After a few of hostels in Canada I can say the Haven Hostel is a very warm place to stay. Everybody was giving me a feeling to be very welcome. The staff member always tried to address us by our first names and took care of your feelings. The manager helped me with a free lift to the airport and monument. The housekeeping crew did the best and took care that our rooms had a good temperature by the heat. It was the best stay so far in my whole year in Canada.

The front desk gal was awesome, made us feel right at home! Super friendly and welcoming to our furry friend as well. The room was spotless and the sheets smelt nice and clean! The bed was super comfy and soft. Love the offering of shampoo, conditioning and body wash in the washroom. The lobby area and shared accommodations were great as well! Everything was so clean and organized. We had a private queen room with private washroom and it was honestly better than some hotels we have stayed at. So cozy and had everything we needed.

Wouldn't change a thing, everything was great!

Everything. Amazing and well kept little marvel just a stones throw from the Casino and other dinning establishments. Right close to the waterfront. Open and spacious. We stayed here on our way out to Manitoba and decided to re book for the trip back. We stayed in “The Suite” this time around and I love its very large handicap accessible bathroom. I am a little crippled up and I really appreciated have the extra room in the very large floor shower stall. The fact that the also have a bath chair in the stall was awesome. The breakfast they offer is very good. Coffee and tea. A large fridge with individual buckets for each room so you can keep your own food to cook. Well equipped kitchen. A large comfy sitting area with good games and books to play or read. Just a really wonderful experience. One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Highly recommend. Price is great.

I have no complaints.

We loved how easy the property was to get to. The whole facility was very clean and it has a unique vibe to it. There is a wonderful feeling of acceptance from other guests and Staff. the Staff were amazing. Our room was spacious. the bed was comfortable and and the pillows were awesome even though we travel with our own. The bathroom was well equipped and clean. The complimentary Breakfast was one of the best I have had in a long time. There is a large common room with games to play. The white walls are filled with anecdotes of other travellers who have stayed and left their mark on the place. wifi worked great and the air conditioner units in the rooms work beautifully. A great place to stay

My husband has anxiety and is not open to some change. There is a no shoe policy…meaning you have to leave your shoes in the main entrance and because we had sandals on…we had to go bare feet. It caused him worry over someone stealing his shoes and possible germs on the floor. This is a real fear for some people. But we were able to overcome, and the friendly staff and owner let him carry his shoes to our room and keep them there. If your in sandals and bare feet you hen traveling in summer …there is a Dollarama just a few blocks away and socks are a $1.50.

I loved the location, the vibe of the hostel and the friendlyness of the staff. Bethany was especially friendly and made my stay enjoyable. I stayed two nights in the 4 bed dorm and one night in the Private Queen. I'm 1.91m tall and the bed in the dorm was a bid short for my taste (couldn't stretch out), but the private queen room on the main floor is awesome. It has a comfortable bed and a huge bathroom.

I loved the eclectic nature and environmental consciousness of the place. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I especially LOVE that it was dog friendly as I was traveling solo with my dog. There was a park nearby where I could walk him although it was not very clean. Eating establishments were within walking distance. The staff was excellent and very accommodating.

The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy but that said, I felt safe and secure in the facility itself.

I liked everything. One of the best hostel I've been to (and I've been to a lot!). The staff was awesome! The place is very clean and comfortable, there were some ear buds on the bed, I felt very welcomed and there was a lot of attention to details. There was a small fan for each bed and a curtain for more privacy. The showers are super clean.

A bit pricy but totally worth it!

this is MORE than what a hostel should be like -welcome candy on the pillows! in all honesty though, if this is your first hostel experience, it will set the standard. clean bathrooms, friendly and helpful staff, great common spaces -kitchen, lounge, dormitory beds built for privacy -complimentary earplugs for quiet and curtains for privacy. location is great as it is right downtown, walking distance to grocery store (if you prefer to cook) and restaurants (if you prefer to eat out). great vibe to this place. cost vs. value vs. experience...sometime you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes 'meh'. haven hostel is a clear winner.

wish i could have found a way to stay longer.

This is the coolest hostel in Canada! The staff is super friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the walks they recommended in the area. The location is absolutely perfect, with breweries, cafés and restaurants around. Very short walking distance from the waterfront. The place is sparkly clean and nicely decorated. There's everything you need to cook, the couches in the main area are so comfy and the morning muffins are to die for.

The Aura of the place was great. Hanuman was very courteous.

Room 4 had four bed sections but only two sections had portable fans. Please provide in all. Also, one of our family member fell from the upper bed at night while getting down. Please provide some dimmer which has minimal brightness since the ones provided were much more bright even after dimming, and because of shortage of fans, curtains could not be used.
