My apologies, but I'm running out of positive adjectives to describe this property. It's always a pleasure to stop for the night @Universal hotel in Rivières-du-Loup, easily accessible no matter which direction you're arriving from. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds & pillows and easily accessible receptacles to charge one's electronic devices. There is sufficient parking for vehicles of many sizes; lots of EV-charging stations as well (can't elaborate on their functionality though, as I'm still an ICE driver).

A large functional hotel with attached restaurant. Restaurant staff were excellent - reservation on arrival at the hotel is recommended - the dinner was great and served promptly despite them accommodating a coach tour party at the same time. Beds were enormous (we had two queen sized beds) and comfortable. Very clean throughout. It provided us with a comfortable, functional stopover for the night.

Room overlooking the car park. Loud motorcycles and noisy coach travellers embarking in the morning were heard - noise quietening measures could/should be improved. Reception staff were "sterile" and not especially welcoming but efficient. It's a long way out of the centre of the town so it wasn't possible to walk in and see the sights and explore without getting back in the car.

Great hotel for location, lots of onsite parking. Room was a bit small but had everything we needed. Accommodated our cat, was very clean. Ordered room service which was a bit of a task but when we got the food all was forgiven, it was incredible! Wish we had had the stamina for a meal in the restaurant, it looked very nice. Quiet room.

Room service could be easier? But your restaurant staff and the quality of the meal was absolutely one of the best meals on our trip. Hotel has a confusing layout. We got lost haha. Perhaps more signage or some help from the front desk reception would have been nice.

...as with my previous night's stay evaluation, I'm running out of adjectives to rate this property (Booking.com's AI should be able to identify repeat guests at a property....sorry, this is a rant for a different day)...yes, I do stay quite frequently at this Hotel, and needless to say, if I were no longer satisfied with everything the Unversal Hotel is offering, I would look for another facility, as hard as it would be in beautiful Rivière-du-Loup. Thus....a simple suggestion to other visitors, who would like more info: just scroll down the comments, you're bound to find one of mine with 9 or 10 point ratings.

Bathroom was nice. Clean room.

The view from our room was a slanted roof. I felt maybe since we booked through booking we got leftover rooms. This was day 21 of our vacation and we stayed at many hotels. This was the most expensive hotel, with no breakfast included. The hotel was ok, but not outstanding. My sister-in-law and I split all our hotel bills but we couldn't do it this time for some reason. The payment has already been posted on my card. Plus they have a hold of $200 on my card which I know should be released within 3-5 business days. We stayed here on our way out to the East Coast a few weeks ago and were able to split the bill🤷‍♀️.

I enjoyed the location. The staff was very friendly. Beds were comfortable.

y. I was disappointed with the pool area. The pool was weird. It was a mix of being cold and warm in places. The slide did not seem functional. One person went down and it seem very unstable because it was rocking back and forth. My son didn't want to go on it. The hot tub was luke warm. Not very relaxing g as I hoped. I came to this hotel specifically for the pool for my son after our drive from Yarmouth, NS. I choose the pool instead of the free breakfast that some hotels offer.

The room had a huge king size bed - very comfortable nights sleep! The bathroom was spotless and had good products for hair & body washing as well as plenty of towels. We enjoyed the pool and spa after our long day of driving and had a beautiful meal at a reasonable price in the restaurant attached to the hotel. The staff were very accommodating with my request for a lactose free meal advising & checking with the chef to see what would suit me. The hotel seemed a way from the central area of Rivière-du-Loup but it was quiet and certainly suited our short stay.

Only a couple of things perhaps need to be checked - the air conditioner seemed to be a little noisy so turned it off so we could sleep better. The other thing is that the curtains don’t block out all of the light due to where they attach the near the wall.

I was travelling with my dog I like that there was a sliding door with easy access outside and grassy spots for her to do her business. The room was very comfortable,

Just wish they didn't have WHITE bed coverings in a room that is to accomodate pets. It was pouring rain on the night I was there and bringing in a wet dog and trying to keep her from rubbing up against the bed was rather difficult and rather frustrating I felt I was set up for failure as far as trying to keep the place clean.

The bed was definitely very comfortable. The coffee in the bedroom was amazing, I also appreciated that you had decaf because I'm not allowed to have caffeine

We had a senior executive suite and it was fairly small and I felt clustered. There was a huge tournament so there was no quietness and the guest above us were jumping loudly and the guest next door to us were playing very loud music until close to midnight and I was trying to sleep. Otherwise it's a very clean and nice spot

Our family of 2 adults and 3 children (ages 5, 7 and 9) were seeking a 1 night stay in the area during our roadtrip and the one request was a waterslide! Seemed like this hotel was the only in the area to offer this at an indoor pool. Half of the hotel seems to have been refurbished from an older hotel and the other end where where the spa is located is the newer end. We were situated in the older end but the room and hallways were all refurbished new and the rooms felt spacious. I would have loved to have one of the balconies overlooking the pool! Even with my screaming kids there. Lifeguard present which was a nice addition. Perhaps the business travelers may be appointed the newer wing. There is a closed but public lounge area with tv, couches and coffee area which was the only difference we noticed in the hallways.
