The hotel staff is great! Every interaction was pleasant, and everyone was nice. No motor veichle traffic on the island was a great thing I did not know I needed! The island is quiet, there were no crowds, and it gave us a great setting for peaceful relaxation. Both the pools and the main beach are great for families with kids (we has no needs to test out the other beaches, but they look cosy, as well). Ferry lines ran on time, and the trip to Rovinj took like 8 minutes, which was great for impromptu tour of Rovinj or hitting the market. Hotel buffet for dinner and breakfast was pretty rich, there were a lot of options at all times to choose from. All in all, great!

Only minor old-man-yelling-at-the-clouds things - a lifeguard (or an official person actually being able to enforce some of the rules) at the pool would be a plus. A 15ish y.o. brat jumped from a bridge over the pool into it, and on my kid, who then drank a bunch of pool water and was generally shook. That kind of sucked, but the hotel is not to blame - bathroom keys being available in the rooms, at least on request - more options for lunch would be cool (I understand that, as this is an island, that is a bit harder to do, just something that would be cool)

Our room was great with a lovely balcony & amazing sea view & view of Rovinj! All kept very clean. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice & we particularly liked the freshly made omelettes! Dinner was buffet style but of high quality & very enjoyable & reasonably priced. The staff are a credit to the hotel. The facilities were excellent - lovely pool area & beach too with plenty of sunbeds & parasols although we were not there at peak, peak summer season so not sure how this is then but there appeared to be lots. The small bar & small cafe/bar (batimar), offered excellent drinks & lunch for when spending time at the beach. Take beach shoes as stony beach & much pleasanter with beach shoes. The service from the staff at the harbour for parking the car & collecting it after our holiday was excellent & the staff working at the bar at the info/arrival centre too. The island is beautiful & kept extremely tidy. The only difficulty they have is seagulls which can be a little troublesome. The boat ferry service is very good but only 1 per hour so you need to plan carefully. Rovinj is a beautiful town with lots of good restaurants along the seafront & up small streets. Very friendly people & its been a delight to stay at this hotel & visit Rovinj & we will definitely come again one day! Thank you to the team at maistra select hotel Katerina, Rovinj!

Nothing not to like!!

The hotel provides for every needs ((salt water) pool, clean beach, beach cafe and hotel cafe). There is a games room for ping pong for the hotter hours of the day. Tennis rackets are free, and paddle rent is affordable (12 euro for an hour). The breakfast provides for a huge variety. The omelettes are huge! The view and the island is beautiful.

The furniture was laminated and was a 30 year back in time to the nineties. Bathroom was a bit small. And the juice at breakfast was more a strong orange lemonade instead of juice. Maybe it could be pointed out were to get the boat to this island as we ended up on the wrong side of Rovinj first of all.

The location is amazing, it’s both in the nature and very quiet yet in 10 minutes of boat ride you are in the center of Rovinj. The Island is truely beautiful. Breakfast is very nice. The bed, the space in the bedroom and terrasse were very comfortable.

Toilet had an uncomfortable smell, reception at arrival was confused with instructions (from arrival at port to room, it took us two hours: parking indications were wrong, boat transfer was wrong), swimming was an issue with brown foam showing up on the shore often; you have to change sides on the island depending on that.

This is really a special place -on it's own island! It came a bit of age but it has charme, the employees are friendly and cater to your every need. We liked the rocky private beach, wich is a little hidden, and the cliff jump bay, a very romantic place for sunsets! Breakfast is a big variety, and in the autumn season you can get all you can eat-dinner for 20 euros, too! Each room has a balcony, ours was like 15 sqm and had a nice view over the park to the sea! A really unique place! To get to and from the island you have to use a ferryboat, wich runs every hour till from 5.30am to 1am. The seagulls there are very funny. We had one that followed us around for five days and visited us at the beach! Water is super clean, but we saw some jellyfish where the ferryboat jetty is. But at the beach side there were none. Lots of fish, though!

The Hotel itself is very quiet, although the older rooms have very thin walls. The bigges noise comes from the old town pubs (live music) and the hotel on the other side of the beach. So no one is to blame, but it can be a bit annoying. We were in the part that is most remote from the beach bar and all the other noise, so it was fine. The beach bar itself and the little food place there is closed at night, wich is a pity because it's a nice place to hang out after sunset.

Buffet breakfast had a huge array of options on offer. The location on its own island was perfect and only a 5 minute ferry boat ride to the town. All the staff were fantastically helpful and friendly.

The room was basic which we expected t from a 3 star hotel. Our room had a desk but no desk chair so it would have been useful to have that (we took a balcony chair in). It was very clean and a comfortable and large bed.

The location of the hotel is stunning, on its own island. It had a beautiful atmosphere. We had a lovely room with a sea view. The buffet style breakfasts were very good indeed with lots of hot and cold food to choose from.

The hotel could have provided a wider range of snacks at lunchtime. As you are "trapped" on the island (in a nice way) with boats to Rovinj once an hour, it's not possible to pop across whenever you want. We only ate in the restaurant one evening - it was very reasonably priced and perfectly adequate, but not fantastic. About what you'd expect for the money, I guess.

The location on the island was beautiful, the views were amazing. The property was well maintained. Staff was great and ready to help. Breakfast was amazing.

Because this property is on a small island you need to take a ferry to get there from mainland. We were told the name of the ferry was Rovinj but at times there was another ferry going this route and we almost missed it because we were not told the ferry could change. The ferry was only every hour, would have liked it to be a bit more often, at least every half hour, and that may be so when more in season, we were there at the end of the season.

I don't know if I prefer more the location of the hotel or the peace that the island offers. In the embrace of wonderful nature hides a hint of old-fashioned luxury with the breath of a modern hideout for mental relaxation. Especially, if you are greeted by a receptionist with a smile like Marko does, it's only a matter of time before I come visit it again. :) Complete peace is filled only by the meditative sounds of waves and birds. A bit of the city bustle can be reached in just 5 minutes by boat. Definitely an experience for a break that I would recommend to everyone.

We really enjoyed the whole adventure of getting on the ferry to get to the Hotel, using the ferry to go the Restaurants in the port in the evening, this was so different to anything else we've ever done. We loved finding the little private coves to swim from, with your own access into the sea using steps. All of this far outweighed the negatives. Absolutely loved the experience!

Finding the Reception at the Port wasn't that simple, but once found, the process was very easy. The hotel was a wee bit dated and could do with an uplift, but actually that was part of it's character! No Wi-Fi in the bedroom, even with the help of an extra router. This was a problem as my father was poorly and I needed Wi-Fi in the room to keep up to date, without having to go down to the reception area.
