I had a wonderful experience at Flonk Hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist with anything I needed. The breakfast was fantastic—rich, diverse, and truly worth it, with options for everyone. The view of the lake from the hotel was stunning, and all the facilities were top-notch, including the bike I rented to explore the area. The location is beautiful, surrounded by greenery and the lake, and while it's a bit away from the city center, it's only a 10-15 minute bike ride away. The Wi-Fi was excellent, which allowed me to work on my laptop without any issues. The hotel's restaurant offered delicious food, and the lobby was cozy, making me feel safe and warm throughout my stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay with great amenities!

The only downside is that this hotel might not be ideal for those looking to be in the heart of the city. However, taxis were easily accessible, so it wasn’t a big issue. I hope for better prices in the future, but apart from that, my stay was great!

The hotel is very nice. I liked that there is a pool and I liked that they have a shuttle service. Employees are very nice and helpful. The facilities like rent a bike and free towels and bathrobe for the pool is excellent. The breakfast is very good, with really a lot of choices.

The rooms could be improved to back up the 4 stars rating of the hotel. For example a mini fridge, more than 1 coffee per person, ice machines on the floors. Iron in the rooms. These are ideas. What I did not like was that the shuttle bus does not really go on schedule, so we missed our connection at the station. Other than that every thing was great.

Awesome location next to lakes and a large nature preservation area with extensive running and cycling paths! If you're active, this is the place to stay in Groningen. Our room was large and had a beautiful view of the lakes. Breakfast and lunch were quite good and served in a very nice hall.

On the first evening of our stay some insect bit me while outdoors, on a vein in my head caising mild but annoyingswelling. I've asked the front desk staff that worked the shift at 1:00am if they had in the hotel's first aid kit one of these ointments that treat such bites and they said they did not and assured me "you'll be fine"... I think that for a hotel so close to nature it would have been necessary to have such products in their first aid kits.

It all was fine except the distance from the train station no transport had to find a bus or had to get a taxi and still had to walk a long way not vey good coming all the way from the Uk. It is ok for younger people but for elderly people not that good .your shuttle service is great but also should be able to pickup people coming from afar. The breakfast service is excellent no complaints

Good location if you like it quiet. The upgraded room had a very nice lake view, was big enough and came with a nespresso machine and a kettle, 3 tea bags and 4 coffee capsules, and 2 paper cups daily. 1 armchair, a desk and office chair. Big TV screen with lots of channels and Radio stations offered. Bath has tub and shower tray, hairdryer and shower gel plus shampoo. Bed is king size.

Unfortunately, the bed was much too soft and saggy for our taste. And the windows do not open. There was only 1 armchair, which we found strange for a double room.

The room was an average size with a lovely view of a lake and greenery. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was rich and tasty. The lounge had a wonderful Christmas atmosphere thanks to the decorations. A large car park is available in front of the hotel.

The hotel presents itself as green, which actually wasn´t quite true. We didn´t want to waste the towels, so we put the sign for the cleaning ladies on the door handle, but when we came in the evening, there was a package with fresh laundry in front of the locked door. This repeated 3 times even if we asked the receptionist to tell the cleaning ladies and he promised to do so. By the time we left we had 4 sets of towels, which I consider a waste even if we didn´t use them.

A beautiful hotel for both private and business visitors, with free parking available at all times. The surroundings is peaceful, green with lake and the staff is very helpful. The location is ideal, offering a swimming pool, and it serves as a great base for exploring the cultural city of Groningen and its surroundings. Don’t forget to visit Bourtange. Overall, I enjoy staying at Flonk Hotel, as it has a welcoming, home-like atmosphere.

Very friendly and helpful staff, good restaurant, good breakfast, beautiful location (by the lake). Rooms are a bit Spartan, but you have all you need, and a very good bathroom. The pool (small, but OK for laps) is a nice addition. You can rent boats. Lots of parking space.

Not much, really. As I wrote above, the rooms are quite simple, but they have all basic things. A couple of glasses and cups (made of glass or ceramic, not plastic) would be nice.

1) No idea why room service couldn't bring dinner to my room. The restaurant wasn't full, the reception wasn't busy, and the service staff wasn't over capacity 2) Rooms felt too stuffy/cramped (less of a space issue and more of an interior design problem 3) couldn't let down blinds 4) For the price, you should expect the hotel to have a bath and more basich hygene products placed in the bathroom. Perhaps, the hotel provides those on request but I'm used to have an information pamphlet placed on the table for that. 5) Free Wifi was unexcusably poor, even if you want to charge for a premium service, I've seen much better free wifis in countries with much worse broadband infrastructure. Its worse than the free wifi offered by the Deutsche Bahn

Very nice hotel, situated in a quiet area, on a lake. The swimming pool is not too small, you can take a relaxing walk around the lake. The restaurant is quite good if you stick to local dishes (don’t try Thai food, it has nothing to do with the original). Good service, friendly staff. The location is far from the city center, but if you are in Groningen for a vacation, this is a very good option.

No ventilation in the bathroom. The lighting is poor, especially in the bathroom, amplified by the questionable choice of color - grey/black. One day, the maid just left a couple of towels on the bed, without cleaning the room or making the beds - it was strange, I can’t remember a similar situation in another good hotel.
