Really good, the expected variety of cereal, fruit, yogurt etc.. never a shortage of supply. Area kept exceptionally clean and organised. Really enjoyed the breakfast.

The stairs were not cleaned properly, not vacuumed but witnessed a cleaner using a brush covered with a wet cloth. Not a good idea, definitely not affective. I’ll add that windows were being replaced in the stairway area, with small slivers of glass left on the stairs. This was mentioned but no action was taken. Room maid a little hit or miss initially but came up trumps.

I chose this hotel due to the proximity to a medical facility I was visiting. Don't be deceived by the modest outside, the rooms were very spacious and clean. Bathroom was spotless, beds were comfortable. Our room was by the elevator, but we didn't even hear it. The room had a small area with a microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge and mini sink. It also had a dining area with a table and four chairs. The outside view was to a wonderful little garden that belongs to a fancier hotel next door, so you get the view without the price tag. Breakfast is sort of grab and go, it does the job if needed. Hotel is located next to many food options in walking distance breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also there is a grocery store and convenience store 5-7 min away by foot. We chose to mainly travel by bus, the bus stations were really close to the hotel too and it saved us a lot. I felt safe in this area and we walked at different times of night and day. Overall I would choose this hotel if I travel to this area again.

Bed was comfortable, really nice location close to lots of restaurants, shops, bus stops, and breakfast included in the price was a great bonus! While it is obviously an older hotel, it is clean and the staff were kind. We loved having the patio, fridge, and microwave. The neighborhood seemed safe and charming.

Only thing that detracted from the appearance of the room was the water damage on the ceiling in our bathroom. It looked like the issue had been resolved (there was no water dripping/wet spots) but the bubbling of the ceiling material remained and was painted over. Otherwise the bathroom was newer and everything worked well.

The Royal Palace has definitely been much upgraded since my last stay there several years ago. The rooms and public spaces have been refurbished. The desk clerk was very patient and extremely helpful in dealing with getting me a cab (since I cannot use Uber or Lyft). Once he got me the right connections, I could do it myself after that. The location is excellent if you are doing anything at UCLA.

Nothing really. It is not the hotel's fault that much of east Westwood is now a ghost town, especially after 10PM.

The location was excellent if you want to be close to UCLA. The room was clean, beds comfortable and overall we always have a pleasant stay. Parking big plus and is free. Even provided a decent breakfast to start the day. The hotel is dated but this time, we found that the rooms/furnishing have been updated. This is one of multiple stays for us at Royal Palace over the last few years while visiting our daughter at UCLA.

Wifi was horrible. Outlets are limited and you really cannot plug anything in some of the wall outlets because the plug falls out. However, there is a outlet extender to correct this issue but they really need to add more outlet extenders or to fix the outlet problem. The hotel overall is dated but clean.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Amenities like complimentary breakfast ---The free fruit juices and fruits round the clock were nice to have ; then later they added hard boiled eggs as part of their complimentary continental breakfast. there was ice always available. Proximity to medical facilities and to restaurants is a real added plus. What would have improved the stay would be laundry facilities that were inside and available all hrs.

Fine hotel in the grand style of “Old Los Angeles.” This is not a luxury hotel but simply the most decent and affordable place to stay close to UCLA Hospital and the vibrant urban environs of L.A. Perfectly and exactly decent in every way—a great place to stay with all expected amenities.

Parking is tricky—requires squeezing down narrow stalls that are at times two cars deep. This is quite manageable though and a small price to pay for 1) having parking in Los Angeles! and 2) having access to such a wonderful, affordable, and comfortable hotel.

Very good location for our needs. Good restaurants in <10 min drive, and even some in walking distance. Convenient parking arrangement in front of the hotel if you are comfortable with leaving the car keys. Large room, comfortable bed, reasonable A/C, clean bathroom. There was even a desk and office chair for people who need to do some work. Nice staff, both day and night.

Wifi was sub-par. A couple times it disconnected for several minutes. One time I had to go down and ask the front desk staff to restart their modem/repeater etc after waiting for 30mins. There was no breakfast in the restaurant section , due to covid but it was not clear what was the alternative. So we ended up not having any despite price being included. Could be communicated better.

Neighbourhood close to UCLA and with a good number of shops and restaurants within (immediate) walking distance. Room was comfortable, spacious, and clean, with a safe provided. Did not try the breakfast, so rating does not include it.

Not the newest hotel/hallways, but it was clean, so no real issue at all.

We did not take advantage of the free breakfast, however there are many restaurants within walking distance that were fun to try. The location was great. We were able to get the Getty Villa, Reagan library and good hiking, while avoiding the heavy traffic closer to the pier

It was nice to have the parking available, however the spaces were very narrow, in an unkempt alley.
