The location is beyond all expectations!

I have a complaint about the breakfasts in the restaurant. When we came for breakfast later than 8:30 a.m., there were 50% of the offered assortment available and the staff did not fulfill our requests to give the children pancakes or bring out more cheese. Please pay attention to this important point. Otherwise, the vacation was wonderful, thank you!

The entire resort is very nice, nice views and very nice villas. The house was very clean, very warm and with stunning views over the mountains.

- No coffee in the house, you have the Nespresso machine but no coffee, you have to buy your capsules from the minimarket at the reception. - The deposit. We had to put a 300 euro deposit at arrival, deposit that wasn't mentioned in the booking. It was released very fast at check-out.

Our family loved the location of the resort and the facilities it provided. It has allowed everyone to relax and explore the surrounding mountains, lakes, and towns in their own style. The boat dock is right on your doorstep, and the trip to Hallstatt is a great day excursion without worrying about parking in the town. My nieces loved the swimming pool and enjoyed water activities on the lake. Towns (such as spa town Bad Ischl) are short train journeys away. The train winds its way around the lake, allowing you to explore the countryside.

The only downside was that the fridge size in our chalet was a tad on a small side (8 people and only a bar size fridge)

Everything was (almost) perfect. The location really makes up for everything. They have a swimming pool that the kids really enjoyed. They also have sports facilities, my family had fun with table tennis. When we were not indoors, the kids were playing in the big playground outside, with a stunning view of the lake and the mountains, and me and my husband loved staying there just soaking up all the beauty around us. Hallstatt is very accessible by bus from the hotel, the bus stop is a few meters from the reception. Other means of transportation is also available-- boat, train, bike or even walking if you're up for it (could take an hour or so with kids). By car is a bit challenging, but we saw people parking at a big parking space before reaching the tunnel (from Dormio hotel) and then they walk for about a kilometer (more or less) to the center, also a good option.

When we arrived and entered our apartment it was still dirty. So we had to go back down to the reception and were given a temporary accommodation in one of the chalets. This was a bit inconvenient because we came from a 12-hour drive (too much traffic on the road) from The Netherlands and we arrived in the evening, we were dead tired. The next day we had to pack again and move to the apartment. But the view from our apartment, and the apartment itself was super, so we forgot all the hassle. :-)

Nice location, nature around.

Was dusty, we found pieces of a broken Glas, what was very dangerous because we had 4 kids, including 2 babies. Also apartment needs renovation, shower doors are not working good. microwave doesn’t indicate any signs what makes cooking process bit complicated. Pool area is also not clean and many ants running around. Prices in a lobby and village shops are crazy. Coming with everything bought on a way doesn’t seem so realistic, but buying on a place is crazily expensive.

Very spacious appartement, well equipped kitchen, beautiful views. Quiet location/village. Bike rental (normal/e-bike) at the resort, nice indoor swimming pool, public grass field and 'beach' to swim in the lake just in front of the resort . Small shop for food and commodities at the resort + possibility to pre-order bread. Very easy trip to Hallstatt either by boat (two companies), regional bus or bike. 10 min by car from Dachstein cable car.

Our appartement was in the main building, above the restaurant/kitchen/reception, which makes it easy to reach and allows convenient access to the shop/pool, but has one drawback: we regularly had the smell of (fried) food on our balcony and even inside if we opened windows, and sometimes cigarette smoke from the employees relaxing in their smoking corner below. As the restaurant closes around 10pm, luckily we had no noise nuisance (in September). Cleanliness of the appartement was average.

Dormio Resort Obertraun offers a peaceful escape with scenic views in Austria’s lake district. Strategically located near the boat transfer to Hallstatt, its chalets and apartments are perfect for exploring the area. The resort boasts an excellent playground for kids, enhancing its family-friendly appeal. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere ensure a pleasant stay.

our experience was marred by cleanliness issues. The sofas in our unit were dirty and appeared to have been used by pets, despite the resort’s clear no-dog policy. Furthermore, the resort indicated plans to replace the furniture, but this was only communicated near our checkout time, which was disappointing as it did not benefit our stay.

The location is quiet and green, with a lovely lake side , many facilities to spend time outside, both adults and children. We loved the atmosphere. Although there are 85 aprox. houses, you don t feel any disturbance or crowds. You have many eating options around. Also supermarkets are available. The bathrooms are clean and the kitchens offer ovens, washing machines, etc.The houses are perfect for spending time with friends. You can rent bikes, barbeque, SUP boards, kayaks.We spent a great time with our friends.

The houses look very good but the cleaning is not top notch. There are dusty places and some things require repair. Also some kitchen utensils need replacing.

Dormio Resort Obertraun offers an absolutely superb location, surrounded by stunning natural beauty and just a stone’s throw from Lake Hallstatt. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The resort provides excellent value for money with its comfortable accommodations and top-notch facilities. It was a perfect getaway, and we’ll definitely be returning!

However, there were a couple of downsides. The rooms lacked air conditioning, which made it a bit uncomfortable during warmer days. Additionally, the absence of room service and no regular towel changes was a slight inconvenience. Despite these minor issues, we still had a wonderful time and would consider staying again.

Close to Hallstatt lake, for us great location, can rent sports equipment and bikes in location, great chalets. We knew what we are expecting, so there were really not significant bad surprises for us. We travelled by car, so getting around was easy enough. The restaurant on site isn't the cheapest, but its practical, inclusive of the on site mini market.

Cleanliness was the only thing we would review with hesitation. The 'guest WC' by the entrance was having a sticky floor underneath the toilet, the dishes we basically had to rewash all the cutlery and plates were hit and miss in terms of cleanliness. I get that its hard to the resort to check every single piece and that it relies on guests using the dishwasher thoroughly, but it doesn't always work best. We found that the sauna in our chalet was a great addition, BUT a few towel hooks or clothes rack would be highly appreciated to make the sauna experience more practical.
