I have nothing but good things to say about this property, and I could be here for hours if I were to list all the amazing things about our stay. The location was excellent as it was right near the gate of the entrance to the national forest park, where the owner drove us to and from the entrance with no extra cost. Even when we got stuck in the mountain when the chair lift closed for the day, the owner drove up the mountain to come pick us up with no complains. The actual resort experience was also incredible. It was like entering a magical secluded cabin in the woods, with everything at your doorstep. The workers were all incredibly friendly and roasted sweet potatoes for us in the fireplace, which I must say was the best sweet potato I have even had in my life. From relaxing by the fire place, enjoying the hand made freshly roasted tea (all free of cost), eating sweet potatoes, complimentary breakfast that was better than any restaurant meal (such as large selection of home cooked delicious food that I still think about to this day), the outdoor hot tub that we could use even in winter, I could not recommend this place enough. One of the staff was a Chinese calligraphy master, and she took time out of her day to write a poem scroll each for me and my friend to take home! The owner took time each day to explain and map out a perfect route for us to take, and this made my zhangjiajie experience so much easier to navigate, where my friend and I got to experience all the wonders of the city with no hassle of booking or confusing route planning, as it was made so easy and accessible by the hotel staff. We went in winter so we preferred to stay by the fire place at night, but there was even a karaoke bar, outdoor pool, and huge fireplace available. We stayed three nights here, and our only regret about this trip was no staying longer at this magical resort.
Absolutely nothing, everything was perfect

Amazing accommodation. Frankie was so helpful and good company during our stay. Facility has everything you need, from the infinity pool looking out on the valley, to a cute indoor bar with karaoke, a restaurant with many food options and amazing service and food, as well as the lobby which is cosy with a fireplace. Frankie helped us with transport, navigation, and organising trip tickets for our stay. Tour Guides will tell you that the lodge is a bit far from some of the attractions of Zhangjiajie, but it's so close to the National Forest Park (5min drive), 1 hour from the Glass Bridge, and 2 hours from the Heaven Gate, but it is so worth it, trust me. Best part of our stay. Highly recommend.

We went to No5 Valley Lodge to explore the Zhangjiajie National Park, and we loved every bit of it. The lodge is in a very remote area, meaning that you're not close to shops or towns, but that's exactly what we were looking for. It's 5 minutes away from the west entrance of the park, which was perfect in our opinion because we managed to escape the crowds on most of our hikes. The lodge is beautiful and the pictures don't always do it justice, especially the view from the restaurant and swimming pool. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and very cosy. We started in one of the rooms, that was next to the swimming pool, and as the weather was getting colder (low season), the heating system had been turned on, which meant it made quite a lot of noise. We let the staff know about this and they immediately changed our rooms and upgraded us. The staff, and particularly Frankie, is very friendly and helpful. They're very organised and will provide you with pre-defined routes of visit for the park, which is great as it's quite a confusing and large park, so you just have to follow their guidance! Finally, we loved the food there, it was of really good quality, but note it's not western. Again, that's what we wanted, so we were very happy with it.

This is an amazing place surrounded by beautiful nature. We were here for 5 nights, from September 3 to September 8. We enjoyed the incredible hospitality of the hotel team (especially thanks to Ryan), proximity to the park (about 2 kilometers). The hotel has delicious breakfasts, a swimming pool with a gorgeous view, comfortable rooms. I would like to separately note Ryan's help in all matters: transfer from the airport and back, buying tickets to the park and friendly conversations on any topic. Five days in this hotel were so wonderful that we will definitely try to return!

The hotel is surrounded by mountains, making it perfect for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature. The design combines a cozy, rustic feel with modern comforts, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The restaurant serves tasty food made from fresh and local ingredients, which you can enjoy not only at breakfast but also for lunch and dinner. Moreover, the staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist, whether it’s helping to organize excursions or providing transportation to the national park entrance.
The location is a bit far from the city, which makes spontaneous walks and trips a bit challenging. However, this distance allows you to be away from the crowded and noisy urban areas and adds some peaceful appeal to the place.

