Let's be real....this is a locally owned and operated hotel. It is not of the same caliber as The Crowne Plaza or The Sheraton, which are both just down the street. If that is what you expect, then it is best you book a reservation there. I was apprehensive at first because of all the negative reviews I read about this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a nice, small scale hotel that more than met my expectations. The room was clean, comfortable, and the view of the Malecon was wonderful. The staff was superb overall. The food was very good, especially the included breakfast buffet. The in-house laundry service was also very quick.

Every night the music on the pool terrace was quite loud and it would shake the building. This apparently is the norm for this city. Normally it stopped by about 11 pm, but on weekends it would continue until 3 am. I was immune to it by the 3rd night and ended up actually enjoying the celebratory atmosphere from my room.

Napolitano is like being at an all inclusive. the breakfast was amazing ....full buffet breakfast was delicious and complete. the rooms are clean and large and the best views you could ask for.

Only issue was the bottled water....DO NOT DRINK THEIR BOTTLED WATER.I had a birthday party there and they put a bottle of water for everyone on the table. ALL my guests were sick and throwing up when they went home. Buy better water at a bodega around the corner. buy Planeta a Azul or Dasani water.

The staff was more than wonderful. So warm and accommodating. As somebody who speaks very little Spanish and had never been to the Dominican Republic I had nothing to worry about. The staff made sure whatever I needed they had an answer for me. From a hotel operated taxi service to an included breakfast that was fit for a king, it was hands down the best hotel experience I’ve had in my 50 years of living. I will always stay here anytime I’m in the DR.

Great location on the malecon a short walk from the colonial zone. Nice views of the ocean and harbor entrance. Staff is friendly and attentive. Nice breakfast buffet and overall good food quality.

This hotel desperately needs updating and maintenance. Carpets in halls badly stained and should have been replaced years ago. Various things falling apart in rooms. Dirt etched into texture in bathroom floors. If the owners continue to defer maintenance, international travelers will be driven away.

Friendly staff. Very good breakfast and great location. They gave us an upper room with great view so we can avoid the noise of the terrace. That was nice.

The air conditioner in the room wasn’t working properly.

The location of the hotel was right in the middle of all the places I needed to go. Service was excellent and fast. Breakfast was delicious, the coffee was the best to start your day.

The only thing I dislike was that I had to leave.

Excelent location, staff is great, friendly and always ready to help you to make your stay pleasant. Love the terrace, with the pool and restaurant. Very good breakfast. At night wonderful view, the city is very much alive. The casino is a plus...if you want to have a good time

Not my first stay there. Staff were friendly as always and I like the location along the malecon and its easy to get around.

It was a bit pricey than before, but saying that it is December and I know prices have gone up everywhere in general.

nice place very easy to move around the town comfortably secure and the location is great

they don’t have a shuttle for airport dropping off or pick up,also the gym is like a toy play. In one word I can say no gym.
