It was my second stay in this hotel. As I mentioned before it is in a very good location, has very comfortable rooms and great staff. Two small pools, very comfortable beds and high quality of sleep. With any doubts I would stay in this hotel again. If you need a driver for Santa Marta and arround you could contact a driver by wats up: +57 312 5442324 I used him several times: from Santa Marta airport to the hotel, from Santa Marta to Minca and after two days back from Minca to Santa Marta, from Santa Marta to Tayrona park and in the evening back to Santa Marta and from Santa Marta to Cartagena. The driver does not speak English and I do not speak spanish, but he is very smart and translates everything with google. The most important what he is extremely responsible , safe and reliable. The best restaurant in Santa Marta for fine dining is Guasimo restaurant.

No drinking water provided in a room. During check in we did not get a welcome drink which was offered to us on an occasion of the first stay. No glass for tooth brush in a bathroom

It was a charming hotel…it had an old-fashioned classy colonial feel, and reminded me of “100 Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez! The staff was super helpful. I especially appreciated the blended welcome cocktail upon arrival on a hot day…delicious! Breakfast was also great, and I enjoyed cooling down in the pools (yes, there are multiples)!

I think it would be nice to include complimentary water since it is hot and Santa Marta’s water isn’t potable.

We originally intended to stay here one night as a stop over after a 4.5 bus journey from Cartagena. We extended by another night as we loved it so much. Beautiful hacienda, lovingly restored with a great back story! Traditional decor, wonderful service,three different pool/jacuzzi areas, a spa and delicious breakfast. It’s super quiet here as well and very close to the promenade. Also we were upgraded on our second night to the Presidential suite which is superb.

The staff and customer service was some of the best I’ve ever seen! My fiancé and I celebrated Valentine’s Day and they set up a private dinner on the rooftop with rose pedals and it was lovely. All of the employees went above and beyond to make sure our stay was more than comfortable and accommodated our needs in every way. Location is great. Atmosphere of the hotel is so cute. 10/10 recommend!

Beautiful historic & charming hotel. Excellent location and probably most comfortable hotel bed in Colombia! Nice breakfast & very attentive staff.

Pool is located in centre of hotel, next to check-in & in middle of Dining area. We felt a little weird swimming there. Upper floor had a small plunge pool But pretty hot up there and limited shade. Room was a little dark (main floor facing pool) & toilet area is essentially part of room (just a glass sliding door so not great for shy people! Also spotty wifi.

The hotel is located conveniently in the city center. The staff is very friendly and the received us with a cocktail. Before going to our bedroom they took us for a short tour in the hotel and share with us the hotel family history and the house history, and showed us how to enjoy the place. We received an upgrade to the presidential bedroom which was beautifully decorated. Had a double large shower. The breakfast was delicious.

We loved the place and enjoyed our relaxing visit to Santa Marta. The only point is they asked me to pay the taxes there, I thought booking had made all the charges to my credit card in advance.

Is close to almost everything that suits tourists. The Small pool and relaxing area on the rooftop. Ground floor Rooms with high Ceiling. Staff is very polite and helpful.

Breakfast is very basic. I know that is a Vintage/Old property with a history but needs a TLC urgently,everything is outdated. Jacuzzi water(we don’t even use it) and pool tiles very dirty. The rooftop bar out of use(at least some cold drinks to be available in here). To be Honest,I don’t think i’ll stay here again in the future if is to be back Santa Marta.

Excellent location, safe and well situated vis-à-vis the historic center of Santa Marta. Beautifully landscaped and decorated. An exceptionally warm, welcoming and supportive staff.  Added value: this is a 16th century convent, beautifully restored and well-maintained by the owners who are on site to help you appreciate the facilities even more. 

This site may be challenging for anyone with mobility issues given the stairs that lead to the second and third floors.  Anyone with these issues should request ground floor lodging. 

A pretty complex of well appointed rooms in a very old building. It’s next to the beach and they provide free parking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. We also had dinner there one night, which was quite good. Their banana dishes are worth trying.

The room had no windows that you can open to let the daylight come in, but it was next to the pool.. so I ended sitting outside.

The staff at Don Pepe were the best we encountered on our whole 1 month trip. Everyone was so friendly and smiley, and went out of their way to be helpful and to make our experience even better. The check-in drink was delicious and the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we've had on our trip. The location is exactly where you would want to stay in Santa Marta and the rooftop with amazing views and sun trap was a great addition. This is the best place to stay if you are visiting Santa Marta
