Nothing could have been better.

Well, this is lux. Great bang for the buck. The hotel is lovely. The front desk folks were super nice (and speak English, but they let me try in Spanish). Room is clean and very nice. Hot water in the shower and sink is strong and fast. Bed was excellent, and the location is great. The bar is nice (beer $4.50 is a bit high). The pool area is the best I've been to in Ecuador, amazing. Room was quiet, the doormen were very helpful. Top notch all around

When I got there, the price they presented me was higher than the price I agreed on through Booking.com. I showed them my email. Because I was using my Ecuadorian ID, they said that price wasn't for me. When I presented them a copy of my foreign passport, they talked about it, then decided they could make a copy of that and give me the foreigner rate. Weird. That has never happened to me anywhere in Ecuador (I've been everywhere). They were nice about it and did what they could. The wifi is apparently "open," without a password, in the room, that was odd. But it worked. Also, the restaurant, where I've eaten before, didn't have any menu options that day, just a buffet, which, no thanks.

All the staff at the Grand Hotel were lovely, friendly, and helpful - we felt taken care of and safe - They ordered us taxis, arranged for an early breakfast the day we left, and made dinner reservations for us. The room was clean and roomy and comfortable temperature - the facilities, including the restaurant, bar, rooftop gym and pool table, and pool and lounge areas were all beautiful. The mosaic iguana overlooking the pool is amazing.

I thought the bartender and their ability to make a drink was just 'meh'. The prices for drinks at the bar was really expensive, especially considering it wasn't a very well made drink and the prices for drinks in town. I recommend not drinking at the hotel.

Very friendly staff who consistently tried to improve my stay. I was also pleasantly surprised by the inside courtyard looking onto the pool, which gave a very nice atmosphere to the hotel. The gym facilities were super. Location was convenient coming from the airport but also for walking around the main parts of the city on the one day layover. Only I felt like my room was a bit dark but then I spent most of the day in it whereas there are some more pleasant common areas. All in all, a solid 4 star hotel and good value for money.

The hotel is fantastic, it says 3 star but trust me it’s 5 star, it may not have a swimming pool or spa but it makes up for this with the most fantastic roof terrace where you can have your breakfast watching hummingbirds feed and looking at Misty volcano. The rooms are lovely and the staff are fantastic, thanks guys we had a lovely stay.

The entire hotel was beautiful, specially the pool and garden area.

My room was at the end of a long corridor that went around the hotel. My door got stuck the first day and even though they fixed it, it really bothered me having to walk back and forth the long corridor to get to the phone and call reception.

This hotel has many free to use facilities to it, perfect if you need to stay short to get to the airport the next day: sauna, gym, tabletennis and -football and a pool. The restaurant has a good breakfast and decent menu for the rest for the day.

The check-in takes super long. I checked it and it took 25 minutes. Not only with us, but also with other hostesses, I don't know why. When I came down to ask a short question I had to wait the same amount of time, because all hostesses were busy with check-ins and the floormanager did not bother to help and kept overseeing the ladies. The rooms a bit old looking and feeling, especially with the carpet which is quiet dirty.

The hotel has good services, and the rooms are spacious. Buffet breakfast here is excellent - I really recommend it. The pool is easily accessed and nicely decorated, but it is entrenched between high walls.

The center of Guayaquil, where the Grand Hotel is located, has few tourist attractions. We did not really have much time to explore the Guayaquil downtown area, as we were in transit to Galapagos Islands.

A unique hotel in the middle of Guayaquil. Everything is special (in a good way) about it: U-shaped, with a very nice pool and rest areas in the middle, just behind the cathedral, desks for working on each floor. The breakfast was excellent! The staff friendly, you can even play board games, snooker or ping pong on the terrace. Oh, last but not least: the best toilet paper I ever saw in Latin America, finally a thick 3-layers paper, and not the cheap super thin one you have to fold 4 time to avoid incidents.

A/C was quite noisy, fortunately it was cool enough to use just the fan. It is an old hotel, and you can feel it in the rooms.

Very clean amenities, comfortable beds and rooms with reduced sound and light conducive to lovely rest. Delicious range of breakfast options to start a wonderful day exploring Guayaquil. Staff very polite and focused on provision of service to honor the visitors.
