The Motel is spotless. We attended a family wedding at Ti-na-Mara resort. We chose to stay here and so glad we did. It is an older motel with a lovely feel. The room we had had a kitchenette with the works for utensils. The bathroom was spotless. My sisters room had two beds no kitchenette and it was the same spotless. My daughters family had an extra bedroom. Right across from Ti-na-mara if you are going to a wedding the perfect place to stay, you can walk there. Parksville and the beach is just up the road. I would stay here again in a minute!!! Value Comfort and Cleanliness all 5 stars!

Not a thing

The motel room was clean, bigger than average, and in better condition than expected. Everyting worked; nothing was broken. The HVAC worked well and there was strong enough water pressure. The grounds were also well-kept. The staff were professional and accommodating; I got the impression they care because they live at the motel or are its owners. (The dirty chair in the photo I uploaded was MY chair, not the motel's. ha ha)

The TV was quite small, but it worked well. Internet was strong. I didn't notice any vending machine for drinks or snacks, and there was no breakfast provided, but next door there's a restaurant that was open for breakfast.

Exceptional from check in to check out & Pet friendly! Room was impeccably clean, from the fresh smell on entry, to the dove cucumber hand, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. And super comfy bed. Outside seating area with picnic tables. The location for us was perfect, quiet & out of the busy touristy areas, but not far enough that it couldn't be walked. Treed area to let our pooch run.

The staff at The Arbutus Grove Motel were exceptional, right from check in to when we accidently demagnetised our room the key (twice lol) they were fantastic! The room is exactly what we needed, and was super clean. The motel is a little bit older but you can tell that a lot of love and care goes into keeping the grounds meticulous and the rooms updated.

I love this place. It was clean and the staff were friendly. It was also quiet, meaning you could barely hear the neighbors. I expected to hear more highway noise but it wasn't bad at all, not loud enough to keep me awake. The kitchen was actually a kitchen. There was a proper stove with an oven, as well as a fridge that was not a bar fridge, and had a freezer that worked very well. The kitchen was also well equipped with pots and pans, mixing bowls, frying pans etc. Easy to make a good meal in your room. The bathroom was equipped with a blow dryer so non need to bring one. also the room was spacious, a good size, not cramped at all. I tend to over pack and there was loads of room for my stuff. I loved the location as it was right by Rathtrevor Beach.

I really don't know if there was anything I didn't like as I didn't inquire about a breakfast or laundry facilities. For all I know they may have offered both. I did see people sitting outside on the picnic benches having breakfast.

The beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of hot water and good pressure for showering. The hosts (owners) were very nice people to deal with. Pet-friendly with a good outdoor space to walk/play with our dog. A nice central location close to an excellent coffee shop/breakfast-lunch spot across the street, and a liquor store. One suggestion: In addition to the window blinds in the room, light blocking drapes would have been appreciated.

Nearby highway noise starts quite early in the morning, so ear plugs are advisable if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to traffic sounds.

Arbutus Grove is one of the nicest motels I have ever stayed in. The room was spacious, exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. Even though the motel is on a busy road, it was very quiet. The owner was very friendly and helpful....she even shared some of her ocean finds with me :) I will definitely stay here again!!!

Exceptionally clean and beds very comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay. The only suggestion we have is the owners should report the fake site on the web and have it taken down. We thought we were booking directly with the owners and nearly were caught being charged a big surcharge in fine print when we processing the booking. This site must certainly affect your business.

My son and family stayed at the hotel and were very please how clean the room was and having Ricky's restaurant next door was perfect. The three year old son said he wanted to go back to the hotel and not go home...ha...ha.

I myself didn't stay but my son said it would have been nice if there was a couch or more seating. But they weren't in the hotel very long anyway.

Like other reviewers, I found Arbutus Grove clean and comfortable. Check in was fast and problem free. The room was clean, and the kitchen facilities were excellent. Unlike many places the dishes were actually clean. I also liked that they requested I wash and rinse the dishes, but not put them away but leave them in the rack instead. I really liked that policy.

The shower head was rather cheap, and the resulting water spray was not the best.
