When I arrived at the hotel I received a very friendly and charming welcome from Vincent at reception. He stood out as an excellent employee who (helpfully for me!) spoke fluent English. I was so happy with my double room, which had a big balcony and a lovely view over the treetops and valley. It was big enough. The bed and pillow were comfortable. I slept well because the hotel was quiet. The bathroom was clean and well organised with a shower enclosure and mop (unlike many Bulgarian hotels!). The location was ideal. It's on a secluded street but very close to the centre of the city in one direction, or to the edge of town if you want to get to the fortress quickly. Thank you to all the staff for a memorable and recommendable stay at Hotel Bolyari!

The only thing I would suggest to improve is to employ additional cleaning staff. When I arrived at 5pm there was no room ready, and also another person as well as me still waiting for a room to be cleaned. The lady who prepared my room did a thorough and efficient job, so the standard of cleaning is good and quick. But it seems like she could use some extra help sometimes to take the pressure off her, and so that guests can check in at the time the hotel states in its policy.

I recently stayed at Bolyari Hotel and I can confidently say that it was a nice hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff (especially Reception Clerk Ventsi) was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I needed to feel comfortable during my stay. The location was also perfect - within walking distance to some of the city's top attractions like Tsaravets Fortress and restaurants. The staff went above and beyond the expectations to ensure that my stay was enjoyable and stress-free. I highly recommend Bolyari Hotel anyone looking for a memorable hotel experience.

FABULOUS staff, helpful and kind! Great communication - they responded to messages and replied immediately!! Ideal location, perfect for checking out the beautiful old town, but it's not the Ritz! If you're looking for comfy, affordable, and great value, this is the place! Parking is tight in old town - be sure to let the staff know you'll need parking!

The beds and linens are quite 'old-school' and the whole decor of the rooms needs a bit of sprucing up, and the bath could be a bit cleaner... but it was all acceptable (especially for the price) - and the staff MORE than made up for the slight inconveniences!

Please note my review is for room with view as we changed room. Cheapest room doesn't have any view, but an old ruined house in backyard. It also has an old electric heater... and old TV... -------- Location was good but you need to take rooms with views to enjoy the view :) so go for the last floor rooms, 41 to 44, they have also balcony. Sauna was nice, 50 degrees max, dry. Jacuzzi was also nice, both are included in room price. Staff was also helpful, 10! Some parking is possible in front of the hotel, for free.

Mattresses are not really in a good shape... and seems they only have twin beds so not really a good experience if you are a couple. Also some other improvements would be needed in rooms... but they are decent.

Very close to some nearby small museums and the main attractions - smack dab in the tourist part of the city. Most rooms have a wonderful view of the landscape or the city, or both. Clean and simple, with comfortably small rooms.

The shower was a small issue, as it had no shower head holder nor a shower curtain the entire bathroom got rather wet. And the floor often stayed wet due to the floor not being angled towards a drain.

We were looking for a place to sleep on our way back from Romania and this hotel delivered. We called them to ask if we could check in late and the receptionist told us to give him another call in case he's not in but checking in and out was a breeze. The location was also really good, next to key landmarks, a bakery, and not too far away from the castle for those who want to sightsee. The room and bathroom were perfectly adequate for a one-night stay and the beds were very comfortable.

Nothing, good experience

The view of my room was nice and green. It was located in the city center. The room was clean. The receptionists working both day and night were very kind and helpful. The receptionist girl working at night gave me information about places to visit in the city during the day and helped me find a taxi. I had made a one-day reservation, but due to the kindness of the staff, I extended my stay for another day.

There was a problem with the shower.

It is very well situated in the old town and closer to the fortress. There is a small shop next to the hotel in case you need something last minute. It is also close to bakery and to the begging of the shopping street. Certainly great value for the money.
