Outstanding location: 5 minutes from the airport; 5 minutes from the Brazil side of the falls; ~30 minutes from the Argentina side. Free shuttle service to/from the airport. Friendly drivers. Especially unbeatable location if you're only going to the Brazil side of the falls and your time is short. There is a tourism desk at the front of the hotel which helps to arrange transportation/tickets to area attractions, including rides to the falls on both sides. The lobby of the hotel is quaint, as is the restaurant. The breakfast is outstanding -- a huge buffet with scrambled eggs, linguiça, yogurt, pastries, juices, etc. We also ate dinner in the hotel restaurant both nights. We really appreciated the convenience, as we were tired from sightseeing. The wine selection was pretty decent, and the food was okay -- nothing special, but good enough that we chose to eat there twice. The restaurant wait staff was friendly, and one night, there was some pleasant acoustic live music later in the evening. There were massage chairs in the lobby, which were AWESOME, except that as soon as you settle in for your massage you get attacked by a swarm of mosquitos, so beware! The room was fine, nothing fancy -- enough space, simple, clean, small flat screen TV connected to WiFi so we could log in to Netflix. The finishes are definitely in need of an update, especially in the bathroom. But no complaints -- we were only in the room to sleep, and the beds were comfortable. Extra pillows and blankets were provided. Mostly good WiFi throughout the hotel. This is the second time we've been to Iguaçu. The last time, we stayed on the Argentina side in a cute pousada. Though that experience was definitely more quaint, I'd probably stay at Hotel Colonial again if I returned because the convenience and the price can't be beat.

No complaints, really. I loved this place and I'd stay again. The only minor issues that may bother some folks: Bathroom finishes need updating. Watch out for mosquitos in the open-air parts of the lobby. Most staff didn't speak English, including those who helped with booking transport and tourism attractions. We had a Portuguese-speaker with us, but if we didn't, it would have been a challenge.

Price, location, breakfast, facilities, staff. We were concerned before arriving because it was so inexpensive. But it's location to the falls was great. We were surprised to find that it was more of a resort than just a hotel. We walked to the park in about 20 minutes. The Bird sanctuary and Movie Cars exhibit were along the route. Food at the hotel was good and reasonable. The burgers were very good. If we went back, we would eat at the Movie Cars exhibit next door at least once. The area is very safe and being a mile from the airport was good for our flight out.

Not much, this was a really good stay for the price. The checkin had to be done on your phone, which was complicated and difficult for english speakers. The pizza at the hotel was not good, stick with the burgers.

We landed at 12:30 am and the shuttle was available to pick up. The check-in was smooth and room was enough for family of 4. The breakfast was excellent with many options - pastries, pancakes, waffles, eggs, cold meat, fruit and juices. There were multiple pools and kids play area. We didn't use any but it was available. The falls visitor center from where we take the bus to see the falls was literally a 2 minute drive. You can walk the distance in 20 minutes or so. We had difficulty finding an Uber as it was too close. You can pay the hotel to take you to the falls using their shuttle as well. Make sure you are able to call them once you are back from the falls for pickup as we ran into some issues there with us knowing Portugese.

Location is great, and the hotel provides all the information for the tours, which comes very handy (particularly if you don't have a car). It's also walking distance to a couple of tourist attractions, such as the Parque das Aves e Parque Nacional do Iguaçu. The premises of the hotel are very large, with a cafe, restaurant, souvenir shop, pools and so on. Breakfast had many options and the food was tasty. Dinning was also pleasant there and at a good price.

The room was old, with some small cleaning issues, and it was small for three people.

Great customer service from reception to room service. Very good breakfast and a la carte menu. The manager Wagner goes above and beyond to meet our requests and needs! I loved the indoor swimming pool! The bedroom is a good size. Breakfast offers a great variety of tropical juices plus hot and cold food. There is a little shop inside the hotel with souvenirs, beautiful t-shirts, and toiletries in case you forgot something which was very handy! The opening times of the facilities are great - long hours for swimming pool use and opening hours for the restaurant and bar. Walking distance to the falls and Parque das Aves, we got out there and enjoyed twice! It was a good value for money and with transport from the airport and back! All the team was friendly, courteous and efficient! The tourism shop at the main entrance of the hotel is a bonus, they offer information and competitive prices. Thank you everyone at Hotel Colonial Iguacu for making our visit a very special one!

We will definitely come back: The breakfast and optional dinner was extra-ordinary! We enjoyed the swimming-pool area and the friendlyness of all personal staff. The waterfalls are in walking distance and the nature around the hotel is feelling to be in the middle of a National Park (althoug it is 1km away).

It is true, that some parts would need some renovation, but for this price you cannot expect 5 stars level.

Nice and comfy bed and cleaned room. The bathroom is some updates. It is near the falls, bird park, movie car. Front desk staffs were nice and friendly. They helped me to arrange taxi and day tours.

It is far away from the town. Front desk needs have currency exchange or have ATM near by. Hard to walk around as there is not walking path on the road.

Just the greatest stay in Brazil. Located next to the falls and the airport, the hotel has a lot of green places and a nice pool. Good value for the money. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helping, especially the reception guys. They offered a lot of information about the falls. Breakfast was awesome, the best that we had in Brazil. Great hotel for families. Good restaurant, too and for a good value.

A little far from the city centre, but you can take the bus right outside the hotel. Uber was not always coming to take us to the city centre. The main attraction is the falls and not the city, so this is not an inconvenience. Watch out for mosquitoes; of course this is not the hotels fault. Hotel is a bit outdated but clean.

I was not aware whilst booking that the hotel was on the Brazilian side of the falls. Thus was probably my mistake as I searched by distance to attraction. This meant though that firstly we had to continuously cross the border to Argentina. This meant we had to fill out immigration papers twice a day. There is Nothing around the area. So you are dependent on the food in the hotel and can't try anything else. Knowing this I would prefer to be on the Argentinian side in the city center The falls on the Brazilian side are however within easy walking distance

The location is top tier : 2min drive from Iguassu airport and 15-20min walk from the entrance of the Brazilian Side of the falls. The breakfast was really good with a lot of options (salty, sweet, fruits, yoghurt, fresh juice, tea, coffee, milk...), the restaurant had many options, and the plates I had were really good. The room was spacious, clean, and just what you need for your stay. AC is also available in the room There is also a pool but I didn't try it, as it was raining during the afternoon of my stay
