The Refugio is a peaceful paradise: the building is beautifully designed and the garden is lush. The beach is in effect private, even if not officially, because of the location. The views are amazing. The cutlery, sink, water tap, and coffee station are available all the time so you can eat and drink outside of the breakfast hours. Breakfast itself was great and plenty of buffet options - freshly baked pastries, fruit, yoghurt, meats and cheeses - as well as eggs or tapioca cooked to order. The room was very clean with a large bed and bathroom. You can fairly easily get a taxi to nearby Santo Antonio de Lisboa, probably the prettiest town on the island. Finally, the family who own and run the hotel are a lovely team and very welcoming. Muito obrigado!

Chromecast for the TV in the room didn't work as we were told, and our inquiry about it was forgotten - understandable because there was an event on in the space that night, but still a shame. Also important was that there didn't seem to be stair-free access to the different levels of the building.

We stayed one night in the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath after flying into Florianopolis from Italy to rest before driving home to Porto Alegre and it was amazing! We will definitely do it again! The view was beautiful during the morning, sunset and at night. The hotel was quiet and the private beach and gardens were awesome! The staff were friendly, informative and polite. The room and spa were sparkling clean and smelled delicious. The shower is hot and powerful! It was a romantic and perfect getaway! We will be back.

Exceeded my expectations. It's an interesting building that mixes the best aspects of a cozy home and a serious hotel. I knew from the reviews to expect the amazing garden and private beach, but there were more surprises: indoor hammocks, a balcony overlooking the garden, a kayak and SUP board (with life jackets!), fantastic breakfast, and the pure peacefulness of the place.

the calm,peace and security in this place is very pleasant, beautiful view and good staff. They thought about details for pleasant, for example: good exhauster on the restroom, chromcast to be able to watch what you want on the screen, refrigerator, air conditioning etc.

could improve the internet connection (unstable) and when requested to clean not only organize things, really clean everything (but it does not mean the room was dirty when we arrived just for a week of staying would be good every 2-3days a cleaning, the reception on the rooms was terrific overall, really good)

The premises are beautiful. The garden and access to the beach are incredible.

It might be a little remote in the off season if you’re looking for things close by to do. The place is beautiful, however. I can imagine in the summer it’s amazing.

The whole experience was amazing! Thank you so much for such a fantastic stay. If you like to stay at hotels where the shower is great, please come to Refugio. You won't regret it. The views and surroundings are breathtaking and we'll return for sure.

Beautiful view, the building is fantastic and the room was cozy, and the breakfast was perfect. The owners and the staff are amazing and kind, they make you feel at home.

The guest upstairs made a lot of noise over the night, it seemed they were moving furniture around, a kind of weird thing to do at night. The Inn had rules for noise so it seems more like a guest´s bad behavior.

The photos really match reality. The view of the room is amazing, waking up in the morning with this gives you energy to wake up. The breakfast is very good, there are as well beach chairs and parasol to pickup and go to the beach just in the yard. Calm ocean, calm waves, almost nobody, amazing for relaxing.

The Wi-Fi could be better, for the movies day when it was raining. There were moments the wifi was better, but most of the times, took a long while until loading the app and broadcasting it to the Chromecast in the TV.

When you arrive at midnight somebody should be there to let us in. We had to fight with two bad locks. Meet your guests in person, please.

A beautiful location on the water, central to all the sights we wanted to see in Floripa. Vicente was pleasant and welcoming, and offered plenty of information about places to see. Breakfast was the usual tasty Brazilian Cafe de Manha, and the Paõ de Queijo was the best I have tasted all holiday!!!!

We really had no complaints! It was pleasant and comfortable.
