The room was large and we thoroughly enjoyed the whirlpool. The pool area was quiet. The housekeeping staff that we encountered where exceptional. They were quick to address the issues that we had upon our arrival. The water was very hot, which was great!

The room is dated. The televisions are analog. The bathroom sink had a crack in it. The carpet had not been vacuumed and there were cigarettes burn marks on the carpet in the bedroom and stains in the living room. One of the bath mats was stained. The curtains on one of the bedroom doors was filthy. The housekeeping staff where very quick to address the cleaning issues.

Unlike the doubletree in London, along with booking.coms help, this place did not steal over a thousand dollars from me. They were excellent at booking with a visa debit and refunded my deposit immediately upon check out, unlike doubletree who took my money for the full stay, then refused my stay as I don’t own credit cards, and then failed to return it.

The plug in the hot tub stopped working the second night, but they had if fixed the next day. The coffee at breakfast was horrid, and there was no meat.

Very good room, nice breakfast, good service, we loved the bathtub and the swimming pool was ok.

The room TV has almost nothing free, just news, and not even let you mirror your phone or use your streamings. At least can include some movies for free. I found that annoying. The breakfast included is nice, but they should activate the service for the restaurant for dinners and lunch, paying additional costs. Its difficult to eat outside, not much restaurants nearby just fast food. The location is also a little bit isolated, not much activities around.

Breakfast lady behind the bar is beyond miserable my daughter didn't want orange juice or apple juice I asked if there was water she ignorantly said there was some in the lobby which is cucumber water which doesn't taste very good.. after a few seconds of staring at her and shocked at how she just spoken to me she said or I can go get you some, I told her don't bother I'll go get some crappy cucumber water. The bathroom is very dated. Can use a makeover.

We only saw coffee for breakfast? Lol the bed and pillows were super comfy.

Actually, I had a Queen jacuzzi suite booked for Sept 27. My travel grant funds didn’t go through so I cancelled my first room the Friday before (5 days before booking) and booked the second room cheaper as there were no more jacuzzi suites. I got charged for the first room and the second room! I am on disibility pension and that’s my grocery money. I would really appreciate someone fixing this error and returning the money for the first room. I have to give back the $100 deposit to ODSP and can’t now if I want to feed my kid. PLEASE HELP ME!

The hotel was very clean and the bed was amazing. The staff were helpful with any issues. The location was just off the highway but you couldn’t hear the cars. The bonds close for darkness in the room. The complimentary breakfast was just enough selection for everyone.

We found the room cold, and couldn’t figure out the heater. My advice is to turn on the baseboards if you find it chilly. Only other complaint would be the jacuzzi in the room. It wasn’t deep at all. I expected to the fully covered and I wasn’t. In my opinion, it’s not worth the extra money.

The hotel was clean. The room was very spacious, and the bed was really comfortable. I liked that breakfast was included, and the breakfast room was big and enough room to move around, get your breakfast, and find seating.

The hotel was near the Highway 400, so you can hear the traffic all night, which makes it difficult to sleep. Also, the parking lot needed attention: it should have been shoveled and salted. Because it hadn't been shoveled, it was tricky to walk on. Also, the shower was illogical. There was no real barrier when taking a shower, therefore the water tended to splash onto the floor. I had to get many towels to wipe it up.

15 minutes after the deadline to cancel my reservation with a full refund, I contacted the hotel and asked if they would please make a special consideration to cancel the reservation and give me a full refund. The answer I was given was because I pre-paid my room I could not cancel it with a refund. I was very disappointed with their response and ended up staying there rather than losing the money although it was not convient.

Got into the room and it smelled like smoke...supposed to be a non smoking hotel But was moved to a different room. Any one can be let into the hotel by being buzzed in.... Without being asked the room # your in. Safety issue. No lock on the pool door. Afraid a child can get in without a parent. Should be buzzed in with the room key. Same as the back door. Just a few safety suggestions

The building has a modern exterior. There were no problems with anything in the room. The wireless worked, the bathroom was good. There was coffee in the room, there was a used coffee pack that had not been removed from the coffee maker. The Continental breakfast was typical. Checkin and checkout were simple. The location was convenient. There was a fireplace in the room, it worked.

The interior of the building was a little dated. The elevator seemed to need service, various noises that warrant attention, abrupt stops. The interior of the elevator needed to be cleaned. The room had an old-fashioned heater/cooler, no wall thermostat. It was noisy much of the time when turned on. If you are planning to stay in Barrie for a night or two the Monte Carlo is a reasonable option, I would check out other place to see what was available in this price range.
