a room for five. Lots of space. Beautiful view. Simple and oldish room but comfortable. Good breakfast included Very gentle staff. Since the hotel is a bit far from Mattrei the manager made sure he gave us à ride when going for his errands Good value for money

Beautiful location, very nice manager, large rooms with balcony, clean, can ask for help any time, very good breakfast We came by bus and the owner/manager was so nice to pick us up in Matrei and also drop us off the next day at the Tauern house (we came to walk the Venediger höhenweg) because the bus did not stop close by the Gasthof. You get a nice room with the basic stuff you need but no extra's yet (renovating/restoring the place).

There is no bus stop close by, if you have no car Matrei is a bit far, they are renovating and restoring the place (It will have a Pizzaria eventually -> manager is Italian), the kitchen was closed so it was hard to get some food (with no car) in the evening. Dogs are allowed. I have nothing against dogs but when they bark (in the room next to us) it was a bit annoying at some point. TV was not working so no Tour du France for us.

Nice and helpful staff, beautiful view and good location near Matrein.

The location is good, with a stunning view and conviently located near Matrein -- but the access isawful, located on a busy road with no access by foot or bicycle, which was a problem given that we were on foot, coming down from the Gross Venediger national park. The manager was very nice and picked us up and later dropped us off frim a point where we could walk.

New management renovating the property. Very promising! Friendly and kind staff, awesome breakfast. Looking forward to see how the structure will turn out in winter. We'll definitely come back :)
