Beautiful Victorian hotel. There's no restaurant but that's OK because we thoroughly enjoy the walk into town for dinner. It's such a pretty walk to get into town. There is a room with a fridge and toaster where we make our own breakfasts, very convenient. They do offer free coffee at the bar downstairs. The pool is great and we love lounging around the pool area. Very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. This was our second stay and we're definitely going back!

This is not a negative for me but persons should be aware that, being that it's an historic Victorian hotel, there are no elevators and lots of stairs. All rooms are located on the second and third floors. So not a hotel for persons with accessibility issues.

The inn makes an impression when you first see it. It looks old and in need of some TLC, with peeling paint etc. When we opened the front door though, it was a really nice surprise. The lobby looks like it must have when it was built over 150 years ago. It feels like a museum, with old fashioned wallpaper and antique furniture. The wooden curved staircase is exceptional. We really enjoyed the old fashioned feel and the front desk employee was fantastic, giving us a tour of the place and telling us all about the history of the place and of the town of Knowlton. Our room was small but cozy, and the hotel doesn't have the modern amenities of a new hotel, but the old fashioned charm and warm staff made our stay unique and enjoyable.

Quaint, beautiful inn. The suite was very nice. The suite had a nice balcony to enjoy. The decorating of the inn was so beautifully done to depict the era of the building. Location was good and in walking distance of many things

The restaurant was not running BUT there are very new owners who are doing upgrades in their kitchen to have it up and running very shortly. Our suite was on the second floor which is only accessible by stairs, which was a bit hard for 69 year old women carrying luggage BUT the stair case is beautiful.

Loved the Victorian decor! This inn has a 19th century, Old World feel to it. The main staircase was wide and sturdy. It was very quiet, probably due to the wall-to-wall carpet throughout the hotel. Our room had an armoire large enough to hold most of our clothes. There were additional hooks on the wall for coats, etc. The staff was very helpful and there was a room dedicated to morning coffee and facilities for storing any food you may be travelling with. A sitting area outside that room made up for the lack of seating in our hotel room. There has been a restaurant on the first floor in the past. Perhaps it is only open in the summer. It would be a great addition to have it open year round.

In the preview the negatives were placed first. The opening statement should be the part describing the charm of this hotel. Read the 🙂 section first. If there was an elevator, no one mentioned it. The evening clerk offered to help us take up our bags, but my husband preferred to get his aerobic exercise on the stairs. The Inn needs new carpet and a good airing out. There is a bit of musty odor which often comes to places near bodies of water. If you suffer from allergies, take your antihistamines. This inn is not for the faint of heart.

Personnel was very collaborative as we had issues with booking. This is a great place, with very good management. When Booking.com was causing trouble to issue a partial refund, the personnel at the Lakeview Inn did all they could to resolve the issue. Booking.com did not, though: they were difficult, non-cooperative and made everything more complicated. For sure, next time I will NOT use Booking.com, but will rather book directly with this establishment.

Booking.com did not collaborate at all to resolve an issue with my reservation, and pretended the establishment was the problem, when it was not.

This is a beautiful Victorian hotel, well located. The room was small, European style, with a sink in the main room. Bed was comfortable.

The hotel isn't handicapped accessible, and the stairs are a little challenging, especially the central spiral staircase. It was too bad that the dining room isn't open, but there are plenty of restaurant option in town. Also, there is a full bar in the restaurant, and drinks are available upon request. There was no refrigerator in the room, but one can use a couple of communal fridges in a common room

Although the pool doesn't have a solar blanket, we all are quite comfortable in colder water and had a good swim after a long day's drive. The Brome room is also very convenient to play cards or games. We would have liked to have the dining room in service at least for breakfast but we understand the constraints at this timeA

A good coffee maker, the one with pods, would be a great addition.

Van , the manager is sincere and knowledgeable. Our 2nd Floor room for 3 , opened on to a beautiful Victorian veranda with seating and tables . The hotel is historic (150 years coming up) as is this charming village. Louise Penny fans will be so delighted!! Take the roads least travelled ( no highways or tolls!) to experience the Eastern Townships!!

Zero!!!

Well situated away from the busier commercial streets , nestled in between old style houses. Very quiet and quaint. If you like antiquely decorated, this the perfect place to stay

Should have a coffee machine in breakfast room at least, Keurig or Nespresso style. Extremely small TVs. Nice sized pool, but it is dated a bit and water very cold.
