This place is perfect if you are looking for a beautiful sanctuary while visiting San Jose - the garden is gorgeous - the rooms are cute - lots of beautiful objects and thoughtful touches everywhere - like full size, decent quality toiletries in the bathroom and an honesty bar with snacks and drinks. The breakfast in the garden was gorgeous - I was travelling alone with lots of meetings through the day and the morning was my time to regroup and plan - to fuel up and feel ready - Pillar was really flexible about what the options were - so generous with portions and very welcoming for my colleague who came to meet me before our day of visits began. I will definitely come here again. Thanks Xavier and Pillar for making me feel so welcome and safe.

Its a minor thing and didnt not negatively impact my time at all -I arrived at night and though there was a sign on the main road, I wasnt sure how far to go down the path to reach the casa.

Such a beautiful atmosphere in the house, coloured with flowers, the calm breeze through the open windows and smiles all around. Gathering in the morning for a delicious homemade breakfast made with love. The owners were so helpful with every question asked, they made it feel like home. A stay to remember! We extended by a day we were so happy there.

Pilar and Xavier are incredible hosts - they made us a warm welcome and supported with many recommendations around tours and transport. Breakfast was also great and in the surroundings you can find quite some restaurants for dinner. We really enjoyed our days in Casa De Las Tias!!!

Pilar and Javier(the owners) were great. we sat out on the patio eating breakfast with them, overlooking their drop dead wonderful backyard. we saw hummingbirds, 7 different types of butterflies, mango trees 25 ft. tall, surrounded by flowering vines and shrubs. Very quiet. we chatted for more than two hours. My wife and I will go out of our way to go there again in the future if we are even remotely close to the area.

Breakfast was absolutely fabulous! I continually go back in my mind to the wonderful food & great setting out on the patio overlooking the beautiful gardens. Also, our host Ank, who was filling in for the owners who were out of town, was delightful and very attentive. Plus the house is a very interesting older house with a lot of great art work and decor.

Lovely little niche in Escazu to the west-southwest of San Jose. Beautiful gardens, great coffee and a really amazing breakfast. The hosts are super friendly and helpful in every way.

If you are looking for a really relaxing night's sleep just know despite the curtains there is a fair bit of light which gets into the rooms very early. The property is super quiet after the birds finish chirping in the morning.

Lovely BnB and even lovelier hosts. Beautiful setting with relaxing rooms and a yummy breakfast. Xavier recommended a great tour for me to join last minute which was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

It was great, nothing I didn't like.

A charming property, designed and managed with a lot of love and sense of detail. A true hospitality feel and wonderful energy. Like a small oasis and a perfect place to start any trip exploring Costa Rica. The hosts were wonderful, with great sense of humour and would help with anything in their power to make your stay more pleasurable and hassle free. The ambiance that they have created emanates from everything.

This is a beautiful B&B, a perfectly renovated old house with many exceptional details. The photos do not do justice of how beautiful the house and the rooms are. We particularly liked the balcony overlooking the nice garden and the homemade breakfast served on the patio. The room (the one with the balcony) was somewhat small but comfortable and everything we needed was available. And the spacious balcony with the hammock more than made up for any lack of space inside the room. The location is very good, quiet but close to a variety of restaurants and shops while going to downtown San Jose was also very easy. Cannot think of even one thing we did not enjoy in Casa de las Tias. Last but not least Pillar and Xavier are perfect and caring hosts. Strongly strongly recommend. For sure we will stay there when we return to Costa Rica.

The property was even more adorable in person than in photos. Great location close to food. The room was well stocked with everything you could imagine, even a garbage bag for laundry.

The only downside was that the mattress and pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable. really didn’t sleep well because of it.