The food was amazing, all home cooked and sourced locally. The location is incredible; views through the valley are beautiful. The outdoor heated pool looked out over this incredible view. Our room was spacious comfortable and felt very luxurious with a balcony overlooking the mountain. Finally, the best aspect of our stay was the staff, everyone we met was kind, helpful and spoke great English, in particular Frankie, who went out of his way to help us organise our trips to the national park and even dropped us of and picked us up each day (even when we were hours late!) . We cannot recommend this place enough and are very much looking forward to going back again soon.
Genuinely nothing - the whole stay was perfect

The staff there were very supportive and friendly. my left knee has problem and was not able to walk on a lot of stairs. They changed lower level rooms for me and my friend. They gave us an upgraded lodge room, which has a sunroom. Mr Qing the hotel manager helped us and provided support during our 3 days stay. Drove us and picked us up at the west gate of the park. The breakfast was included in the price, it was rich has a lot varieties . I particular like the heated swimming pool, surrounded with mountains, it was indeed very beautiful scene.
The shower waste water pipe seemed drain slowly, overflowed on the floor. Also need a place in the bathroom or bedroom for hanging on wet towels. Wish there was a chair or a bench in the changing room for changing clothes for swimming.

Everything was perfect! Staff - professional, so very helpful and friendly. Location is absolutely stunning for people that like more remote places. And we do! ☺️ Easy Check-in and check-out. Rooms (we had a free room upgrade) - so beautifully decorated with amazing views. The balcony with the bathtub. The breakfast - delicious. Close to the Park Entrance. The free ride to and back from the park. Recommending it 💯 and we would stay there again with no hesitation. **The only thing to be noted is that even if the pool shows as being open on the listing, it will not be in the colder months. Unless it is a national Holiday. Probably the best thing to do if you are interested in that is to check with the accommodation before booking.

The staff really made the difference here, all speaking great English! Rain and Frankie took great care of us, making sure everything ran smoothly, going to and from the park, arranging excursions, airport transfers etc, as well as everything else while we were in the hotel. Yangmei prepared delicious tea and taught us about Chinese tea culture and explained calligraphy too as a nice bonus! The views from the hotel are stunning both from the rice fields and the infinity pool. The room was really comfortable and well equipped. Also entering the national park from the gate near the hotel where Rain and Frankie dropped us off and picked us up from was ideal, because the crowds come from the other side, so you are usually going against the crowds and have limited wait times compared to coming in from the main entrance. Really recommend this place!
The hotel is quite isolated, which was exactly what we wanted but just a point for people to consider, as you will likely have all your evening meals in the hotel.

wonderful mountain hotel with incredible service. The hotel is set in a natural environment in a village close to the entrance of a park, which is accessible by a free shuttle service. This means you can enjoy the tranquility of the jungle while being about a 5-minute drive from town. Villa No. 5 is actually a mini resort featuring several beautifully designed buildings. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, and comfortably furnished, with a mountain, wooden character. They have large beds and a projector with online TV (note - only in Chinese). There’s a restaurant on-site. The hotel offers plenty of activities every day, such as traditional pattern embroidery, calligraphy, etc. There are two pools and a bar. For an additional fee, the hotel provides a shuttle from the airport/train station. However, the most important and greatest advantage is the superstar host Frankie, who embodies the “anything is possible” attitude. He is very pleasant, speaks excellent English, always smiling, and approaches every task with enthusiasm and zeal. He was always nearby but never intrusive. He arranged tickets for us, fulfilled special requests, and explained where to go and how much time to spend (during a longer stay, it’s worth visiting the towns of Furong and Fenghuang Ancient City, which are accessible by fast trains from Zhangjiajie. You need to set off early in the morning if you want to see both or split it over two days. The train stations are located a bit away from the centers, which takes time.)
It’s important to remember that, as in everywhere in China, there is no heating, and if you arrive during the colder months, you need to heat the rooms with the air conditioning. And that was a bit noisy.
