Very convenient and safe place - in the middle of the Copacabana beach. Roughly 7 mins to the beach and on the way 3 bars and 2 kiosks for available for refreshments. Across the street lovely burger place for a quick snack. Very helpful friendly staff. Breakfast simple but super tasty. Rooms are clean and maintained as for the 3 start hotel. It has a pool and if its too hot outside was great to enjoy the time there. Great wifi - had no issues making calls or surfing the net.

Missing a bar where you can get some drinks/food during the day. Don’t take studio - way too small even for a solo traveler. Some noise coming from the other rooms and air conditioning. My room had a window which was facing to another wall and even I was on the 7th floor i couldn’t see the sunshine.

Incredibly accommodated, hospitable personal. My hotels was booked last.minute on the spot in middle of the night and personal was amazing helpful. I had same night issue with ARNB stay as I had Barata in our accommodation and I have to move to Astoria hotel. From personal on reception, breakfast,cleaning personal was incredibly amazing. Highly recommended as also location is 5 min from Copagabana beach. I will be back in 2 months time as I am employed for Petrobruss company and often travelling to Rio,definitely Astoria. Staff at the breakfast were the best! Five stars service staff. Location is handy with easy access to everywhere and to everything. However, the hotel looks like and fells like a 3 stars.

I feel the great staff hold the place together. The pictures look way better than reality, especially the pool area, gym and sauna (sauna off unless you ask to turn it on and wait for it to warm up) (gym open from 9am, so no early morning workout). The towels were weared and grayed and unfortunately I got a room with a very tiny little window below 1st floor level were I felt it was difficult to breathe.

The location of the hotel is great. Only 5 or so mins walk away from Copacabana beach with many drinking and eating options. I stayed 3 nights and the area seems safe for a single female traveler who does not speak the local language. There are supermarkets within walking distance. Hotel staff were friendly, and helpful. Room was clean and so was the bathroom. No noise whatsoever. Breakfast had many options and food quality was very good.

* the area ,well spotted address ,close to all that you need ,plenty of restaurants the beaches are close enough plenty of commerce nearby ,the bed was great and comfy

Cleanliness not the best ,reception staff not that polite ( day time staff ) could be better ,this hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel ,pushing a 3 star and that is pushing it ,I paid for the suite real and was actually disappointed ,it is meant to be what the name says ,it ain’t ,very small room for over £100 pounds a night ,I choose this room specifically because of the balcony , the balcony didn’t fit a table .. that’s how small it was … disappointed

The hotel rooms and lobby seemed very modern.staff were friendly and breakfast was nice with a wide range or choices.

The pool and sauna seemed a little outdated. The sauna didn't seem to work.

The continental breakfast was good with plenty of options. The room was very clean with staff regularly coming to make the bed and change towels each day. The front desk staff was very polite and knowledgeable with pointing you in the right direction for what you are looking for.

Breakfast was really nice and had different options although I stuck with the same throughout my 8 day stay. Location was great 2 min away from the havaiana shop 30 seconds away from the nearest shop and cafe with the beach being less than a 5 min walk away and streets were super safe even in the night (Personally I would suggest getting a uber to the hotel if you're tipsy but as I didnt get drunk whilst I was there I would just walk towards it and I had felt totally safe). The room I had stayed at was pretty decent I had a location to store my luggage the fridge was really nice as well as the wifi and ac both worked efficiently. Excluding a review of the hotel the city was genuinely SO BEAUTIFUL if you're considering going please go.

(This isnt a dislike at all but just a heads up) if you wish to speak to any of the workers outside of the reception area they mainly understand Portuguese so please have some basic understanding of portuguese. ALSO I would suggest if possible paying in cash and going to an exchange place prior to coming to the hotel as the exchange rate at the hotel wasnt ideal.
