Really lovely place to stay. I suspect that this is the nicest hotel in Antwerp because the ambience was lovely and our huge room was superb with views of the lively street scene, a balcony, lots of character and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was superb and also different from the usual hotel fare. Good coffee machines in the rooms too.

Despite the description, it doesn’t really have parking instead you have to drive to an underground car park which is 22 Euros a day and about five minutes walk away. Admittedly the car park seemed very safe but it was an unexpected and significant extra cost whereas the hotel itself was good value.

Superfriendly staff at both front desk and in the restaurant/terrace. The location of the hotel is excellent, we love the neighbourhood. We were upgraded to room 42, apart from the sewer smell in the room, probably caused by the extended time of tropical weather, we loved to stay in the room. Unfortunately the elevator was out of order, but that made us lose the calories we've been taken in during our stay in Antwerp!

Nothing really, like the sewer smell and the out of order elevator are things that can happen. It's just unfortunate, but did not spoil the fun we had!

We are biased as this is our go-to-hotel twice a year for when we want to have a break from our life in NL. Nice room concepts and the beda in particular are very comfortable. The team of the hotel is kind and think along with your every request. The dinner and breakfast are also recommended.

We have been coming to the hotel for the last 6 years and though we love it, it hasn’t been upgraded in that time. Could use some tender loving care.

The room was one of the best hotel rooms i've stayed in. Extremely large and beautiful design and worth well above what is being charged. Would come back to Antwerp purely to stay here. I enjoyed the bar outside as well.

The lift was broken when I arrived but only for about 2 hours. Not much else to complain about. I guess there isn't really a lobby as such but the room is so large it's fine to relax there.

A lovely hotel in a great location with friendly helpful staff and excellent food. The room (and bed) was very comfortable and spacious and tastefully decorated.

In suite 42, the bath was very awkward to get in and out of and the sink (with only a single cold tap) was also difficult to access - meaning we had to lean over a long way while shaving or brushing teeth.

This was our second time at this hotel. It is a nice hotel with a really well thought through decor. The breakfast is good and the beds are comfortable. Location was perfect for us.

Our room had the smell of old/still standing water. We arrived late at the hotel because of my work and we had to go straight to the restaurant we had booked. We opened a door when we left but when we got back the smell was still there. When we checked out I told the person at the front desk about it and they made a note of it. Also the bathroom in our room looked like it could do with an update.

We basically loved everything! It’s perfectly located, the interior is beautifully done without losing a homely feeling and it’s warmth. The staff is bubbly, friendly and inviting without being over-the-top. I wish we stayed a little bit longer because the terrace is a absolute gem to either start your day or gi for drinks in the evening. Staying at hotel Pilar is like a warm blanket and leaving is not a ‘goodbye’ but a ‘until next time’. And if you want to go back somewhere, for me, is always a perfect sign.

We loved everything!

Central to everything, excellent facilities and friendly staff. The rooms were clean and hood coffee machine.

The lift and the doors to the stairs. The lift was was juddery and the stair doors need handles as they were hard to grip to open.

The location and Staff very friendly and helpful

We had no complaints. We thought the shower wasn't working and reported it. Staff was there immediately to look at it. Turns out there wasn't a problem - we're just didn't turn it on properly - so, know complaints. Everything was fine.

Good location, good bed.

Elevator makes strange noises and needs to be looked at. The walls and doors could use a new layer of paint- our bathroom door didn’t close- not the worst but you don’t expect it when paying so much for your room.
